That's not how it works. He's from dragon quest, we just need to pay a bit to resurrect him, right?

...right?

Well.

And I was planning on adding Slog in as a character in my fan-game.

I'm pretty sure most of the laws of the dragonquest world that are not related to his biology ceased applying the moment he was pulled into the warrens.

Since when do characters stay dead?

We should take Slog's body and stick it in that machine in the Greens.
!!!

Best case: Slog lives!

Other Best Case: It's okay, because New Slog loves you already!

Also since I remember now, hey FFS! You remember that linking thing you mentioned earlier? Is that still a thing, and I'm curious what kinds of games you expected/wanted to be a part of that. I'd love to hear more about it, if you're feeling talkative.

I shouldn't be posting here, but you guys do realize that in addition to Slog's death and the bot still attacking, Yaos is about one or two turns away from his relatively unspecified doom. If you're going to make a fix, you need to make it now, and it needs to be a lot better than what you've been trying. You can be brilliant if you really want to be.
Do we know that for a fact? I haven't been able to figure out the pattern at all yet. I have been skimming a lot of posts, though, so if somebody'd figured it all out I might not actually know about it.

Slog is illborn, so we're not getting any soulcharge from his death. So no oversoul.

I think slog is pretty much dead dead.

Yaos' soul star is unhealthy. When we are done this fight, ask him to put it in storage until we figure it out. That should buy him some time.

I think slog is pretty much dead dead.

No. Just no, damn it. I'll do something. Slog won't die, I'll find a way to bring him back if it means twisting the very fabric of space-time to intervene. But he's not going to die after I replayed both Dragon Quest Monsters Joker games for the sole purpose of having him in my party and grow strong enough to kill A ranked monsters with ease. I don't care how trivial this is, I began a quest to help Slog become more than just a throw away minion, and I won't give this up. I understand fully that this is merely an internet game. This knowledge does nothing to change the intense emotions I feel at this moment, however.

Well alright then.

So anyway, things to test with Slog's Death.

1) Effects of a save reset with dead party member.
2) Effect of Greens on Illborne body.
3) If it is possible to set bodies in Skill Trees, and if so what does it do.
4) If Mercenaries respawn at mercenary screen.

Well. As much as we know anything for a fact that hasn't been explicitly stated to be so by Word of God.

We had some pretty compelling evidence even before, but now that THERE ARE NO NUMBERS AT ALL AFTER THE RED 8, I'd say it confirms the doom theory pretty hardcore.

If we're going to preemptively murder Yaos to avoid whatever the hell doom happens (because I almost guarantee it's not just him/her having a critical existence failure) we need to do it right now. Which sucks, because I don't like the idea of wasting our turn to kill Yaos while we've got a friggin Deathbot staring down our throat and our only other party member already not existing.

I think we need to kite the Deathbot into attacking Yaos and not us. If it kills Yaos, doomsday averted, and Yaos probably took away more of the Deathbot's HP, letting us finish him. If not, then it means Yaos has slain the doombot, and we have enough time probably to finish Yaos off.

The third possibility in this situation, though, is that neither kills the other before the doom clock runs out.... in which case, hold on to your goddamn hats.
