... the trick to laying rail is to lay rail while riding it, if you haven't noticed already. Smart-select or whatever that default-control-key mode is is the trick. Track ends up pretty wobbly lookin', but it works.

To be fair, I was on a small world, but going from spawn to the western ocean probably took... ten, fifteen minutes? Fall off a lot, but that's what your hook's for.

Also weird that you'd say that, etg -- I've had the pump liquid duplication work just fine with the outlet set on top of a platform, with nothing to slide off in the way.

ah...its the input that is duplicating the liquid then, taking partial amounts of liquid and rounding it up. Duplication does not work when liquid is falling from output to input.
As an example of it not duplicating.

Try pumping the water offscreen.

IIRC it does not affect the origin pool.

And yes i've been riding the rails, avoiding killing lava slimes, killing painful lava bats, eviscerating fire imps to avoid dying to 100 dmg fireballs on expert, and avoiding the shit out of red demons that deal 300 damage on me even with 94 def (2-shot).

...you can get a bucket that produces infinite water. I fail to see the need of these systems.

Automation.

Honey and lava don't really work well using a bucket, setting up automated obsidian, honey blocks and crispy honey to where you just go over to a spot and mine infinite amounts.

Can get =/= have, isp :V

1/70th isn't the best of chances, and it kinda' helps to have more water before that 10th angler quest, too.

Well at one point the engine force-settles all water anyway if there's too much flowing. I've gotten this from digging out a sky island, turning it into a giant bowl, and then filling it with water. If it is large enough and has a 2-tile wide hole in the bottom, it will drain infinitely until the engine decides that it shouldn't.
How long does that take, and what's it look like?

There's also no unlimited lava or unlimited honey bucket. Though even if there were, I'd still prefer having an automated system that can refill itself without me doing anything.

That's honestly not that terrible. 50 or so for a 1/40 chance? My character's luck has been fairly extreme. I had to kill about 140 sharks for a diving helmet, and over a thousand angry bones/dark casters for the ancient necro helmet (the clothier voodoo doll didn't drop until about 700 either). On the other hand, I got all three pieces of the ancient shadow armor from incidental kills on the way to more important things, and I found a slime staff by a lava pool on my first trip that deep.

Lost all my accumulated unplaced marble/granite block wealth.

Steam crashed.
Returned to a world just as it was at the time of the crash and a character about 5-10 min before the crash.
I picked up my entire supply of marble and granite because I felt like building my base up more.

It takes almost an Ocean's amount of falling water blocks. Make it happen easily by throwing dynamites everywhere till you reach hell.

What happens is that the game assumes all the falling water is invalid and therefore transports/warps them straight to where they should be.

Puff of logic.

Water in any amount also settles during map loading. If there's a ton of water clogging up your hellevator and cloning itself, you can just vent the whole thing to hell and reload the map.

And then, they will be weaponized. Like everything in this game, from kittens to babies, everything is a potential device of murder.
So if baseless speculation is all we have, we might as well treat it like fact.

Moon Lord arena is around 43.98% complete.

Did some testing; I need to actually adjust the speed at which I run because moony keeps porting in and out.

Hell makes for an awesome arena though; I'll make half of it cut right through the terrain without bumps in height.

oh and i need to cut the jumps :/
