B Religious freedom is one thing. Threats from big aggressive empires from the south is another matter entirely. Though I still personally find the acceptance of Damed a disgusting choice in our empire. As as far as I'm concern it's less of a Religion and more of an tool used to spread the influence and power of the Damdamian Empire. Damdamians have never brought anything but trouble to us Northerners.

Oops. But thinking about it more, I'm still going to go with A. I actually think that the Damdamians launching a crusade would more than likely end well for us. I can think of three ways it would play out if they choose to launch a war of faith in the near future.

A: They decide to divide and conqueror, attacking all their northern neighbors in equal measure. We would likely beat back such a watered down attack, and become the leaders of an anti Damdamian alliance in the process. Perhaps we might even get to peacefully assimilate a neighbor or two; Become part of their empire, you lose your religion, but join ours and you can worship whatever the hell you feel like.
B: They decide to focus on attacking one of our neighbors. In this case, we have options; We can either invade whichever nation they attack to grab a piece for ourselves, or invade them while they are pre-occupied with an offensive war.
C: They decide to focus on attacking us. This is the worst case scenario, but also the least likely; They have to know we are not going to be an easy conquest. We also have a Diplomatic Corps hopefully working on winning their favor and friendship. Even if they do focus on us, we can likely call upon the all-divines and our son-in-law for backup, while having martial sons and superior siege weapons to boot. It would be messy, but by no means would we be straight up doomed.

You hush and shush your courtiers. Cult of Damed is welcome in Methiant, and therefore provides a soft cushion against Damdamian aggression, or at least you hope so. There's no need to panic (yet).

1148 AD, Mid-Autumn

You get news from the Orcworld; apparently a forty strong group of mercenaries, scholars and soldiers is going to journey southwards from the tunnel, in hopes of reaching a settlement of Ur-uk, the desire to learn and establish contact with these species being the main topic on the minds of scribes and researchers at the moment.

Meanwhile, you receive a report from one of your royal diplomats, Aólwach, currently working in the northlands. Apparently, the old King Heid of Helliste is looking for a groom for the third and youngest of his daughters, Bjeda, who is eighteen, and is said to have a beautiful singing voice.

A) A perfect match for young Eivan, who himself is barely twenty.
B) A lady like her will help distract Saenn from memories of his lost eye.
C) Not a wife I'm looking for my sons, unfortunately.
