In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.

Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

So, backstory to this. Why I'm posting it is the result of a query a friend asked regarding my art. It resulted in asking me to post it.

And I've no idea where to post it!
Or how to start an intro on it!

Spoiler: It began with a stroke of inspiration from seeing a painting done by my kuya {Tagalog term; loosely translated to 'older brother//older male'; implied respect} (click to show/hide)
Somehow, inspiration took ahold of me in thinking how I could do something as a gift for him and his kindness.
With no experience to negative drawing other than reading up on it as well as 8 hours of straightforward work with a pencil and its eraser, this happened.
