Seriously though, is this like a brief promotional thing or is it a more permanent deal because if there's one thing that could get me back into soda it's Surge.

My parents use "a couple" to mean 2 exclusively. I use it synonymous with "a few" and "a handful". This causes a good deal of confusion.

I agree with your parents. A couple is 2. The clue is in the fact that's what the word means.

I mean "a couple" as a counting term. A "couple" in the romantic sense is still two.

For me they overlap a lot.
Couple: 2 to ~5
Few: 3 to ~7
Several: 3 to ~10
