I could imagine DF having randomized taglines like Minecraft.
Also Girlinhat's quote is still relevant:
Dwarf Fortress: We're not here to make anyone happy, We're here to Strike the Earth.
!!Dwarf Fortress: Menaces with spikes of in-jokes!!
Dwarf Fortress: To this day, men still quest for the fabled Learning Curve

Dwarf Fortress: Losing is fun.
Dwarf Fortress: A vile force of darkness has arrived!
Dwarf Fortress: OH GOD WHY ARE THE DWARVES BURNING
Dwarf Fortress: Fear the night. (better for adventure mode I guess)
Dwarf Fortress: Embark on a terrifying biome. Be killed by skelks.
...Not so creative, mine. And I can definitely see DF having randomized taglines/splash text like Minecraft does, which could use some of these.

Dwarf Fortress: We're not here to make anyone happy, We're here to Strike the Earth.
Oh come on, the proper one was two posts above!

Dwarf Fortress: Run. Don't look back. It's too late for us.

Dwarf Fortress: Fantasy life simulation at its max.
Dwarf Fortress: Fantasy death simulation at its max.
Dwarf Fortress: Death is inevitable.
Dwarf Fortress: Oh, the screams...
Dwarf Fortress: The cells are living too.
Dwarf Fortress: When you play the Game of Dwarves, you die or you lose.

Eh, we probably want to skip references to other franchises though...

Dwarf Fortress: You may lose, but the Game is never Over.

I think this one's the best so far.

Dwarf Fortress: Strike the earth. The earth strikes back!

I can only imagine a dwarf hitting the ground with his pick and then the dirt rises in the form of a fist and punches him. That is Dwarf Fortress!

"Die puny silicon-based lifeforms!"
DF is, to say the least, good at crashing my computer.
Also:
"It has spawned at least two eldritch abominations."

Isn't that just what happens if a dwarf stands on a spot marked as a dump site?

DF calculates falling damage like this:

Urist McMason falls from a tall tower. He hits to ground. Ground's density is calculated, and then the ground strikes the dwarf with power of density+falling height. And then the dwarf dies. Because he got hit by the ground. You can scientifically prove this by building some light material floor and heavy material floor and drop dudes onto them. Ones with heavy material will get hit much harder gy the ground.

So, in DF, quite literally, the earth strikes back.

I can't understand how the heavier material=more dangerous stuff makes any sense, although that's just as true for a lot of DF stuff. Harder, stronger material=more dangerous would make more sense. A matress may be heavier than a sheet of iron, but which would you prefer to fall on?

At any rate, "Every reaction has an equal and opposite reaction" means that the earth strikes back in real life too.
