I'll be working on a matching rifle of the same type, though it'll be a touch more difficult. Once it's done, though, I'll post it here.

Does it shoot acid? That shade of green looks dangerous.

Close. It fires a compound called Zalite, which is very corrosive to organic materials, but tends to do little versus inorganic materials. The pistol holds enough Zalite for 4 shots, and it works by siphoning a fourth of the bottom reservoir when it's cocked, and placing it into the top reservoir and barrel. The magazines are highly compressed, allowing it to do this rather quickly. Once the Zalite is in the top reservoir and barrel, it gets compressed again by it snapping back into place and pressing it against a valve at the front. Pulling the trigger releases it at high speeds, effectively making a high impact corrosive bullet. In addition, the top reservoir can be further pressurized by slowly pulling the gun back (Too fast and a valve releases the pressure back into the magazine, also allowing the same motion to cock the gun) and hitting a lock on the back of the gun. This causes the burst to be more accurate, since it doesn't have as much of an arc.

The exposed "windows" aren't just for looks, by the way; Zalite, when compressed, heats up very quickly, meaning that in order to stop the gun from melting, several parts of the tubing remain exposed to allow the heat to escape, though detonations still aren't entirely unheard of.

And yes, I am overthinking this game.

Sorry for double posting, but I've finished the Zalite Rifle. I'm not entirely sure about whether or not to keep the design, though. What do you guys think?

Zalite cartridges are placed in a small slot just behind the trigger (Slot not visible), where they drain through a piping system to the back mounted storage. The rifle stores three shots, after which it has to be loaded from the back storage (Turns where you're loading or cocking a weapon, but not inserting a new magazine or cartridge, are turns where the zombies get to move before you). It can either fire single shots, which have +1 to accuracy, or it can fire burst shots with no bonus iff there are three remaining shots in the rifle (NOT in storage). These shots must be directed at the same target, however.
The hook on the left braces the gun against the user, since Zalite is very heavy, which I forgot to mention in the last post. Wielding the Rifle without it would be nigh-impossible.
I've been focusing mainly on the gameplay aspects, rather than the lore aspects, since it mechanically works very similarly to the Zalite Pistol.

No, though it is rather difficult to take off once you've got the gun up.

No, not really.
But gunsharks are a thing in this universe, so the idea is not totally out of ordinary.

It can either shoot slugs, electricty or charged slugs, depending on the firing mode.

Also here is a guy holding one. The scale of the gun is a bit off though, it's a wee bit smaller than it's meant to be, I think.

Oh god, its like Kingdom Hearts went all dark soul on me O.O

EDIT: Alas, the forum seems to have misplaced all of its extraordinarily talented artists, there was a time when the engraver's guild was frequented by THOUSANDS... or maybe like a few dozen. Eventually, even I, with my terrible drawings stopped posting. (I probably killed it with my shittiness anyways, sorry!)
