Main argument against antisemitic conspiracy theories: If they are true, how come Jews were persecuted all the time?

(But I doubt that many antisemites know how to use basic logic anyway...)

because of all the conspiracies they're always up to checkmate atheists

i don't consider myself an antisemite but there's a lot of shit both israel (and by extension, their citizens, since their government's a democracy) and their enemies should be ashamed of and this is the most detail i'm getting into outside of a dedicated thread because i don't like shitting up nice threads

Yeah, but that goes for every government, even moreso for governments surrounded by enemies.

(Not quite defending Israel specifically so much as saying that Israel isn't special in that.)

Also, how do people think that large groups of spread-out people can act in a coordinated manner with no leadership involved without someone in the group messing it up?

are you deliberately trying to mess my brain up using semantics because i don't like semantics and coordination - in my mind at least - means there's some leadership somewhere along the way (or a hivemind involved)

i'm fairly sure democracy's a bad thing (as in, "churchill had this one right", not "HAIL GLORIOUS LEADER") bu-

i just nuked a paragraph because

And Littlefinger had nothing to do with it. Why would he? He was somewhere else.

Remember the second half of that quote, though. Democracy tends to be the least evil among those that can function on some worthwhile level. The ideal forms of government (in my mind, either a true-Marxist eutopia in which everyone works together for the common good without turning creepy, stratified, and repressive; or an absolute monarchy ruled by a line of philosopher-king/queens who genuinely strive to preserve the freedoms and well-being of their subjects above all else) can't exist because human nature prevents them from being sustainable, so we have to settle for what we can get.

I've always thought that the "settle for what human nature allows"  is a lousy excuse to try to appease the masses. Consider the current state of affairs in the world; I'm guessing that since both communism and capitalism have proven they don't really work, we need to set a new low as the "human  nature standard". Semi-ellective kleptocracies with periodic military coups, maybe?

None of that sounds like the makings of a stable society to me...

look around you, does it look like a stable society? in a sense, and to a point...

i propose absolute monarchy governed by a benevolent super AI. then we wouldn't have to deal with the problems of human nature... just the risks of relying on an AI to make moral judgements
