Search the trash for anything we can eat or use.

Search the trash for anything we can eat or use.
After a moment's hesitation, you hop down to a trash pile and proceed to slide towards the bottom. The stench is somehow even worse down here. You hope you'll be able to clean yourself when you go back home.

Gained Status: Smelly Dragon

You start searching through the trash but after several minutes of digging through the piles you've found nothing you'd risk eating and nothing you think is worth grabbing. You've gathered whatever you found interesting in a stable-looking island of garbage, but a (probably broken) smartvac, 2 credits and a container full of soggy bread is not that impressive. Still, this area is large and you think you're getting the hang of searching the piles. You could keep searching and hope you find more interesting things.

You're about to move on when you hear something moving under some trash. Sounds like something long slithering between paper. It doesn't sound too big, but it might be enough to fill your stomach. You think you could pounce on it. Or you could decide on a different tactic. Or ignore it and do something else.

Sneak up on it and impale it on a claw, then rip its throat out.

You carefully sneak towards the noise, making sure to walk on stable and quiet footing. You get close enough to be able to see what it is, close enough that you could attack it. The thing making the noise is a long albino-white tube of flash, about as thick as your leg. It has something like a mouth that it's using to taste the things around it, as if it's searching for something to eat. It's so long you can't tell where it ends, it disappears into the murky liquid below. It has no eyes you can see, it probably relies on touch.

Probably a good thing you didn't pounce on it. You're not sure where its vital bits are, so if you just grabbed it with your claws it could had ended badly. Maybe you could just cut it somehow and drag it somewhere you can eat it at your leisure. If you managed to grab a big enough chunk you'd have enough food for a few days.

Is there something long and sharp in the trash? We could use that to jam it into the ground to stab it so we don’t touch it

You could find something sharp, you remember coming across such things, but the problem with that plan is that there's no ground, just piles and piles of trash, being held together by gravity and friction and solidified sludge. It's not a very strong material. You could impale something on that, but if that something is strong it could break free.

We should see how it reacts to something poking it first, preferably not us directly. If it can move fast at will, we may have a bigger problem.

Chuck a small bit of trash(or anything really) at a part of its body, away from its head. Do this some distance away from it so as not to risk harm upon us.

You use your mouth to grab a hollow metal tube that's about as thick as your neck and made out of thin, flimsy-looking metal. (You try to ignore the taste.) You then toss the tube to the creature. The tube doesn't have time to reverberate after the impact, the moment it falls on the creature the thing moves in an unnatural, reflexive way, more like a carnivorous plant than an animal, wrapping its body around the tube with enough strength to crush it, sending lighter trash flying as it whips about. For a moment it lies still and then the crushed tube is pulled into the murky liquid, disappearing from sight.

You're left watching the waves settle while your heart races. If that thing had caught your leg, escaping would had taken a lot of effort, especially if it had dragged you underwater. If that thing had caught your throat, it could had easily crushed it. You have no hope of defeating such a creature with your body and instincts alone. You need something more, a weapon or a plan. Maybe it would be best to avoid this creature until you have something you can use against it, or at least until you get bigger. Still, the creature would make a very good meal, it makes the risk worth it.
