There should be a Fortress Misalignment System, whereby the embarked playing area you see is not on the worldgen and localised map 'grid' but shifted (by fractional tile-sizes), rescaled (by a non-integer amount) and/or rotated (by any non-orthagonal angle). No more than one tile (and preferably none) should coincide with that of a currently customary embarkation, all others being interpolated in some mysterious manner that won't even appear to be logically related to the raw worldmap 'neighbour tiles' and escapes analysis due to imaginary memory locations not available for analysis.

I've heard in the past people say the game is to complex, so I say we simplify it by removing everything but dirt and water, but even that is probably to complex so lets also remove water and just leave the dirt.

Also to dumb down simplify gameplay, there'll be only one button you can press and it automatically builds everything you need.

I dunno, man. "Dirt" is a pretty nebulous concept in its own right once you get into it (for instance: are we talking soil? Some other kind of sediment? Just general grit or grime? Not to mention that dirt usually contains other non-dirt things). Best remove it too, just to be safe.

the game remains three dimensional, but the player can only interact with a single z-plane, like the old versions. This z-plane is selected at embark and cannot be changed. creatures above and below the z-plane cannot be targeted. and all dwarves must be burrowed on that same plane.

That still gives to much freedom, limit the size of fort they can build on that Z-level to a three by three room.

Any additional creatures will be deleted automatically.

Due to a coding 'error', between versions, the limitation to a single Z-plane now applies instead to a single Y-plane.

In adventure mode, you must assume a false identity in order to interact with cyclopes. Said false identity will always be named "Nobody".
