Also, try pronouncing with overly stereotypical british accent. Clearly. It helps if you mumble.

If it's not the mental block, then you can improve your English by exercising alone. You don't really need converastion partners, as they are unlikely to correct your mistakes. You just need to sit down with a good book about phonetics and another one concerning vocabulary exercises.
When I read a written text aloud, pronunciation isn't a problem at all. It's when I try talking freely and/or a bit too fast, then everything becomes a jumble.
Talking slowly does yield an improvement, though.

I don't really need somebody to point out mistakes, as I'm aware of them at most times. If in doubt, I'll ask.

I'll come back at your book advice, shouldn't I experience any improvment in the next 3 months, as I'm dealing with a lot of problem right now and simply... well I just can't start anything new right now. After that I should have enough time on my hands for anything.

Also, try pronouncing with overly stereotypical british accent. Clearly. It helps if you mumble.
That's the way we were taught actually. It might have something to do withy my current problems.
Probably tried violently switching from British English to American English and it didn't work out.

Haha, you guys >_>

I remember how to do basic integration/derivatives/vector calculus most of the time, but in general it's not as important nowadays.  When I need to remember something special, I can just look it up in a table... and most everything that I used to have to learn by heart, I can reintuit nowadays because my general skills are stronger.

I just don't have it memorized in the "I'm about to take the BC calc exam" way anymore.

EDIT: Oh my god, everything is arbitrary.

Auuuuuuuugh.  Suddenly, existential crisis.

"Oh well, I guess I'll just stay up an extra hour or so to finish writing this paper."

*some time later*

"Well, I've done a fair bit. I wonder what the time is?"

*checks time; it's 4AM*

"...Fuck."

I swear, this is just happening to me more and more often now. I know it's unheaalthy, I know it won't help my studies, I know people are just going to hate me for it, but I just can't friggin stop. I lose track of time after a while and then this happens.

I'm at the point now where I'm forgetting things to say as I'm saying them. I was planning on writing so me more for this post, and now I forgot. Grah.

Out of boredom I looked in on the Fort Mew-Mew "RP" thread and the entire last page was *kisses*, *smiles*, *looks around*, and implied-sex via *fun is had*. I'm not sure when 'roleplaying' became synonymous with 'perform mundane, contentless actions involving awkward online "love" affairs' but apparently my definition was way off.

that said, I'm sad that that 'fort' isn't in an IRC channel.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.
