Turn 4:

Turn 3

Squelchy, the Omnislime (Coolrune206)
Squelchy chose two of his most powerful slimy companions and led them to scout the surrounding areas.

If it's pure strength you need, Gloup Blop and Swift Zef the Mad Tornado are the slimes you need!

Gloup Blop is an Inkblack Coroblob, a bulky blob the same color as its namesake. Obviously, his corrosive powers are where he excels.
Swift Zed is an eccentric Leaping Slime, dreaming to become the fastest slime alive. He chose its future name of legend itself. He can close medium distances incredibly fast (for a slime) with his empowered leaps.

[Companions List updated]

Scouting Unknown Lands:
Action Roll (Diff 13): [5]
Outcome Roll: [4] -Failure-

With your newly assembled elite party, you set off to explore the area around this unknown place. The vegetation ends up being denser than you expected, and your scouting attempt ends up yielding no interesting result.

Event Roll: [1] -Critical Failure-

You three suddenly freeze as your instinct tells you of imminent danger. A deep, intense voice echoes from all directions of the thick jungle.

"Aaaah. Sustenance."

Ambush Attack!:
Combat Roll (Pow 2 vs Con 3, 2, 0): [7]+4 (Ambush (+4)) vs [1, 1, 3]
Critical Roll: [2] (Normal Attack)
Squelchy and Gloup Blop rolled a Critical Failure on their Defense Roll!

A volley of projectiles made of silk came flying toward your position, and taken aback by the surprise, none of you managed to dodge! Upon impact, the projectiles exploded, releasing binding webs.

In front of you, your aggressor showed itself. A centaur-like creature, with the lower body of an arachnid and the head of a horned beetle. Its body was covered by a black exoskeleton, and its upper arms ended with chitinous claws.

Hostile:
-Arachnastinian

Spoiler: Squelchy Status (click to show/hide)

Eron, the Phantom Musician (OceanSoul)
Approach the ground a bit, and head northeast. Or where I think is northeast.

As you approached the ground, the creatures above seemed to leave the place. Maybe they lost interest in you.

You headed to the northeast, unknowingly leaving Ashafan territory and heading toward a land of mysteries... As you progressed further, you finally spotted a change in this golden ocean of sand. Far, far ahead, there was what seemed like a rock formation, like some mountain.

Event Roll: [1]

A sudden whirlwind of burning sand formed around you, blinding your surroundings. As fast as it had appeared, the whirlwind dissipated, leaving but a floating being in front of you. Wearing colorful human clothes of extremely exquisite design, the red djinn of the desert grinned mischievously.

"A monster not from here, and a spirit. You seem... lost. May I offer you assistance? For a fair enough price, of course. Such as your instrument, or your cloak."

Intentions Unknown:
-Red Desert Djinn

Spoiler: Eron Status (click to show/hide)

Squra the Leech Snake (killerhellhound)
Enjoy my meal then climb a tree and digest it

Climbing to a tree far from harm way, you proceeded to enjoy the fruit of your kill. Tearing the flesh and swallowing it gluttonously, you felt vitality filling your body.

[Well-Fed]

Spoiler: Squra Status (click to show/hide)

Skee, the Insect Parasite (Legendary Marksdorf)
"Not good", Skee though. Not only was the tiger just as strong as he expected it, it also seemed pretty smart, and seemed to possess strange powers. Getting close enough to sting it wasn't a risk Skee was willing to take; For all he knew, his poison might not even work on it. But this wasn't all bad; at least the tiger didn't attack him outright, and he'd get some free food from this carcass. Skee decided to wait until the tiger was done eating, then eat his fill of meat from the carcass and hide among the scraps, waiting for an unsuspecting scavenger to come by.
(Woops, noticed it was Skee, not Skree. Corrected that in past turns)

Wisening up, Skee decided to bide its time. Now wasn't the time to attempt a reckless action. He waited for the tiger to leave, and approached cautiously the carcass. It fed on its remains until it was full, and hid under flesh and chitin to prepare a trap for the future unfortunate scavenger that would come by.

[Well-Fed]

Event Roll: [2]
You heard a creature approaching with a creeping sound. You peeked outside, and was dejected to see a slime of all kind. Slimes were incredibly hard to parasite due to their exotic biology.

The slime just started digesting at the dead monster, uncaring of anything else.

Intentions Unknown:
-Some Slime

Spoiler: Skee Status (click to show/hide)

Eximius Res, the Rusty Ring (Hawk132)
For now, Eximius would conceal his presence. Or rather, he'd keep himself quiet. This is not a good time to be startled by a talking ring. Introductions will come later, in a safer place.

Still, it didn't stop him from a very, very long "Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees!" in his thoughts.

Let him get away from here first. If things start looking bad to the point that he might not make it without my help, release his limits.

Event Roll: [3]

After a dangerous descent, the man reached safe ground. Unfortunately, he lost a bag of stolen trinkets during the climb. Not allowing himself respite yet, he walked until he reached a small cavern he had located prior. Now sure that he would be away from danger for at least enough time to recover his breath, he leaned on the stone wall, cooling his sweating body.

[Eximius Host Status Updated]

Spoiler: Eximius Res Status (click to show/hide)

Theta, the Wolf (Rautherdir)
Well, time to follow tracks.

You follow the tracks of the creature, which from its footprints seem like a mammal similar sized to you. Eventually you pick up a scent, and approach more cautiously. From a distance, you observe the creature.

A mammal beast, with a body similar to a puma. Its head though, is abnormally wide. Its maw is filled with rows of razor sharp teeth, like a shark's jaw. It was using its incredibly long and dextrous tongue to clean itself.

Intentions Unknown:
-Leuscrat

Spoiler: Theta Status (click to show/hide)

Neophytos the Sole Survivor, Psychic Pain Spider (randomgenericusername)
Let's surround it, attacking from all sides will greatly confuse it.
Use stealth and surround it, then all the spiders use their mind blast at the same time towards our prey. Then, if it has not noticed us, retry. If it notices us, mind blast again then everyone jumps and bites it at the same time.

Following your plan, the spiders surrounded the unsuspecting beast. Then when you launched the signal, they all used a mindblast.
Sneak Attack (Mindblast): -2MP
Combat Roll (Int 1 vs Ind -1): [3, 6, 12, 4, 4]+4 (Sneak Attack (+4)) vs [8]
Critical Roll: [7,6,3,10] (3 Normal Hit, 1 Critical)

The combined psychic attacks of the five spiders had a devastating effect on the simple creature. Completely overwhelmed, the Mossgorl entered in a state of unconsciousness.

Bite:
Combat Roll (Str -1 vs Con 3): [No Opposition]
Critical Roll: [8,3,8,8,7] (All Normal Hits)
Damage: [1,1,2,1,3]*0.25 - 1 = [0, 0, 0, 0, 0]

Altogether, you jumped on the incapacitated creature to finish it with your bites. But your weak bites were unable to pierce its incredible hide.

Hostile:
-Adult Mossgorl: Unconscious

The Azarian Project, the Thoughling (Dustan Hache)
Attempt to pull myself free of the thorny beast, and move to  put some sort of large obstacle between to keep them from grabbing me as easily. Continue trying to cause damage to their mind, but avoid absorbing it.

Pulling Free:
Opposition Roll (Str 0 vs Str 1): [9]-2 (Badly Wounded (-2)) vs [10]-2 (Mind Damaged (-2))
Outcome Roll: [3] (Failure)

You attempted to pull the vicious thorns out, but couldn't find enough strength to make them move. Your only hope now was to counterattack, while trying to avoid the malignant effects of its toxic mind.

You only had your Mind Eater power at hand, and using it would inevitably expose you to its mind.

Improvise new Int technique:
Action Roll (Diff 15): [9]-1 (Badly Wounded (-2) Intelligence (+1)) -Failure-
Outcome Roll:
[5] (Partial Failure)

You had a crude idea in this dire situation. It could work, but you weren't sure.

Improvised Skill: Crude Mind Strike

Crude Mind Strike:
Combat Roll (Int 1 vs Ind 1): [5]-2 (Badly Wounded (-2)) vs [5]-2 (Mind Damaged (-2))
Critical Roll: [1] (Normal Attack)

The attack you used could have been described as "eating and immediately spitting back". You used your mind transfer abilities to take the mind away, and tried avoiding absorbing it by regurgitating the transferred mind.

Toxic Mind Resistance:
Action Roll (Diff 10): [2]+2 (Purity of Mind (+2) Badly Wounded (-2) Mind Strike (+2)

It didn't work. It didn- Your mind was hurting. An intense, splitting headache was gnawing at you. That's it, you were done now. You felt unable to focus anymore. But death didn't come. The black thorns had stopped moving. It seems your last attack was enough for you to incapacitate the creature.

Hostile:
-Black Thorns Horror: Definitely Hostile - Incapacitated

The Protoquin (Failbird105)
Protoquin

The Quinkan would choose to observe the figures from a distance, rather than approach, wasting its own life was the least wanted thing for it to do at the moment.

Observation:
Action Roll (Diff 10): [18]
Outcome Roll: [5] (Overshoot)

You observed the many figures.
The numerous small ones were very passive, content with floating around and minding their own business.
But the bigger the figure got, the more various their behavior became. Some were actively chasing other figures, fighting and killing them. Other were passive until some nearby being passed too close or attacked them.

It seemed the killers absorbed some of the strength of the killed.

But in your observation, you failed to notice something creeping behind you.

An ectoplasmic, semi-transparent humanoid stood there. Instead of a face, it had an eerie white mask with red motifs. They constantly moved to form other motifs. The being laughed.

Intentions Unknown:
Numask

Spoiler: The Protoquin Status (click to show/hide)

Go'Von, the Gray Ooze (Puppyguard)
Go'von wrapped tighter and tighter around the beast's neck. He knew it would be dead soon, just a little longer.

Strangle:
Combat Roll (Str 0 vs Con 0): [9] vs [6]-2 (Strangled (-2))
Critical Roll: [6] (Normal Attack)
Damage: [3]*1=-3

Subterranean Furred Monster:
Combat Roll (Str 2 vs Con 1): [9]-2 (Strangled (-2)) vs [8]
Critical Defense Roll: [4] (Normal Defense)
Counterattack Roll (Str 0 vs Con 0): [9] vs [3]-2 (Strangled (-2))
Damage: [3]*1=-3

You tightened faster and faster, not leaving a moment of respite to the helpless creature. After one last attempt to get you off its neck, the monster collapsed, dead.

Hostile:
Subterranean Furred Monster: Dead

Spoiler: Go'Von Status (click to show/hide)

Xizilitiz, the Lesser Angel (crazyabe)
The angel looked upon its prey, and charged, hoping to tear the beasts neck open with its "Power"

Sneak Attack (Flesh Shifter): -2MP
Combat Roll (Pow 1 vs Res 0): [7]+4 (Sneak Attack (+4)) vs [4]
Critical Roll: [9] (Normal Hit)
Damage: [3]*2=[6]

You bursted from the brushes, grabbing the chimeric creature's neck from behind. Using your flesh shifting powers, you violently started  to twist and rip the flesh from its neck. The attack wasn't dep enough to instantly kill the monster or damage its nerves, but severely wounded it.

Breaking Free (Chimeric Monster):
Opposition Roll (Str 1 vs Str 0): [6]-2 (Badly Wounded (-2)) vs [10]
Outcome Roll: [6] -Partial Success-

The monster roared and attempted to shake you off, and barely succeeded. You lost your grip for a second, and attempted to grab it again.

Flesh Shifting: -2MP
Combat Roll (Pow 1 vs Res 0): [6]-1 (Slightly Lost Balance (-1)) vs [6]-2 (Badly Wounded (-2))
Critical Roll: [7] (Normal Hit)
Damage: [2]*2=[4]

This time, you held on to its arm, further rending its flesh. Bleeding from these unnatural wounds, the creature weakened.

Intentions Unknown:
-Chimeric monster Critically Wounded

Spoiler: Xizilitiz Status (click to show/hide)

Fluorine, the Harpie - (AbstractTraitorHero)
Wing's gently feeling the man's hair curling it around the ends. Smiling he was an appealing prey and she liked what she saw the wavy hair was something she quite liked. Maybe she could make something outta it? Or hell she could just keep it around as a nest liner or something of the like that would be nice.

But for now. She breather her singing becoming lower. Quieter as her mouth came close to his face.

"Goodnight."

Give him a gentle kiss. Then "Gently" rip his throat out. Hold him down until he stops struggling if he does struggle. If he doesn't? Just hold him. Hold him quietly until he goe's.

Execution:
Action Roll (Diff 5): [20] -Critical Success-

You left on his dry and cracked lips the final kiss of death. He didn't bulge an inch, and with a swift motion, you tore his throat out, finishing his life in a flash.

You gorged yourself of the ruby liquid pouring from the wound, drinking this life nectar as if you found an oasis.
Then you tore through the flesh, the muscles, picking all your favorite parts and licking them before eating them whole.

A feast, that was a feast.

You sat there, drenched in the red bodily fluids of this man. Slightly dazed by this surge of pleasure that you had missed you so much, you exhaled with relief. Was it because it had been so long? Or was something else different? You felt a newfound strength filling your insides, and a never felt before sensation of ecstasy.

+1 Lesser Essence

Spoiler: Fluorine Status (click to show/hide)

Aspred Bagrid, the Giant Catfish Serpent (GigaGiant)
(Barely any time atm, so just a quick action)

Continue hiding and pick my wounds. Try to heal.

You stayed in the safety of the crevice, fighting the pain and avoiding hurting yourself further. You waited for the pain to slowly subside, and for your body to recover these horrendous wounds.

A long time passed, and the Coralfort Whale gave up making you its dinner.

[+4]HP

Event Roll: [3]
Nothing really happened, and you kept waiting for your wounds to heal. More time passed, with the dark depths remaining as silent and welcoming as ever.

[+5]HP

After a long time, all your wounds had cicatrized. You felt much better, but the scars from the battle still burnt in your flesh. You would have to be careful with these.

Event Roll: [3]
The depths waited, undisturbed. Nothing troubled them, and the darkness kept bidding its time.

Spoiler: Aspred Bagrid Status (click to show/hide)

(Shard of) Breadweed, the Resilient (ATHATH)
"But why would a monster be more likely to burn a village and not try to protect it than, say, the aforementioned mage?"

"I see your point, however."

"How does magic work in this world? Do any of you know anything about alchemy?"

Event Roll: [3]
Nothing happened to disturb you all.

All the men shouted a big "What???" in surprise, as if hearing an absurd fact. The Leader said rudely:
"You didn't hear what we said? Monsters kill humans. Some even pass themselves as friendly to kill more humans."

It seemed this world was not one of peace and cooperation. You felt that your Suggestion was starting to wane, as the questions you asked tended to hit a pretty sensible subject.

Finally you asked about magic and alchemy. Naturally, Laphores made the talking there.
"There are many types of magic in this world, but they all use the same principle. A mage uses the magic energy that we call mana in its body to power spells. The workings of a spell are defined by the type of magic. I use the conventional spelled magic and the specialized glyph magic for instance. With the first, I pour a specific amount mana into spellwords to create a spell. It's more complicated than that, but this is the overall idea. with glyph magic, I create pour mana into a written symbol to create a spell."

He then went on about alchemy.
"I am not an alchemist, but here is what I know of the concepts behind it. Alchemy is the art of transforming and amplifying the "purpose" of things. With alchemy you can extract and combine the purpose of materials and items, and combine them with other purposes or items to create new objects. For example, medicinal herbs typically have a strong "restoration" purpose. By extracting it and combining it with water, we create healing potions. Great alchemists are capable of creating new and exotic purposes, and able to imbue purposes into item without destroying them."

Non-hostiles:[/b]
-5 Humans: a Mage, a Leader, three more unidentified

Spoiler: Breadweed Status (click to show/hide)

Ulkas, the Horned Demon (Sarrak)
"First, but not the last trap..."

Use my intellect to solve oncoming deadly riddles. Or guess what exactly is happening.

Astrosa and you stand at the ready for anything that would come in your way. But nothing happens, the light remains red, but no trap seems to spring on you.

Analyzing the situation:
Action Roll (Diff 10): [11]+5 (Expansive Mind (+2) / Intelligence (+3))
Outcome Roll: [6] -Overshoot-

Focusing and thinking outside your preconceived ideas, you come to the conclusion that this red light must be a warning to intruders. Your presence was probably detected when you were taking your time looking for possible visits. But this prospect of having enemies lying in wait turns you over cautious.

You explain your deduction to Astrosa, and she agrees to be careful.
"You are right, we shouldn't get careless there. As you said, this is enemy territory."

You thought to yourself, that situation was actually a great way to test your abilities to sneak into enemy territory.

(...)

As nothing seemed to be happening, you studied the room, and more importantly the platform.

Analyzing the situation:
Action Roll (Diff 13): [14]+5 (Expansive Mind (+2) / Intelligence (+3))
Outcome Roll: [6] -Overshoot-

With your expansive mind, you grasped underlying concepts that you would never have thought of on your own. This platform seemed to be an elevator running on a special energy that seemed close in nature to the magical energy you used to power your spells. But in its form, it was unusable to you.

Your curiosity started getting the better of you, and you started attempting to understand the workings of this device. The more you tried, the more your head started to ache.

"Ulkas, are you okay? What is this platform?"

You replied to the slightly worried Astrosa. Obviously, nor her voice nor her face showed any sign of worry. But her asking about your well-being was more than anything you could ask for.

You realized that this place was terribly dangerous in some unexpected form to you. The ruins of the Ancients hid many incredible secrets that awakened an incredible thirst in you. Such thirst could end up being your downfall if you were not careful, and you realized that.

New Skill: Art of the Dancing Chaos (Martial Art): a self developed martial art, unique to Gray. It uses unpredictable jabs and dodges by taking advantage of Gray's constitution. A style with strong offense and defense, whose main drawback is the sheer amount of stamina used.

New Trait: Skilled Body Control: weeks of training have increased Gray's body control. Its movements are more precise and balanced.

Increased Attributes: +1 Individuality
All this meditation made Gray acquire a better sense of self. He is no longer a mere blob, and is in better control of his instincts and needs.

Yes, evolving is not the only way to earn Attributes!

Ulkas chuckled while rubbing his temples with a clawed hand. In worst case, he could use paralyzing venom to soothe the pain somewhat, but for now, headache was a simple warning - and a needed one, indeed.

"Hah… It is almost funny. For one such as myself, this whole place serves as a devious trap intended for a curious mind… Astrosa, can I ask you for a favour? If I will get too immersed in studying various relics of the past - tear me from them if needed. I need to save focus for later use."

"And now, to descend into the abyss… I'll provide the platform with mana needed, and you should be ready."

Stand on the platform and use hard-earned knowledge to operate it. See if we can go further than one floor down. Be ready.

Squelchy quickly uses glimmering hope, then tried to pounce directly upwards to break the hold of the web on him. If he succeeds, he lands, then dodges the enemy's attacks this turn. If he fails, he desperately releases clouds of pheromones to alert all the other slimes of his danger, then uses flash to blind his foe.

"Urgh, one of these damn living puddles" Skee though, exasperated. Slimes were weak, slow, and above all, hard to take control of. However, not wanting to let go of this opportunity, Skee racked his brain, trying to come up with a way to use the mindless jelly. Then he found. A slime was like a lump of clay. Useless in itself, but easily moldable and merged with others to create something formidable... Something unstopabble. Slimes were not known for having good reflexes, nor good perception of their surroundings. Their only asset was their accute sense of smell. However, Skee had been in the carcass for some time now, bathing in the smell of flesh and blood, so the slime probably wouldn't notice him before it was too late. Finally deciding it was the right time to strike, Skee carefully and slowly moves out of the carcass to sneakily deliver a quick paralysing sting to the slime before scurrying back inside the bug corpse, hopefully unnoticed. If the poison worked it's magic, Skee would then begin parasiting the slime while it was paralysed.

"I see. Well, I think that I'll be leaving now."

"One last question before I go: What are your names?"

Leave and head off into the wilderness.

Create a crude sundial by putting a stick in the ground, and try to amplify its "time-iness" by focusing on it. Then remove the stick from the ground and test to see if it gained any interesting/magical properties.

Take a different stick (one that doesn't look like the other stick, so that I don't get them confused) and try to enhance its "dead"-ness by focusing on it. Test to see if it gained any interesting/magical properties.

Take yet another stick (one that doesn't look like the other sticks, so that I don't get them confused) and try to enhance its "plant"-ness by focusing on it. Test to see if it gained any interesting/magical properties.

Spend 1 mana on each of the wand creation processes (so 3 mana total) and 1 mana on each of the wand testing processes (so another 3 mana total).

Now that he's in a safe place, the man will hear a voice coming from right next to his ear. If he'd care to focus more on where from the voice is coming from, he'd realize it's within his head.

"Yep, looks safe enough. Now that we're free of any distractions, let me introduce myself. Kid, I am possibly the greatest thing that has ever happened to you - Eximius Res."

"Don't bother looking around, I'm right there on your finger. And before you try: there's no point in trying to remove me, our fates are already bonded together. So you and I are going to be pals for life. Ooh, we are going to have loads of fun. Haven't had any for years. Hopefully no dragons this time. Dragons are bad."

"Anyway, how're you called, kiddo?"

Protoquin

"Mrrp!"
