Fracture of Biel-Tan mentions Lucius the Eternal and a large snake like monster slaughtering the Imperial Guard.

Daemon Fulgrim model may very well be the next Primarch, possibly with a new Lucius model as well, which is nice.

I expected Fulgrim to be more 'Sigvald the magnificent' rather than 'giant snake monster'

(Was actually pretty cute how they sold magnus with three heads. 'How many eyes does he have? However many he wants to it's goddamn magnus'.

Fulgrim's always been a giant purple serpent with wings and four arms. He even has an old mini from Epic.

If Leman Russ turns out to be a traitor Primarch I will personally kill Matt Ward. Was it him who would write that? Wouldn't matter, simply as a statement.

I don't think Matt Ward is particularly anti-WOLF, though the Space Wolves are a Codex noncompliant chapter.

I'm curious as to how a tank would evolve. Would it climb out of the primordial ooze wiggling it's track-nubs, feeding on smaller jeeps before crawling onto the shore having evolved proper treds?

The codex astartes does not support that maneuver.

tbf, you have to have 2000 warriors before you can found a new chapter to comply with the 'max 1000 warriors' rule.  When you dont even have a 1000 its hard to be relevant.

New chapters usually only consist of a few squads of veterans from the parent chapter to serve as the command staff and a giant bucket of geneseed from one of the Mechanicus' storage vaults for them to make new recruits from. The first few hundred years of a chapter's existence is usually spent creating the marines that will form the bulk of it's numbers and getting them trained up. They don't wait until a chapter has excess marines and then split them in half.

Yeh, you can split a chapter before it reaches the limit.

The trigger for new chapter creation is usually when the parent chapter is in reasonable health and doesn't need to call on geneseed reserves and there is enough geneseed in the vaults to make a chapter wholecloth with a bit left over. Then the High Lords send a request for a command staff to the parent chapter, the chapter usually donates a vaunted champion to be the new chapter master, a chaplain, a librarian, an apothecary and a techmarine, plus the squad of the new chapter master to be the new captains. They then oversee the selecting, implanting and training of the initiates drawn from the new chapter's assigned worlds.

Alternatively, the many family chapters of the original legion and/or the initiating chapter's allies all supply a small amount of geneseed and equipment. The interesting thing about that is that it makes it gradually easier for any chapter family to make new chapters, hence why the Ultrasmurfs have so many annoying clone children.

It also means there'll be a little bit of flesh tearer in every new Bangle chapter.
