Also, I wrote this for a Minecaft server cause why the hell not? Just something random, but I did feel like the narrator, namely me, lost something in the form of the diamond armour I'd had from the start of the game. Anyway, strange Minecraft poetry ahoy!
First came the dwarf, and he was dead.
He slumbers now eternally.
Rest not, you bones, rest not
You lived quite fitfully.
Your blade, it sings no more.
No more your arrow flies,
For though your heart was pure
All majesty dies.
You stepped into another realm,
Your heart was thunder loud.
To the victor goes the spoil,
To the slave is left the toil.
Rise pick. Rise axe. Rise sword.
Don’t take me at my word,
He died where dragons fly,
Where every soul must die.
But next, there came a man.
He stepped over top the bones
Of Dwarven kin.
His sword aflame, his eyes were stones.
He named himself as Blovv the great,
The dragon swooped from high.
The dead can only watch
As death rains from the sky.
He was encased in rock, and let the Dragon
Come.
It shook the platform with its fire,
And Blovv was doomed to fury’s ire.
He joined the deadened ranks.
Next came Casey, the Noble Maid.
Of her there was much praise
And tidings to be said.
Her bow was strong, her sword was fierce,
The morning glimmered long
Within her shield and habergeon,
Inspiring happy song.
The dragon saw, the dragon saw
The bones of two were slain.
Now these fair ones, or so it thought,
Would soon be there beside them lain.
A slice. A dice. A razor in the air,
Immortal folk and Dragon Kin
Could only wait and stare.
For potion strength and brazen blade
Were for the deaths well paid.
Dark fell the drops, so dark
From high, the dragon’s ire.
The end a prison, all must see,
And death is wreathed in fire.
The Maid yet lived, another came
Who claimed the name of Nancy.
Some said she was a foe,
Some said she was too crazy.
Yet others knew the truth,
That evil is a word
Proven every time by tongue,
Yet falsified by sword.
Nancy was a hero. Peace.
Peace to the End did come,
For though no blade she raised
She did not cower, nor did she run.
More war. She saw more war that day
Than ever in the lives of men
Was known to hold forth sway;
The dead were piled before them then.
Thus stood both Nancy, Casey too
Though down came Dragon fire.
Thus stood the hope of mortal life,
Thus stood that Drake’s desire.
The Drake’s desire. Their deaths.
One thing no prince nor demon
Would ever get that day, or any;
For none would they be killed.
One more. Into the fray, one more.
He named himself as Simon,
Master of the sword.
He named himself as Koss,
The King of Sky and Star,
We heard this fated Lord
Come where the Dragons are.
He ran. Though noble blood is fast,
So is a Dragon’s ire.
The others fought, the Dragon came
With hate that did not tire.
Now Simon stood and cast
His blade upon the earth.
He saw the King of earth and Rock,
He saw the Dragon’s worth.
Upon its death renown would come,
He knew the dwarf that died.
He held aloft his bow and cried:
“To Dwarves and to the Sun!”
Thus shot and shot again
Came from both KoSS and Casey.
Fight was long and fierce,
It raged ‘round Nancy.
Ah, devil’s blood fell once and twice
Upon the hallowed ground.
The End was groaning with its pain;
They heard that fearful sound.
It healed. It healed. From towers tall there came
A glimmering light, an Eldritch flame.
Renewed, the fight began anew
With blood upon the bones
Of Dwarfy and his crew.
KoSS ran. His fear was great, the Dragon large.
But each must have a fault.
He ran, but in the end
Who stood that Fell assault?
‘Twas Casey now who took the reigns,
Fair Maiden, Olden wise
Both in the art of Alchemy
And mystic sorcery,
She looked with gleaming eyes
And saw the problem clear.
Oh, on! On! To the Towers Stark,
Casting off her fear,
Assailing forces dark!
They fell to her, as all things must,
Before the blade, before the bow.
The dragon roared its misery,
And let them see its woe.
It swooped again. Fell! Fell were those wings
That swept with wind and might,
For up the Ender Dragon came,
Oh greatest power! Awesome sight!
No more. No more they fled,
These folk who lived and bled.
KoSS came and stood to shoot the beast,
And Casey came to stain it red.
Dragon blood upon the bones.
The fallen, may they rise?
No chance of that, no magic left…
Unless in Dragon blood,
The Potion of the Wise.
And so they did. The Dwarf,
Bereft of diamond and of heart
Stood with his fellow, Blovv the Brave
And made a fighting start.
One side, came KoSS, the other saw Casey.
Another side came Dwarfy,
And Blovv was on the flank as well
To break that Dragon’s spell.
It roared, oh how it roared!
It soared, oh how it soared!
In majesty, in bravery, it came
And rent the earth with fiery rain.
Such beauty in such evil.
I found it like a rose
That stuck a thorn into my flesh,
And yet was balm to living’s woes.
We cut it down.
The Unity and Bravery of us
Took on this beast.
We won the war.
In light, an emerald spectre shone!
The Dragon fell in light akin to dawn!
The Dwarfy one was there,
Its blood was in his hair.
Renewed from death was he,
Yet saddened yet, for he did see
A rose.
And then the light fell on the exit gate,
The land of life was there
Just on the other side of hate
Was life and laughter fair.
And yet the foulness of the land
Could not yet hide its charm;
An egg there was about the door,
Was hidden from our harm.
We were invaders, and this its home.
The egg, its child, it fought to keep
Alive and well, and yet we came
To send its mother to eternal sleep.
It fought to protect its young, no other cause.
The Dwarfy One was sad, and cried
To think of it, the rose of the End
Who on those rocks had died.
