How fun is SPAMKINGDOM series?

Mind-bogglingly popular game series that you follow from early on and cannot stop, waiting for new installment like a drooling addict.
Long-runner soap opera you're too invested into to just stop watching it.
A fun little comic strip in the daily newspaper that's been around forever.
3/6
Who said it's fun? I didn't for sure.
I'm just waiting here for it to die horribly already so it will stop showing on my Unread Posts list.

You decide to give the alchemists lots of money to keep Fireblood flowing.

1108 AD, Midwinter

Money from Lametania arrives in your Treasury, with letter of thanks from King Umar; your soldiers helped get rid of most bandit groups by now.

1108 AD, End of the Year

You walk back and forth in your chambers till the arrival of the Advisor and those Scrolls of Kingdom Status he has. As he gets here, you cautiously open these sacred parchments...

Happiness: 5
Population: 7
Economy: 5
Army: 3

You see a three where you defintiely wouldn't want to see it.

"What happened there?"

"Well," The Advisor scratches his beard, "Our Fireblood stocks went in flames, some soldiers are in Lametania, and senior alchemists and engineers in Cydwyl and thus unavailable..."

"Right, right."

1109 AD, Spring

Another incidents with the Hurthlings happened.

This time, some of the bolder little peoples decided to go and hunt for some game animals. It would be fine if they weren't hunting in an hunting glade reserved for local nobleman and his potential guests. The hunting continued for a while before the locals noticed, and over forty animals (mostly boars) have been killed.

This has angered the nobleman in question, who took justice into his hands and killed the leader of this hunting group, said leader being son of a prominent Hurthling clan. There has been brawls and muggings on the border with hurthlings due to this, the report from northern governor says.

You decide to...

A) Send a letter to Hurthlings, telling them to get off Methiant soil forever.
B) Demand that the nobleman compensates the Hurthlings.
C) Send a letter to Hurthlings, asking that they do not break the law anymore, or there will be consequences.
D) Ignore this incident.
E) Send letters to both parties, urging them to find a peaceful solution to this dispute.

E OK. Economy doing pretty decent. That 5 is nice to see. Really wish the Military was a lot bigger by now but we can't have everything... at least not yet. Hey this might actually be a good mon.... And then some dumb ass noble and Hurthlings ruined the this is pretty ok time feelings. I miss King Luath.

E specifically combining both B and C; the Hurthlings have to abide by the laws if they want to remain here, but even if you are a nobleman you cannot just go around killing people without paying the weregild.

The same sentiment, but the opposite choice.

Are our military reforms fully implemented yet?

I'll say E is probably the way to go here (although I would like B, we can't just now).

One reason I'm all fired up about a professional standing army is that, historically, they were a powerful weapon for breaking the power of the nobility. So long as the army is kept loyal, and the citizens happy, we can tell the nobility to go jump in a lake.

It goes without saying that keeping noble parasites out of the army is a top priority. In the same vein, sending our heir to the military (and not giving him special privileges while there) is also a very smart thing to do.

At some point we will probably have to found some kind of pointless display force (probably a "elite" cavalry company)  as a dumping ground for noble's sons, just to keep them out of any real positions of military power.

Ally the crown with the Commons, and staff the military with commoners, and we will rule supreme.

And who knows. With a professional army, maybe, if we screw up really badly, we can see the Marshal declaring himself king!
