There is a sharp
bang and Padelheb is dead.
"Erin, in case you forgot, there's an entire force of reality that's out for your head. One that could be redirected onto Padel should he be kept alive.
You're supposed to be able to think about things like this, mate."
You really think the plot is going to designate Padelheb as the main villain? Especially when he’s already been defeated? And letting him escape would be too disastrous. Even from a jail cell, I have no doubt he could bring the Republic to its knees. He simply can’t be left to talk his way out of whatever punishment we give him.
Guards rush into the room and take aim at Quill.
He steps back, drops his gun, and holds his hands above his head, still clutching the vial of bioweapon.
The guards glance at Padelheb’s body. One turns back to Quill. “What did you just do?”
“Shot Padelheb,” Quill says bluntly. “Don’t worry, he deserved it.”
“Put your hands behind your back,” the guard says. He handcuffs Quill. “Give me that,” he says, grabbing for the vial.
“Don’t touch-” Quill starts.
“Don’t touch that!” says Mira.
“That’s a dangerous biological agent Padelheb was about to use to destroy a continent, you have to let us dispose of it!” says Quill.
The guard looks on skeptically, then carefully takes the vial. “I’m sure you have an interesting story to tell us,” he says.
You’re now going to be questioned about the events. You’re going to have to decide what to say.A: Reveal Mira’s role in the creation of the plague. Notice that this will likely result in bad things for her, and if she turns against you it will look like you are trying to slander others.
B: Talk about the plague but don’t mention how it was created.
