Oh my God. that mission is hilariously awful. I am having a hard time tracking where everyone is,
I don't have ANY clue what's happening.  IC or OOC.

You're telling me. This is my first, to boot. I'm trying my best here but all I've done is fall out of a shuttle and shout a lot.

I just decided to not bother, since my character's not on it anyway.

I give up on xcom 2.  I just had 3 enemies move and attack DURING my turn. Like, I moved a character and suddenly they just all acted at once as though it were there turn, then gave it back to me. Lost two units in that shit.

And this is after the patch.

Not to mention every mission is "get here in 8 turns while we throw 4 archons at you. Yeah, I know they're flying around without cover but they still get bonuses to defense for no reason!"

Why the fuck does poison spread between units by touch?

Why does it keep showing me that small, empty grass fields are on fire?

Why can I take full cover behind nothing?

A tactics game with a cheating AI thats bugged out the ass is not fun.

Dirty xenos spreading propaganda to the effect that poison can be cured by fondling.

And it's perfectly possible to take cover behind large quantum objects that don't interact with electromagnetic radiation.

Great Raptor Jesus, I look away for a few months, and you guys destroy the whole universe? Who won the bets on that?

In related news, it turns out that Completely Fucked is a status ailment.

Wish it was in more RPGs.

@PW

Seriously, play XCOM Long War--make sure to activate both cinematic mode and dynamic war.  Long War is actually less buggy than basic XCOM, and is a much better game in many ways.  With Dynamic War turned on, it isn't too long, and cinematic mode makes it fairly straightforward, rather than brutally punishing.

It's also really easy to set up, as long as you already have XCOM installed.  Just download the mod's .exe from the nexus, run it, and done.

wait xcom 2 has long war already?

Clearly running multiple missions at the same time is a terrible idea.  The epic battle to see which team can cock it up worse has escalated again.

And Larry kinda gets blueballed in all this; just left with a raging bone spear and no where to put it.

Now I'm on a mission where the AI just isn't workign. They're all just standing around doing nothing and the alien turn takes like 5 minutes to complete.

I'VE CONFUSED IT WITH MY CUNNING STUNTS!

I tried long war. Wasn't that impressed and didn't really enjoy it much.

I liked the original, though never beat it. Mostly because once you reach late game it takes an abusively long time to complete a mission. You can have like 20 or something soldiers at a time so missions take a lifetime.

The reason I don't like the long war is probably due more to my initial impressions, where I was given a bunch of different items that I wasn't familiar with and found them to be anemic compared to the ones you start with in the normal xcom. Like the flack grenade, I think it was. That strikes me as just plan less useful than the normal grenade. Sure it can do more damage, but it doesn't have the versatility of blowing up a fucking wall if I remember right.
