Well, thank Atheismo. I was afraid the forums had gone the way of the Bobby Tables incident.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Things I learned today: Triangles are the most dangerous of all geometric shapes. I'm safe, but most other people aren't. Huehuehuehue.

* Darvi plots to go all Triangle Man on people.

Nonsense. Large serrated circles is where it's at.

I prefer hexagons for their tessellation properties. Besides, with a hexagon I can easily make six triangles! Hexes have you beat.

Yay forums are back!
Sorry about that, by the way - kind of a consequence of changing my avatar.

Somehow managing to get A's in all my courseworks and tests so far. Dunno how I faired in the last one (apparently there's a bit of weirdness going on as a few people did really well and everybody else basically failed), but there's no way this can last xD

I somehow got 93/100 in my Computer Graphics Algorithms test, which is odd since I thought I did terribly 0_o My internet gaming coursework, which I basically hacked together in my own private 48 hour game jam, got me an A- (so about 70-74%). Apparently adding a bunch of doxygen comments to every function and handing that it for the documentation section of the write-up is a good thing :S

Not gonna complain though :P

I still like playing Civ ii every now and then. I feel like they really made the nukes weaker in every other game. In Civ v, a nuke doesn't even destroy a city.

Much of Nagasaki was spared the immediate explosive effects of the second atomic bomb because it was dropped in a valley which channeled the blast.

That said, if you drop a nuke unit on a city in a civilization game it should sure as hell destroy it.

It does, sometimes. It needs to be a non-capital city with low population for it to work, though.
