That first one is seriously awesome!
The second dorf tho... either you had a forgotten beast with nasty syndromes, or you need to buy some soap from the caravans :)

Good stuff, but would you mind spoilering them?  My computer nearly froze (only for a few seconds, but still) when I scrolled through them.

But I know how you feel to a degree: my game crashes constantly on adventure mode. 100% guarantee of crashing within 10 minutes of starting/continuing an adventure. Totally unplayable.

What? Who? Huh?

a) what mods do you have installed?
b) which version of DF do you have?
c) what OS do you run?
d) where did you download DF?

I've been playing adventure mode a whole lots since .25, and have had zero crashes from normal gameplay even from 4-hour-long games. The general consensus is adventure mode is pretty crash-stable right now outside of messing with the game or modding.

I've been playing since 40D on the same OS, and am up to date version-wise. It rarely does this, but reinstalling DF fixes the problem. Really, mods don't matter at all unless they are written incorrectly. It crashes just as often regardless of what mods are installed, if any.

I haven't said anything on this forum in a while. "ninedot" has inspired me.

I usually don't care for your work. Not that it isn't fantastic, it simply does not appeal to me.

However, "ninedot", I must tell you this now.

I love you.

I got goosebumps.

Just saying.

Ninedot... are those HONESTLY pictures of your adventures?

or are you just trying to show off your artistic style?

I only ask because some of them are obviously in modern attire or lack any context from the vanilla game.

Though still... I am not a fan in either case. Though it does make me think of a scene in Darkseed...

Umm, I may not ever be entirely sure what they are, but they certainly do have context.
Many of them are instantly recognizable as a fantastic take on certain DF scenes, while others, I think, are ideas of what magic could be like... And I think the first one of this latest batch is either a slain bogeyman dissipating into smoke with the dawn, or a charred corpse. :P
I like some of them, and others not so much, but Ninedot is definitely a valuable contributor to this thread, in my opinion. I just wish he/she would actually change his/her name to Ninedot, for convenience... :P

Thank you Yoink for providing my biggest loathing of modern art.

Huh? No it is a witch burning up on the sun.

Hardly matters anyhow... It doesn't seem to fit the context of the thread. Especially if you look closely.

Hense why I am asking.

Nah the name is the very essence of Dwarf fortress learning cliff.
Guys, Guys the first one is a FB mostly likely a floating one shooting out a material burst. Looking really closely you can see it forming the ball and throwing it.
