About to spend a good half-hour on the disk sander adding some taper and angularity to the front of this. Will probably need at least 3 dust collector filter changes. Sanding XPS throws ungodly amounts of dust.

Okay, so, fooling around with isometric spriting. Sort of doing it for a game project that I had in my head, but made it mostly as a spriting exercise.



Problems thus far:
1: It's kinda hard to make an area seem dark. There are varying shades here (Not much shading on the character however) with the darkest being (Obviously) total darkness. However, I tried doing a backdrop and it doesn't work well with tiles. Should I just get rid of the backdrop or try something else with it?
2: It's difficult to make good tiles that interlock. Any suggestions?

Unrelated problem: I have a problem with making feminine characters look... feminine.  I think I did an okay job with this one, but since she's a little girl and a lot of children are rather ambiguous in terms of gender without immediate identifiers like clothing. Any tips on spriting/drawing females?
