Hm. First meeting with Betweenford...

You lead Riltia back to the shop room and have her plop the ladder down. It looks to lead into a dark area with some light spots flickering about.

Yeah, and then not that long ago we stared into the broken floor?

Same place, right? And then there's this throw-away line from when we somehow defeated Betweenford the first time!

Sure, most likely he just meant something like "out of sight, out of mind."

BUT

WHAT IF HE WAS LITERAL

The space between dungeon floors... could be Betweenford's brain. Which would tie into the whole "The Warrens are basically the Matrix and Betweenford is Agent Smith" theory.

Having looked at this post, I realize that I'm really tired and shouldn't be allowed near a keyboard right now.

That's the time when you most need a keyboard in my opinion. Have you ever tried reading your pre-sleep handwriting after you wake up the next day?

I forget, is the theory of warrens being a computer, with Oversoul being the operating system, the dungeon a program, and everything underneath that machine language flitting around or was it never said? I can't recall if I said it or someone else.

Either way, crazy theory credence it seems.

Unless we're actually in Oric's mind and Betweenford is the outside contact.

The cycles are him going through some sort of problem over and over, Groundhog Day style, until... something happens?

I've rather been in favor of the "it's all a dream/simulation/nonreality" theory for a while.

I gotta get me one of those extended sigs for things like this.

Open Main Menu, check Spirit Link

After all, we finally unlocked our first spirit duel.

Totally unrelated, but you know the sprite fangame thingy? Feature that it absolutely must have: KEYBINDINGS.

Seriously. FUCKING. Seriously. I have had so much health drained because I was caught between 10 enemies and unable to attack effectively because the fucking jump, attack, and movement keys are so close. Most people use two hands for greater coordination and effeciency. You really should develop some way to make that a thing, because I don't want to go rig up Joy2Key or something like that just to not die. The new versions of the game have alleviated a few problems it had, such as the invisibility of SP and inability to recover, but still. Problems exist with control. Playing the game one-handed should not be a requirement.

I said it before, I'll say it again. The merchants are Oric in disguise.
Oh, how you guys are going to LOVE dungeon level 3.
Why? Lots of nutty-theory-fodder?

Speaking of which, update soon but not tonight.
Aw, oh well.

I can totally buy that

Enemy getting dangerously close to your lair? Why? Easy, just RAISE THE PRICE OF POTIONS.
Why would he sell you potions at all?
Still, I need to use that for one of my games...

I like the theory of the Angels making an operating system to comprehend the power of the OS. Turning it into a giant computer.
WHAT IF THE OS WAS SENTIENT? WHAT IF THIS IS THE OS' BRAIN!

Maybe, but my guess is that it'll be more dickery in the form of new currencies and horrible inflation rates.

I just realized something.

"Watcher of the watch".

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes, anyone?
Then again, it could just be a rhyme :P

Given what we've seen out of them so far, I don't think that guess is too far off the mark.
