Huh, nice. I'd prefer some actual information or reveal before boarding any hype wagon, though. Good to know the series is well and alive, though.

Not boarding the hype train until I know more. DoW 2 was decent but it didn't grab me like DoW 1. Too much "let's not make an RTS, let's make an RTT Moba style game" completely killed it for me. Less units, smaller battles, worse terrain interaction, destruction and design. Very little about your guys actually fighting felt satisfying. Usually it was "heavy weapons, vehicles and characters" with infantry basically just being cannon fodder so you could micro your heroes. The whole package was a disappointment to me other than the SP campaign, and even those levels were BORING. (Yes, let us take our 4 marines and spend 30 minutes attacking isolated little blips on the map until they've been cleared. Then let's do it again but starting from the opposite side of the map.) The most "interesting" part of the SP campaign was fighting eldar grav platforms and emplaced weapons and trying to figure out how to approach them without getting shot. So very 40K. (In fairness, the battle for Angel Falls was pretty cool. Lots of enemies pouring in constantly, artillery fire, it was pretty intense. It's the only cool mission that I actually remember though.)

If DoW 3 is going to double down on DoW 2, I have zero interest in it.

I kinda agree honestly. Tho Chaos Rising still, to me, has one of the best campaigns in any RTS to date, mostly because how beautifully they nailed the morality system, better than in most RPGs even. Tho the shitty boss fights still kinda remained :S

In any case, I'm just happy to see it's not dead and that something is happening with it. The hype is about another 40k RTS being made, can't wait to see how it turns out which is when I'll actually get hyped about it or just go back to playing the first two games.

I sincerely hope that the new game will have better voice acting. Having your immortal demigods of war say things like "spehss muhreens" and "Bruvah ay ehm hitt!" tends to destroy the suspension of disbelief harder than a hive tyrant destroys fire warriors in close combat.

Or maybe that's just the general effect of 40K taking itself so damn seriously.

I hope the new games have better voice, I liked DOW for its gameplay and such, If bosses are improved I will be happy.

Looks like DoW3 was being talked about and speculated at late last year, but only now has the domain name been registered? With THQ folding and all that, I'm sure they didn't feel like it was the time to announce the game or make noise about it. Now that SEGA I guess is with them, and they've been able to work, now is the time to secure the domain name.
