Actually, apart from chilling around, Eldar are trying to create a God Of Dead, the Ynnead which will stop their souls to be raped forever by Slannesh when they die without those soulstones of theirs. As with Slannesh, which they fucked into existence, the way to make Ynnead is... dying hard enough. Considering what is going to happen (Power of everything goes up by billionfold), they are on good way to do it. Antromorphic Personifications are hard.
FUCKING AGE OF SIGMAR GOD-EMPEROR DAMN IT
Actually, they could advance the plot a bit, but only by not upsetting the balance of power. So no face-heel turn of Age Of Sigmar but rather a bunch of new guns and guys that go nicely with everything else. Also maybe some new wars (did we have any (except DoW, but even there it's not complete) where everyone fought everyone?) or stuff.

EDIT: Though, it should be noticed that they can do that perfectly without advancing the storyline. Skitarii confirm.

What about the spacemarine spacemarines?

We already have those. They're called Terminators.

Which hive fleet hit Iyanden?
Have forgotten.
Eeeeeeeeerr, Kraken I think? I know Maugun Ra killed literally all of them on his own though.
I think it was a splinter fleet.
I seem to recall a story about Iyanden having a really desperate fight and losing so deciding to call up a whole bunch of extra wriathguard out of the infinity circuit, much to everyone's sorrow.
Then as soon as they make all the extra non-refundable wraithguard, the D-Eldar turn up and win it for them. They'd all like, "Why", to which the dark elves reply 'we found your juvenile attempts at necromancy entertaining'.

If I were advancing the story, I'd have Ynnead kill the fuck out of Slannesh (sorry bae, I'm not into that kinky shit) but accidentally mantle the Nightbringer. Hilarity Ensues.

It's not like Warhammer Fantasy had anything of worth anyway.
