That's a good pack. You forgot to say that you use Sphr's dwarves and creatures. These sprites are awesome, you should give the author a credit.

Thanks!
Yeah, that's true! Phoebus' pack uses resources from many people.
I figured linking to the projects for full credits and details would be better then duplicating the existing credits on all the project pages.
Maybe I'll create some sort of mega-credit list anyways though :P

Edit: And done! Stonesense doesn't even have credit list on its page! I had to hack together what was on the wiki with what I read off the title screen. Also is there anyone else I should add for Dwarf Therapist?
I realize that I could/should have included a README! Next time!

Yeah, Stonesense is hard to credit. There's a ton of graphical work, even mine.

P.S. I wonder why nobody comments on it. It's a really useful download because I see many people everyday asking "how to install this pack?" :).

The pack is actually very useful. I've bookmarked this page and submitted it to reddit. I think this is the perfect handout to my friends who are DF-curious (A new word!?).

Yeah, it should help some people to come out of closet.

And move them back in when the dwarven economy kicks in.

Convenient to have all this together - I've got a new project in mind that Stonesense would probably help a lot. I've never actually used a graphics set to play DF so far but I suppose i could give it a try.

If you don't remember whether the lever will collapse half the fortress, flood it with magma, flood it with water, flood it with water THEN magma, or kill the invaders, you pull it and hope you take the god damned goblins down with you

Well, at least it's appropriately named.

I agree with Urist. Steampunk is like Darth Vader winning Holland's Next Top Model. It would be awesome but not something I'd like in this game.
Unfortunately dying involves the amputation of the entire body from the dwarf.

Nice!  I don't consider myself lazy or a newb, but I haven't been keeping up with the 0.31.xx releases.  It is quite nice to have a set of utilities where I know they should all just work together; I don't have to try to keep track of the latest releases of each individual program.

It wouldn't hurt to specify (in the 'contents' spoiler) that the DF included here is the full (with music) SDL version.

*CoughWhere'sMaydayCough*

Nice pack, would've been useful for me a few weeks ago, but whatever. Should makes some newbs very happy.

Also bear in mind that dwarves have their heads at a perfect height for a good face-kicking.
That's the great thing about this forum. We can derail any discussion into any other topic.

I am very happy

despite not vounting myself to newbs;)
just some RL pressure so I run out of time to check ss/dt threads/svn for 31.xx update.

keep it live in future!

PS: i would recommend variants for lazy people with laptops like alt+cursor second scroll

Wow. Thanks for all the praise guys!

I added some links to resources and where people should go to report problems with individual utilities.

I actually was thinking of altering the keybinds a bit, but thought against it because it might cause confusion/debate.
I like changing my </> keys to ,/.
my up/down to -/= and pageup/pagedown to _/+ (SHIFT versions of -/=)
This reduces the need for pressing shift so often and lets me play without a numpad.
What do people think of that? Maybe an alternate version or keybind file would make sense, with documented changes.

Edit:

Stonesense works for me with this pack. Please note that I have applied an additional .xml file WHICH IS NOT YET INCLUDED IN THE MAIN STONESENSE BUILD. You can find the .xml HERE at the end of the stonesense thread, or just download the version in this pack! If you still have problems with Stonesense not connecting, please post in the Stonesense thread.

I think that's a great idea.  Could you just put all the alternate keybinding files in init folder with alternate names?  Then, if someone wants to use one, they only need to delete/rename the default file and rename the one of their choice.  (e.g., interface_std.txt, interface_nokeypad.txt, interface_lessshift.txt, interface_dvorak.txt, etc.)

Or at least, from my perspective it sounds great.  I don't know how much extra work it makes for you.

(I assume all that changes is interface.txt?  I've wanted to edit the keybindings to work better on my laptop, but I looked in that file and just ... didn't.  OK, so maybe I AM lazy after all!)

Just make a separate download for the keybindings. If newb had changed keybindings noone would be able to suggest him right hotkeys, and send a newb to a "hotkey menu" which has TONS of info is not a good thing.
