My daughter (just a few weeks past 2), was at school today and someone hit her. According to the teachers, she let out a loud and clear 'FUCK!'.

I hope the teachers made more of a problem of her being hit than of her using a four letter word

Reminds me of the old Anglosaxon verse "he loved his wif with all his lif." You can definitely hear some of its roots in Dutch

That is objectively the correct response to someone hitting you.

When I was in highschool some kid on the other side of art class hit me square in the eyeball with a flicked pen, and I exclaimed "agh son of a bitch!" without thinking about it. The teacher was mostly okay once he learned what happened, chastised them as much as me. I got a reputation for swearing from that though

I remember back when people were afraid of Kim Jong-un, how far we've come.
Well now Russia is dependent on NK aid and a proxy front for the Israeli-Iranian cold war, we all clearly expect Kim Jong-Un to live up to his newfound credentials as a reliable partner for world peace :'(

People certainly won’t be fighting each other if they’re all dead. It checks out!

I can't stop hearing "Gansters Paradise" as "Hamsters Paradise" thanks to a particular art project. Help me.

Many civilisations throughout history have set up curious features that define "civilised" peoples. The ancients posited that civilised peoples lived in walled towns, drank wines or teas, had written language and so on. I believe the goalposts of civilisation have moved - now the mark is;
-Do people hold open doors for one another. This indicates a willingness to mildly inconvenience one's self to help others,
-Do people try to apologise for getting in your way, but have so little breath ready, that instead of actually saying anything they just do a breathless whisper, as if they were a sexy character from a 19th century romance novel?
-Have you ever been in a three-way puzzle of peoples trying to insist someone cross a doorway first, with the puzzle being that everyone is insisting the other go first, but no one is even sure who is insisting who go first anymore? Surefire sign of civilisation.

This is now an outdated goal post. Now one must not open doors for another, lest they be accused of sexism.
