Oddly enough, two nights in fairly short succession (I didn't note down my dreams from the night before last) I've had two dreams, the first starring me as myself in the first person, and the second about someone else in a completely different setting, in third person.
Unfortunately I couldn't remember a whole lot of either of my dreams last night, but they were interesting.
In the first one I was in some sort of dingy, rather strange city filled with dark, twisting little alleyways, dive bars and a lot of crime and... well, scary weirdness, I guess. Early on in the dream this incredibly eccentric couple were involved somehow, I don't remember much about them but I know the man had swarthy skin and a haircut shaped like an inverted triangle on his forehead. They seemed to be heavily into funk music and drugs, and the main scene I remember about them was where they skipped out of a restaurant without paying... and apparently came back later to pay for it.
Not sure how I knew these two, or if I even did, really. I know they had a few adventures in the dream.
At some point I bumped into some guys that I knew, two of whom were performing in a bar that I happened to pass. Interestingly enough, they were based on a pair of buskers that I saw IRL the day before yesterday, for some reason they stuck in my head and ended up in this dream.
Later on, there was some sort of concert that I wanted to go to, and for whatever reason I was taking my mother along, too. We got there and were let into the venue (I have no idea who were playing or what kind of music it was) but I had to leave again, apparently to go get something.
I was walking down this large street which eventually devolved into more of a pot-holed path/dirt road, with few streetlights, run-down buildings and a lot of menace. I was walking over some marshy ground when I noticed movement- there was someone on the ground beneath a shrub.
Foolishly, I stopped and may have said something, curious to see what was happening, and this kid sprang out, incredibly dirty with a feral snarl, a syringe full of some sort of drug clutched in one hand and a razorblade in the other.
Apparently he thought I was going to steal his drugs, and despite me assuring him that I wasn't and backing away with my hands raised, the kid attacked me before I could escape, giving me a tiny cut on my right wrist with the razorblade.
It wasn't a terribly big wound, but I was terrified by the prospect of getting infected with something.
Pretty sure I still went and got whatever it was I was sent to get, and then ran back to the concert venue in a bit of a panic. As I went in I explained what had happened to the door people, they advised me to go straight to the hospital and I almost broke down crying. Then I went in, presumably gave my mother whatever she'd sent me to get, and then went back out again.
Before long though, I'd pretty much forgotten about the scratch on my hand and was happily partying again.
Don't remember much more, except I met those two buskers again, for something like the third time. They were playing at some even smaller bar, lit by a red light bulb, and the small audience was mostly people I knew. It seemed that they had become progressively drunker as the night went on, and progressively less able to play. I had a laugh about it with one of their friends, some guy wearing a leather jacket. They were trying to cover some well-known song and completely butchering it.
Can't remember much else. Don't think dream-me ever went to the hospital or the concert. Or maybe I did, I dunno.
I wish I could remember more of this dream, it was pretty awesome- especially the weird city and that crazy couple from earlier on.
A pity I can't remember more of them.
I only really remember the last scene of this dream, unfortunately.
It centred around a power struggle in some sort of space station/base/castle with a lot of large, dramatic rooms with orange-brown walls, (henceforth known as 'place') between this dragon-creature (who looked suspiciously like an action figure I once had of the Desolate One from Hellboy, right down to the posable limbs) who had recently taken power and some small, elf-type person who claimed that he should be able to tend to... some creatures held in the place, either prisoners or some sort of livestock.
That was what he was trained for, he said, pleading his case, but the dragon woman was having none of it.
Suddenly another elf came in, an unfamiliar one, and greeted the farmer. I (I don't think I was actually in the dream myself) couldn't understand what they said, but when the dragoness demanded an explanation the farmer elf explained that he'd known the other one a year ago. I get the feeling elf-years were somewhat longer than human years.
At that the new elf, with a bit of a maniacal grin, agreed and added, "I've been sent to kill you!" as he whipped out a sword from somewhere. Clearly someone with power amongst these elves didn't appreciate the dragon-woman preventing whatever it is they usually did in the place.
Cue a rather short fight scene with a lot of artful camera angles- the first sign of how the battle was going was one of the dragon's arms flying into short, trailing green blood. I was disgusted and annoyed by this, since it seemed stupid to me that this little elf could somehow slice the dragoness apart.
Anyway, she tried to flee and was chased down and chopped to pieces, much to my displeasure.
The farmer wasn't pleased by this development either, being a peaceful sort, but the dream ended there before he could really either complain or go and tend to the creatures the fight was over.
