makes sense that you'd build walls

that aussie must be gyrating like a cheap descan knockoff
I think you just referenced a New Zealand hardware store advert from a few years back that contained a joke involving Aussies and building walls.
The punchline was that Australians are lazy and don't build their own walls.

*crickets*

d.i.y is a New Zealand tradition. Only problem is ...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Semple_tank

... yeah. Meanwhile we Aussies designed this:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sentinel_tank

It's the benefits on not asking someone's uncle to do something and actually hiring engineers. Both the Aussie and NZ WWII tanks had innovation: THe NZ tank was the first armored vehicle in the world to use regular corrugated iron roofing material as armor, whereas the Aussie tank was the first tank in the world to have it's hull cast as a single piece of steel. In Australia they also couldn't get the right type of engine for a tank, so they instead shoved 3 x Cadillac V8 petrol engines into the thing. Now, that is Aussie thinking. Yeah, fucking V8 Mate.

Oh man you NZ'ers are funny:
Quote
In the end, due to their impracticality, the tanks were rejected for use by the New Zealand Army, dismantled, and restored to their previous state as tractors.
Oh yeah, that tractor tank didn't work out, but why waste the tractor when it can go back to the farm?

To be fair, the only people dumb enough to invade NZ in the first place (what are they after? lifetime supply of dingleberries and cowpats?) would probably be defeated by a couple of tractor tanks anyway.

Even in fiction people don't invade NZ. The sole example I can think of is from that massive 900+ page round-robin thing where the Clancyverse Earth +50ly sphere around it got shoved into the Periphery of the BattleTech known universe, and those space pirates got their shit stomped by infantry and cargo loaders.

I bought Dark Souls 1 while it was on sale on steam, even got a usb xbox controller to play it with, but I'm still not sure if I made a correct decision here. Maybe I should still hold out til DS 2 is on sale...

Russia, yer so inspiring.

Quote
In one memorable episode, the tanks entered a village occupied by German troops and while under fire were able to tow away 24 German guns.
The tank in question was the russian equivalent to the NZ tractor tank, the NI.

I just picked up a copy of the 5e Dungeon Master's Guide at my LFGS last night (since they're part of the early release program and get advance copies). I'm only about 30 pages into it so far (though I did spend some time skipping ahead to look at magic items and such), and it has good advice on manageable world building and introducing world-shaking events into a campaign and suchlike. Something I'm really happy they included is advice on using hex maps at various scales, since it's something I've wanted to implement but didn't quite know how to use until now.

This isn't a full review or anything since I haven't even read the full book yet, but I felt like sharing/bragging.

So, today I went to a concert cause music classes in our school require at least 2 reviews an year. It had a couple of love songs and stuff, and at some point I realized I hadn't actually given the girl I asked out a single compliment. (Yes, I am in fact an idiot)

So I sent her a message and that said she was beautiful as soon as I got home and promptly fucked off to do homework cause that was the first compliment I had actually made without being drunk and I was kinda freaking out about it.

Checked my messages just now. She seems to have liked it.

If anyone else here has someone they want to say something nice to, I suggest you get off your butt and do it.
