That is a good point, and I wanna clarify I wasn't against moving water by the way, it's a fine suggestion.

EDIT: Also uhh, maybe remake the thread when the big update hits with someone that's still around to keep the OP updated? :P

Flamethrowerrrrrr oh maaaannn

I hope the ammo isn't too hard to get.

Devblog:

Of course, you're going to want something to do with all the gel you've collected...

So fuel/ammo should not be a big issue.

As for me concerning the last devblog update, I will just quote myself
I can't remember if it's planned for the next update, but new boss(es) is what I'm really waiting for. Hopefully, the next boss won't be a pushover like the ones already in.

Oh, and next best thing is holy biome, with hopefully plenty of unicorn (other goodly creature) to slaughter.

This update will feel like it's christmas, without the stupids socks.

Kinda hope the flamethrower sets wood and trees on fire. That'd be awesome.

Screw everything else- Web and I can put a skeet shooting setup in our flying castle and make it that much more awesome.

We need to set up range numbers.

Hmm, they are threatening that the new boss should not be faced alone.
Didn't they plan for skeletor to require a team? Short of 30k HP and natural 50 damage, I don't feel worried.

Maybe its something like that eva ep, hum, where the boss comes in two (or more) parts and if you don't kill them more or less simultaneously, their partner(s) respawns 'em.

... and they're on the other ends of the map. I could see a huge ass kraken popping up in the background and spawning tentacles in both the oceans, as well as causing standing water of sufficient depth to spawn little krakenlings. You'd have all the tentacles dead at the same time to kill the boss and stop the krakenling onslaught, but not damaging one group long enough causes 'em to start spawning new tentacles in the other group (which is on the other side of the map~).

Something like that would be both interesting and a 'haha bite me' to single player :P

Or it could be something as simple as just having a boss that has two parts that have to be hit in short sequence to each other to cause actual damage. Loner could do it with piercing attacks and maybe explosives, but multiple people would make it much easier.

Gimmicks can do things to force encourage grouping that damagebloat could never accomplish :P

Oh yeah, that's just what Terraria needs, punishment for people who don't like being griefed in multiplayer.

And then, they will be weaponized. Like everything in this game, from kittens to babies, everything is a potential device of murder.
So if baseless speculation is all we have, we might as well treat it like fact.

Q: Is there a 'boot player' option yet? I never host servers, so...

I'd be okay with two player required bosses assuming they don't spawn in single player. Because really what'd be the point?

If someone DOES manage to kill a multiplayer boss in singleplayer, BRAGGING RIGHTS also cheats maybe?

On the top banner there's a blue guy (goblin?), a wizard guy (beard, pointy hat, stars), and some girl with orange-red hair. WHO COULD THESE MYSTERIOUS FIGURES BE??

Pretty sure they're new NPCs that we'll have to somehow rescue (since they're shown here tied up). Also, my bet's on the girl being a mechanic.
