The world sounds very interesting and should be fun to play in and as an Oracle's main stat is charisma I will have quite a lot of it

Also, what's the DM's judgement on a mobile forge?  I can buy an anvil, bellows, hammer/artisan tools, a barrel/bucket for water...  Would that suffice to repair items?  I assume that to make new items I'd need to get coal and bricks to make a proper forge and get the metal hot.  At what point would we shift from "Not workable." to "You get 1/4 rate for crafting while adventuring." to "You have a fuckin' mobile forge!"?  Granted that my skills are into armor and weapon craft, primarily

The question is less could you have a mobile forge and more if you could have a mobile forge that does everything you want it to. (which the answer is no unless it was really impressive or magical which is far outside your current budget.).

Will you be giving us more info on the setting ?

Will we know  each other at start?
Do we know where we will (collectively or individually) be starting?

Yeah I've bolted myself to my seat and am now compiling the information earnestly. So if anyone has any little tidbits they forgot and want to add, now is pretty much your last chance.

---

As for where you will be starting, there are two logical starting locations, however the most neutral one is the Dwarven Borehole.

It is essentially a inverted Spire and city controlled somewhat by the Dwarves that connects the surface world to the underground.

Though the Grotten Influence, the rulers of the world, weighs heavily there.

Thing about a porta-forge is that you'd need something to heat metals, would you not?

Hammering cold metal doesn't really work, and a regular fire, even with bellows, probably wouldn't quite cut it.
Yeah, that's what I've been fussing over.  I think a large fireforged steel cube would be the only real option, and coal and/or magical fire.  Maybe a Mithril forge instead...  Up to DM say, overall though.  I know it's beyond my current capabilities, but I'm thinking ahead as well.

NINJA:  Oh!  I made the borehole :D  Essentially think 'open face diamond mine' design, except really deep.  Just strip-mined straight down to the good ore.  Citizens naturally started digging into the sides of the hole and a large city founded.

The only surface nations that survived both the Nethys Culling and the March of Grotten are ones who have very powerful defenses.

In the Borehole's case it is extremely defensive being completely below the surface with an large army for its size. Dakama is a near unlivable wasteland with large magical walls and demons wandering the desert countryside making it an extremely unattractive prospect. While East March is carved into a cliff face.

You realize this is Bay12, so if we start in the Borehole, we're just not leaving the underground.  The entire campaign will be cave crawls.

So you want me to start you off in East March?

Also embarassingly enough I missed a diety. Luckly there are no clerics.

I'm just sayin', if you want us to have surface ventures we're gonna need to start up there, or you're gonna have to get creative and force us up.

Oh ho ho, east march isn't any better than bore hole, I warn you. In fact, expect lots of crimes down there.
