yesterday i was messing around with lightning and then suddenly

BOOM

welp

I like how the lightning effect turned out though, especially given how easy it was to do. :v

-Pixel art stuff-
I do pixel art.
Right now I'm working on this.

But pretty much everything I've made in the past like 4 months are here.

Hey that's pretty neat, although the shading's a bit too soft faint for my personal tastes. At the risk of sounding like a dick, might i recommend this pixel art tutorial? That guy's art, both pixel and otherwise, has been and still is a huge inspiration to me.

I made a tiny night skyline!

So tiny I don't feel the need to spoiler it. I originally intended more but I didn't like how the original intended thing came out, but quite liked the skyline!

It was always intended to be tiny, just not so tiny.

And while I understand it's highly unlikely there's much to critique in such a tiny thing, please don't feel like a jerk for doing so, I think it's obvious I'm quite new to this. :P

I think it looks nice.

That lightning is pretty sweet, too. My lightning always looks awful.

I did this!

Its a scene from Romeo & Juliet & Zombies probably!

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Guess what webcomic inspired it?
It has zombies and is in monochrome

Hey, are you that guy from the Cataclysm forums? I love your stuff, you have a very distinctive style.

Heh. The Candlebury guy? Yeah thats me. I don't participate much in here though, just lurk the art threads and community stories.

And hey, thanks for the compliment.

You may remember me posting a picture of the tree man I made, and how I was going to give him clothes. Well, I finally got around to it, several months later.

I randomly doodle sometimes. Most of the stuff is hidden in random notebooks, so I couldn't dig out the better stuff.

Ah! Wings are basically arms, in terms of the bone structure. The "wrist" is the tip of the forward curve. Then you've basically got feathers aligned perpendicular to the arm, pointing backward.

“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Hahah, i know that feeling all too well. Turned out really nicely despite the wait, though! c:

also last night i tried to nail a cartoony style on paper
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
That part went reasonably well, all things considered, but then i tried inking the chap with my inking pen thing.

egeuhegueh

Need to practice STEADYHANDING a lot more. I think the main difference between pen and pencil here is how i pressed relatively hard with the pencil (thus making the pencil not wobble along with my hand), whereas i was really light with the pen (thus making EVERY SINGLE hand wobble visible). Then again, this IS the first time i've actually tried to ink a drawing, so a lack of quality and practice is to be expected, especially if ones hands are as unsteady as mine. :P

I've been pixel-doodling some more things in relation to Gun Francisco.
This time, I've made ants, which would serve as common enemies throughout the game...

Until they get power armor by the end of the game and become really damn tough.
Oh, and they can dual-wield stuff, what with multiple pairs of limbs. (I know ants are supposed to have 4 such pairs, but look at the text below my avatar.) And then they also get jetpacks. GLHF.

I should probably post that in the GF thread, but oh well, might as well drop it by here instead.

Psh no you got it right. If they used all 3 pairs they wouldn't have legs!

Some how I managed to get motivated enough to finish a full picture. I made it sized for use as my header picture on twitter. Overall I'm satisfied with this, and it was actually a lot of fun to work on something and see the final product.
The trees still have some layering issues. I spotted one while posting this, and there are doubtlessly others. The hardest part of fixing them is finding the issue in the first place :P

Might as well post this now that I'm not going to use it.

It was for the GURPS game I was running before nature itself put an end to it.
