As a side note, I actually do have the episode with the infamous Sonic Says. It's on an old VHS tape with a bunch of other cartoons. As a kid, I never thought it particularly different from the other end of episode morals.

I saw a lot of messages like that one (including that one) in my childhood. I didn't understand what they were talking about: I thought they just meant annoying people by poking them or stuff like that. Cue flat 'oh' when I figured it out.

What pisskop said, but also the sony mrr-q22 headphones (or whatever they're called, amazon calls them ear clips) have lasted pretty well for me for a not especially expensive ($20) pair, the only thing that really wrecked them was the thing that can wreck anything: baby siblings a year or two ago before I got a second pair. Can't say anything else really great about them though, I'm not an headphones guy.

If you don't care too much about audio quality, I've had good experiences with the ~$15 headsets. Usually use my speakers for audio but the headsets suffice as headphones too. Plus, a microphone. Nice all in one package.

I have a ten dollar pair I've been using for about four years now. The padding on the muffs is starting to fall off and the rubber thing around the plug is coming loose, but hey, they're still working alright!

Best place for headphones is goodwill/savers. They often have older ones (which often have better sound) for a few dollars. At worst, you need a 1/4 to 1/8 adapter, which they also usually have.

I've never been able to find a good pair of headsets that's worked for me :/  I always end up breaking them, or they get all messed up on their own, have really awful quality (like really bad)... ick.  I'll never find headset love at this rate D:
