Celling and Roboson were standing at the beach, waiting for the rest of the reinforcements to arrive and planning their siege tactics, when they spot a regiment of soldiers quick-marching towards them.

Their leader snapped off a salute. “Greetings from Antarctica, Captain Celling,” he said. Celling could now see that some of the soldiers were carrying strange armaments, small tubular things with wires sticking out.

The leader gestured to the soldiers. “I'm Edward Fansworth. The scientists finally cracked the problem of creating monochromatic light with a portable maser.”

It took Celling a second to process what this was about.  “Those are Andantesite disruptors!” he shouted.

“Yes, they are,” said Fansworth.

“Great! Okay, I want them split one to a squad to maximize the-”

“No, you can't,” Fansworth answered.

“...what?” said Celling.

“You aren't going to be commanding these soldiers,” he clarified. “I have orders from Sir Padelheb himself. These soldiers are under my command only. They are a relief force sent courtesy of the South and the Guardian of the State to assist the Argentinean government in managing their populace.”

Senior Strategist Roboson turned slightly to subtly whisper in Celling's ear. “Padelheb's trying to take credit,” he says.

What do you do?

A: Accept their help
B: Find some excuse to take them away
C: Reject their aid and call them out on trying to steal credit
D: Sabotage their efforts and allow the rebels to escape
E: Give them false information so you can catch the rebels first

D, but do so discretely, and try to make it so that the rebels can tell that we're trying to help them here.

Invoke trope: Good All Along

EDIT: Also, Imperial Stormtrooper Marksmanship Academy.

EDIT2: Shouldn't we have sanity and influence mods here?

Glass is, as usual, correct.
Yep, as ever, I bestow upon Glass the expected +1
I'm gonna say we go with whatever Glass's idea is.

With Merrowitz disabled - and, more importantly, my time dwindling - I'm changing that system.

How about the latest decision? I'd love if someone other than Glass spoke up.

Additionally, have Heel-Face Door Slam and Redemption Equals Death be Defied.

You gave us an opportunity to become not the bad guys and I will milk it for all it's worth, and I'm not letting you stop me with other tropes.

E. Inform them that they are working out of their jurisdiction here, given we do not respect panhelbs authority in any capacity and that they should stay out of our way if they want to avoid the empire being torn aprt.

...
  • That isn't E
  • That's got even more potential for backlash than my action and less chance of the plot shifting its favor to us

... fine. Any ideas on how we'll help the rebels?

I feel like giving Glass this chance was a bad, bad idea.

Well, for one, Imperial Stormtrooper Marksmanship Academy stops our "friends" from accomplishing anything.

Maybe a Conveniently Timed Distraction in the form of us Bothering by the Book allows the rebels to escape unnoticed.

Maybe we can give a Public Secret Message so the rebels can tell we're on their side while Padel thinks we're still at least kinda on his.

Anyone else got other ideas to this effect?
