Or just hire one really good guy to write all the series, but that would require consistency from GW, and that's anathema to them.

Eh, considering they've covered their asses with 'everything is canon, not everything is true', regarding the Black Library, I think half the point they do it is to keep fans divided so we never boycott them and force them to have reasonable prices.

Hence why I think Emperor is/was/will be an Order god. Order is anathema to Chaos, after all.

I wouldn't want HH to be written by one author. I rather like seeing different styles in different books, some of the authors are better writing particular things and clearly have different interests. And, well. Some of the authors are rubbish and I couldn't bear having to read them for an entire series.

They do have regular big HH progression councils where they talk canon, but I guess there's no close oversight of the novels when they're written. Which is a shame. A project like this is an organizational nightmare.

@nenjin: Please do some quote-guessing for us, I'd love that. :D

No it wouldn't. Not anymore than they'd add female orks.
Orks are a fungi they're genderless

That's what he was saying. They wouldn't add female space marines than they would female orks.

Would the Imperium be better off if Space Marines were an actual race? I mean yeah it might be (MIGHT be) that it'll be them as demigods ruling over the normal scum but considering the grimdarkness of the far future, would it still somehow be better?

That would strengthen Chaos in equal amounts, so while humanity would probably be a bit stronger (even assuming everything else stayed exactly the same except there were more Marines) Chaos would also be stronger, though it would at least make the Nids and DE slightly less of a threat.

Once again, probably it wouldn't actually make a difference, even if it could be done. Numbers of space Marines are more limited by Terra than available candidates.

Space Marines are sterile anyway, IIRC, as a side effect of the space marine process.

I imagine the rest of the various parts of the Imperium prefers to have the space marines reliant on a source of hunans, as mentioned, so they can't go it alone.

One of the books has one of the marines marrying a human girl and having a child.

Besides, most cultures venerate or worship space marines anyway.

This being said, was going to do a Tempestus army with a female commander and then realized that stormtroopers actually don't have any women either.

Its said the best space marines come from the more barbarous worlds of the imperium, because its easier to use initiates that are already somewhat badass and capable for surviving on their own in harsh conditions, and the ones that actualy become space marines become venerated figures in their worlds, so yea, the whole marines in charge kiiiiiiiiind of already happens in some worlds, but mostly just recruiting worlds for the legions.
