I decided to visit my old fortress, Roofravens, and see if I could pick up some steel gear. When I got there, however, I found that there was a Great war going on there. Yak Bulls, Goats and Mountain Gnomes had wandered into the fortress from above, while troglodytes, crundles, elk birds and a GCS had wandered up from the depths, and they all started killing each other. Wanting to upgrade my crappy copper sword, I rushed in regardless. Both my comrades were immediately struck down by Yak bulls, and I was besieged by the Gnome/Troglodyte allegiance, and therefore unable to help.
After running away from the countless creatures, I found myself in the bedroom area of my fortress. I wandered around, finding nothing valuable, and decided look back upstairs. Big mistake. I ran past an Elk bird, who somehow managed to mortally wound my Demi-God armor-clad adventurer, and found myself facing the GCS. Fearlessly, I rushed to battle, and managed to knock it unconscious with a well placed blow to the head. Suddenly, I saw Troglodyte #46 and decided to take him out. I landed one blow, then the GCS regained consciousness for just long enough to spray webs all over me and give the troglodyte the chance to punch through my brain. The GCS then promptly died.
