Miasmatic: A Necromancer's Tale
« on: January 29, 2016, 02:13:50 am »

Spoiler: Note from Kevak (click to show/hide)

Deep below the earth, within a forgotten ruin, ancient sigils and sigla flare to life. Defensive wards meant to repel even the Archmagi of olden times flicker and fail as a trio of faithful walk unhindered. The power drained from aeons of inactivity. Where battlements and creatures of Power once would have fought and died, now are naught but ruins and bones. The most ageless of defenders still hold their essence, drained as it is. Ancient bones creak as hobbled Sentinels stumble to their feet and preform their one and only purpose. Protect the Citadel. Blades clash in the dark as skeletal warriors awaken, alone and in groups to protect that with lays Sleeping. Among the last magical constructs in the land, fighting until they can move no longer. The Cradle and its contents must be protected.

A Screech that can wake the Dead echoes through the halls.

You awaken. That which you lay upon is not pleasing. It is dark. You hunger and you thirst. You are cold.

Warm ourselves with our hate. Eat and drink the darkness.

Get up, stretch out. Check over ourselves and our belongings, the surroundings.

Warm ourselves with our hate. Eat and drink the darkness.
You don't really feel any sort of emotion currently. Unless you count muscle atrophy, hunger, and thirst as emotions. You currently haven't the slightest idea how one would consume a lack of light. The thought puzzles you.

Get up, stretch out. Check over ourselves and our belongings, the surroundings.
You proceed to sit up and immediately bang your head on the ceiling. Which in turn causes you to jolt backwards, letting out a startled yip of pain and bang your head on the floor you were resting on. You decide to just curl up and clutch at your now throbbing head.

You feel the air shift a bit, a low grating noise can be heard, stone against stone. A loud Thump can be heard somewhere to your direct right. Although you are pretty sure there's a wall there based on what you can feel.
