Anyways, here's a thing while I was screwing around in Photoshop. WIP, I guess, if I decide to finish it.

Oooh, that's cool. You could probably finish it easily. Slap another shade of grey where the transparency is, then darken what you currently have grayed out to provide shadows and contrast, and you got a cool looking monochrome art piece. Reminds me of Yggdrasil or some other pagan nordic tree thing. Especially reminiscent of black metal album covers.

I'm not sure if it's meant to be in perspective? Because it seems like you tried to do a frogs-eye view of the tree (that is, looking up at it from the ground) but nothing actually converges properly. Also agreed with spess, some shading would go a long way, especially to convey the cylindrical shape of the trunk which is kinda hard to read right now.

I'll try again I can do one point and two point perspective, but I've never tried doing birds eye or worms eye before. Can anyone give me the basics or a video, please?

Well, it's basically like having a second horizon up in the sky, where vertical lines converge instead of the horizontal ones. You might need to extend the canvas upwards to actually find the converging point, unless you're looking VERY UPWARDS (in which case horizontal lines become near-parallel, and then it looks a lot like one/two point perspective once more).

Got my Wacom Intuos. Installed driver for Mac 10.6.8. Not working. Now troubleshooting.

I like the texture on the touch pad. Not sure what the buttons on the pad can be used for, probably shortcuts. The pen buttons must be LMB/RMB, or maybe not. The pen holder loop isn't actually big enough to stick the pen in, which has me worried. I just know I'm going to freaking lose it. Or my cat will chew it up.

There are a number of artistic liberties not mentioned in the source text, but you probably can't see them through the potato camera anyway.

I'm not fully satisfied with this (there's a lot that could be touched up), but I'm pretty tired of working on it so it's getting a break for now. I think it's somewhat above terrible, at least.

Also I'd like to add shadows of floating objects lit from multiple angles to the list of 'things I'm pretty sure nobody loves', next to foreshortening.
