Caerwyn and GreatWyrmGold, you're both in. By the way how do you add the tooltip things?

By the way, Caerwyn, your Spindly trait is the magic offset, correct?
Eight players is quite a lot...Indeed, don't stretch yourself.
Better?
….is there a downside/limit to using your magic. Its physically draining when used. However that should be actually implemented as a downside is up to you.
That'll work for a neg I guess, It'll give you a -1 to most rolls for a few turns, that okay?….is there a downside/limit to using your magic. Its physically draining when used. However that should be actually implemented as a downside is up to you.
Make that -1 to any actions involving literal physical exertion (hand-to-hand combat, jumping gaps, etc.) and you've got yourself a deal fella! That'll work for a neg I guess, It'll give you a -1 to most rolls for a few turns, that okay?….is there a downside/limit to using your magic. Its physically draining when used. Looks good. Are you good? Or shall two amoral bastards team up? Because nothing wrong will happen there.
Falvich will slough on-wards, and try to find the general's tent, or surviving allies on his side. His daggers will be at his sides, ready to be drawn at the drop of a coin. He'll try and keep an eye on anybody alive, as well. You don't have your weapons, they were probably looted by those who thought you were dead. There are many soldier's corpses around... *hint hint*
Time to sleep! Woo-hoo, good luck with the RTD.
Gods, am I tired.
Made a couple tweaks to the Turn, you may want to check over it again.((Roger dodger.))
Rob some corpses. Fashon bandage+splint from scattered whatever.
If you do {spoiler=Derm]Stuff{/spoiler} it shows up asMakes it easier to look at things.Spoiler: derm (click to show/hide)
I woke up three minutes ago bluh.
Falvich will slough on-wards, and try to find the general's tent, or surviving allies on his side. If there are any short-swords, dirks, daggers or other various blades of such sizes, he will snatch them up as well. He'll also try and keep an eye on anybody alive.[6] Falvich begins wandering aimlessly through the thick fog quickly leaving the two wounded men behind, but he spots what looks to be a heavily armored warrior walking through the mist. [3] Falvich also finds a lightly chipped dagger stuck in the corpse of a human.
Search the bodies around me take weapons, armor and anything food, water or money left on the bodies. Swords and heavy armor are priority.Juba gets to his feet and begins searching the nearby corpses for any salvageable weapons, armor, and other supplies. [6] He pries a mostly undamaged shortsword from the dead hands of a nearby corpse and places it at his belt. [5] He also spots what looks to be the body of a heavily armored footsoldier [1] But he fails to pull the armor from corpse, its too heavy and you don't think you'll be able to retrieve it yourself. [2] You also find a piece of trampled bread.
Get to my feet and see what's around. Search for a weapon and take it. Preferably a lance or something similar, but anything will do at this point. See if there are any unwounded mounts left alive on the field. Start gathering metal shields and scraps of armour and tossing them together in a pile.[5] Atla gets to his feet and glances around, he notices two men nearby, one a dwarf, the other a strange race known as the dwemer. The dwemer drags himself over the ground robbing corpses before bandaging his wounds, the dwarf eviscerates a random corpse and pulls out two of its organs. Atla can't see anything else beyond the fog; [2] He searches for a polearm and finds half of a spear, the other half is probably nearby though... [1] Atla heads into the fog and quickly finds himself lost, and without a mount. [4] Undetered, he makes a small pile of scrap, prying bits of armor off of the corpses with his spear, and salvaging shields.
Rob some corpses. Fashon bandage+splint from scattered whatever.[3] Derm drags himself across the ground snatching a few sacks off of the nearby dead. [4] Derm gathers some cloth, and other assorted junk and manages to bandage his right hand, stopping most of the bleeding, and fashions a quick splint for his left shin.
"Hmm..."[1] Groz finds a nearby corpse, and checks for a better tunic, you completely obliterate the armor in your search. And there wasn't any tunic... [3] Groz looks around using his natural ability at magic to track down a staff. [6] You turn back to the tunic-less corpse and tear open his chest using a nearby knife, you snatch out his bladder and liver and are overjoyed by the lack of damage.
Rob the nearest corpse for a better tunic, and look to see if there's any mage staff things around.
Oh, and get the nearest bladder and the nearest liver.
Locate a new greatsword, tower shield, etc. Gweg's big enough to einhand a zweihand (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/OneHandedZweihander).Gweg stands ignoring the pain in his chest and searches for a greatsword and tower shield. [5] Within moments Gweg finds a nearly undamaged greatsword off of a nearby corpse. [6] The greatsword was stuck inside a man who seemed to be wielding an undamaged tower shield. You snatch it up quickly.
Search for survivors(ONLY Falvich sees this occur, therefore no one else can address it until they are told by him or they sit it for themselves)
Summon a human-sized golem from the pile of scrap I've collected, pouring more effort into making him intelligent and powerful than large. Find another spear once the summon is finished.
pouring more effort into making him intelligent and powerful than large.
making him intelligent and powerful
How can this end well?I meant more intelligent than the average golem (which is still pretty dumb….), and powerful for his size, since most golems have to be HUGE just to make up for their idiocy and in order to stand against single opponents.
You're going to roll a 6, you know...How can this end well?I meant more intelligent than the average golem (which is still pretty dumb….), and powerful for his size, since most golems have to be HUGE just to make up for their idiocy and in order to stand against single opponents.
Get armor from a different corpse, and take this one's left kidney and right lung. Keep the knife.Groz stands up from the eviscerated man and searches for another armored corpse. [5] He finds one nearby and manages to pull off, [2] its leather gloves and boots, it's breastplate seems to have already been taken. Taking his knife in his hand [4] he swiftly eviscerates the corpse pulling out it's left kidney and right lung, unfortunately the lungs seems to have been pierced, by your knife or another blade you are unsure.
(Counts as two, right? Keeping a knife shouldn't nesessitate a roll.)
Locate someone big or crazy enough to have stolen my armor, or at least find my armor.[2] Gweg searches within the smalling clearing in the fog but fails to find his armor, he is unsure if he wishes to venture into the fog though. [1] You didn't find your armor anyway.
Retrieve and don my armor.
That was good dwarvish steel. Why would anyone take it? It's too big for man or orc and too small for any but a young ogre...
Summon a human-sized golem from the pile of scrap I've collected, pouring more effort into making him intelligent and powerful than large. Find another spear once the summon is finished.Calling upon his arcane power, Atla attempts to create a golem from his pile of scrap. [2] He succeeds in making... something [3] It seems he miscalculated and forgot the upper half of his golem... he has a pair of legs, ready to obey his command. [5] Atla does find a entire spear though, he discards the half and picks up his new, intact spear.
Search out scraps of metal suitable for Magitechnology. Open sacks.Derm came close to losing himself... ((Negative Trait))
Falvich will sneak up to the man, curious as of why his eyes are red. As always, grab anything neat/useful from nearby corpses.Falvich crouches down and begins sneaking toward the man [1] he is unable to find anything on his way. [1 vs. 3] Suddenly the heavily armored man spins, unsheathing a mighty sword. Falvich sees he is wearing a full face helm and a red glow emanates from the two eye sockets.
Eat the bread, Continue searching for any equipment or valuables I can use.Juba eats the bread, it's totally disgusting. [2] He checks a few nearby corpses and grabs a few coins and an [6] exquisite steel longsword.
Attack the foolish elf.The creature lumbers toward the elf.
Quick question, how exactly are you doing/interpreting my negative trait?((I basically guess a random number then use Random.org (http://www.random.org/) to generate a random number between 0 and 10000. The reason there was the little message was because I chose 6218 and the generator got 6228))
Trudge off to the left. Check corpses passively for useful items.
Continue to search for equipment, priority is on a shield, chain mail armor and some daggers. Also gather any more food or valuables I can find and keep one eye on whats going on around me.[2] Juba continues searching for equipment, he grabs a few rusted knives off some corpses. [5] But he also finds a Sack on another corpse. [4] Juba looks around, he sees a half ogre looting some corpses nearby. Nothing else can be seen beyond the fog.
Locate any other stuff I could use, then listen for sounds of movement.[2] Gweg checks a corpse and finds an empty sack. I guess it could be used to carry stuff... except for the hole in the bottom. [2] You hear nothing...
Quick question, how exactly are you doing/interpreting my negative trait?Derm quickly heads off to the left making progress [1] but soon he is completely lost. Derm thinks he spots something, [1] leaning over to check it his broken leg buckles and he falls facefirst into the eviscerated stomach of a nearby corpse. [2] Derm's leg is still broken. [3] You sense something emanating from one of the sacks
Trudge off to the left. Check corpses passively for useful items.
Check for a breastplate; use magic to preserve organs while getting more.[6] Groz quickly finds a completely intact steel breastplate he tears it from the corpse and begins strapping it on. [2] Groz attempts to cast a spell to preserve the organs but fails. Meanwhile he sets to work on the corpse he had just looted. [4] He quickly slices it's chest open and pulls out it's stomach.
Falvich will run. Just run. Looting corpses on the way, too! But mostly running. And looting.Falvich begins to sprint away from the heavily armored creature [2] but stumbles on a few corpses [2] He slips and falls [5] but quickly jumps to his feet and continues to flee. [3] In his mad dash he snatches up a dagger but is unable to get a good look at it. [3 vs. 3] The heavily armored man/creature/thing is still following you.
Take a better look at my spear. Attempt to create the golem a functional upper half.[3] It's still just an ordinary iron spear... [3] You call upon your arcane energies once more and attempt to create an upper half for your golem. You manage to create a head and you place it on top of the pair of legs.
Continue to follow the elf. Grab an axe from a nearby corpse and throw it at the elf.See Falvich's turn | [6] The Heavily Armored Soldier snatches up a beautifully crafted handaxe. [6] He throws it perfectly and it sails through the air right at Falvich.
Can everyone please vote in the poll? Seeing as Falvich may die next turn...Poll? Oh, that poll.
Put sack in pocket. Look around for anything of note.Gweg pockets the empty sack and searches around. Soon after he finds a [3] note on a nearby corpse ((See what I did there?))
Examine jeweled ring in detail.Derm pulls himself out of the corpse and examines the jeweled ring. [4]It is a golden ring, with an onyx gem inlaid within. On the inside there is some writing in an unrecognizable language. [3] It seems to be enchanted in some way, but you can't figure out how.
Get more armor - helmet, bracers, stuff like that. Get more organs - try to get at least one of every vital organ. This includes two of each that require two, ie lungs, kidneys, etc.Groz continues looting corpses and collecting armor. [4] He finds a nice hood and amulet. [6] He slices open the naked corpse and is able to recover a right kidney, left lung, and a heart.
Falvich will put on a quick burst of speed, and try to roll out of the way. If the axe misses, keep going! If it hits...And we're still alive...Falvich will draw his blades, to make a final stand.[6 vs. 6] The axe flies toward Falvich, but he rolls out of the way just in time. [4] He continues to run. [4 vs. 2] You glance over your soldier and you can no longer see that thing that had chased you. Now the question is... where are you?
((Sorry, you never told me what kind of spear it was. :P))[5] Atla quickly collects another pile and tries to repair his golem. [4] Atla succeeds in creating a torso. He attempts to remove the head off of the legs [1] But he ends up completely obliterating it. [5] You easily replace the torso. You know have a pair of legs and a torso ready to serve.
Try once more to fix my good buddy Golem here.
See what is in the sack, then drop the knives and begin heading out of the battlefield, continue searching on the way take all decent quality weapons and armor I come across and any food and valuables.Juba drops the useless rusty knives and opens the sack, [2] inside he finds a few coins but nothing more. He heads out into the battlefield [6] keeping his bearings and creating a mental map of the place. Juba should have no trouble navigating through the fog now. [4] He pulls a chainmail hauberk from a nearby corpse as he explores.
Arms and a head. It's a head on top of some legs. I think it needs a body.
Arms and a head. It's a head on top of some legs. I think it needs a body.
Ah. DISREGARD ME, CHILDREN, I CAN'T READ.Arms and a head. It's a head on top of some legs. I think it needs a body.
He got a torso in the last turn, but he accidently crushed the head.
Wear the ring, scavenge more crap for magitech and try to get somewhere meaningful.Derm takes the ring and place it on his right ring finger, suddenly, the ring constricts around his, now broken finger. Attempting to ignore the pain he scavenge for more usable materials. [5] He finds several chunks of armor and weapons that he thinks will be suitable. Derm begins to walk in some random direction. [5-1=4] after a while, he finds a tree... then a few more. Soon he finds himself within a forest. The fog is much lighter here.
Get a brain, two eyes, both intestines, and a whole skin if feasible, but if not, just a large patch, and some bones. Look around for anything interesting.Groz searches around for another victim and pulls out his knife once more. You know the drill. He manages to recover a [5] brain, [6] a whole skin, [5] and both intestines. [2] The remaining parts have received too much damage from the recovery of the other organs. [3] I'd say a collection of vital organs is plenty interesting.
Read note. You read the note. It seems to be a soldier's letter.
Try to locate signs of life, since the signs of death are not helpful.
(Just watch, I'll roll a 1 and take the heat off of Falvich...Hopefully not...)
Falvich will crouch down and rest for a bit, keeping an eye out for that crazy soldier. Resume looting the corpses, too, dammit! Elves need LOOT!Falvich crouches down to rest. [2] He doesn't see the soldier, but it may just be the fog. [1] It looks like Falvich just happened to rest in a spot devoid of corpses... too bad. [6] You're right elves do need loot, +trait.
Put the armor on and continue heading towards the edge of the battlefield, Continue taking any good quality weapons and armor. Also continue taking any food or valuables I come across until my bag is full.Juba dons the Chainmail Hauberk and uses his mental map [3+3=6] to head towards the battlefield's edge. He should reach it in 2 turns. On his way he finds [5] a Maille Coif. [1] Unfortunately he finds no other valuables.
Arms and a head.Atla once more attempts to create a pair of arms for his golem. [1] He accidently destroys the majority of his scrap supply. [3] But he does succeed in creating a new head, albeit of lesser quality. Regardless [3] Atla places the head atop his golem. He now has an armless golem, ready to obey his command.
Wonder why someone was walking around with a ring that breaks fingers. It's a curse, meant to keep people from stealing the ring.
Put on the coif, Continue my search for any weapons, armor, shields, food and valuables I come across on the way from the battlefield. The equipment must be undamaged quality or better, place it all within my sack. Make sure the short sword is on my right hip and the longsword slung across my back.Juba straps on the maille coif and continues his trek through the battlefield. Quickly sheathing his sword at his right hip and slinging his longsword across his back. [3] Through his trek, Juba finds an undamaged glove, he quickly pulls it onto his right hand and continues. He should reach the edge of the battlefield next turn.
(( I wish I'd taken a +1 to scavenging lol but hey I have a map at least which gives me an advantage over everybody else :). ))
Approach crouching figure, sword drawn.[4 vs. 2] Gweg manages to sneak closer to the crouching figure staying out of sight. He [2 vs. 1] loudly pulls his sword from his back, but the figure seems not to notice by some stroke of luck.
Wonder why someone was walking around with a ring that breaks fingers. Attempt to craft a workable magnetic harquebus (http://i725.photobucket.com/albums/ww259/eryndur1/MacsRifle.jpg) out of scraps.[5] Derm ponders why someone would have a ring that breaks fingers. He decides it was either to keep it from being stolen, but then why would it continue to constrict around his finger? Perhaps it is to keep it on someone. Derm is still confused but goes about attempting to create a Magnetic Harquebus. [5] Derm uses [1d3 = 3, 1d1 = 1] all of his metal and succeeds in creating the weapon.
Arms.[4] Finally, after all this time Atla succeeds in creating a pair of arms for his golem. He brings the two arms over to attach them [1] and smashes them [5] but he quickly mends the damage and finally [4] has an entire, functional golem, ready to obey his command. ((I added the extra roll after you smashed the arms, because well, I'm tired of writing turns about you trying to create a golem))
Get two eyes and some bones from another corpse. Look around to see if anything's moving.Groz, continuing his collection of various body parts attempts to pluck out two eyes from the corpse of a nearby man. [1] But he squeezes a little too hard and the two eyeballs explode in a watery mess. Frustrated, [5] he strips all the meat off the corpses and collects [6] a skull and 7 other assorted bones.
Falvich shall loot! LOOT! LOOT THE GLORIOUS CORPSES OF FALLEN FRIENDS AND FOES![2] Falvich searches a few nearby corpses and finds only a [half eaten apple+1] an apple. He searches another few corpses and finds [6+1] a beautifully crafted chainmail hauberk and [6+1] enthusiastically pulls the excellent coif from the corpse as well, finally, he strips off the maille gloves and chausses.[5+1] Suddenly, you hear a thundering to your left... something heavy is approaching.
Search the area all around me for more equipment or anything else of use.Juba stops and begins searching for more equipment [3] He finds another glove which he pulls onto his other hand. Then as he treks on, the fog dissipates, and Juba finds himself in a large meadow, devoid of corpses.
"Hello there. Who are you and what are you doing?"Gweg calls out to the crouching figure...
Chase figure if he runs, counterstrike if he attacks. Otherwise, chat.
Walk further from the fog, climb a tree, and attempt to see where I am/anything of note.Derms pulls further away from the fog and [5] quickly scales a tree. [3] Scanning his surrounding he spots a small meadow, but can't see anything else over the taller trees.
Wear that unidentified amulet and hood while getting two eyes and another skin. Then look around to see if anyone's there; people usually don't like it when Groz harvests corpses.Groz takes the amulet and pulls it around his neck and nothing happens, it seems to just be an ordinary silver amulet. He pulls up the hood and searches for another corpse to take eyes and skin from. He finds one nearby and [4] quickly plucks out its eyes [6] and somehow ends up getting two times the skin from one corpse. He glances around [1] and spots something or someone nearby, it appears to be approaching, with a slight limp, sword in hand.
((Yeah, me too.))Atla searches for a weapon to equip his golem and orders it to do the same. [4] [4] You each succeed in finding an iron club. Which the golem takes, one in each hand.
Find a weapon for the golem and order him to help you do so.
Falvich will slip into his newly acquired gear, and try and crouch somewhere out of sight, and observe what's coming.Falvich quickly slips into his gear and [3] crouches behind a corpse, [4] he glances at the approaching humanoid who calls out, "Hello there. Who are you and what are you doing?" The humanoid stops, but... the thundering continues...
Sorry, last post for me tonight, it's 11:06 PM. Night!
[oldman]Now listen here, sonny, I'll leave this here battlefield when I please, and not a moment sooner![/oldman]Fine with me... I'm not forcing you to leave.
((Not arguing; that's probably how Groz would react though.))[oldman]Now listen here, sonny, I'll leave this here battlefield when I please, and not a moment sooner![/oldman]Fine with me... I'm not forcing you to leave.
Turn round and head back into the battlefield towards where I saw the half ogre earlier, continue gathering equipment on the way and look for any other survivors, but do not head to far back into the battlefield.Juba turns away from the meadow and heads back through the battlefield, [1] through his trek he finds nothing, no survivors, no equipment. He searches the general area around the half ogre's position [1+3=4] and notices a trail of large footprints.
Call out to the approaching figure.Groz calls out to the figure, "Greetings, fellow flesh! Come to partake in the pickings? I thing I got everything I need here though; you can have the rest. Except for any shinies. Those are mine." Seemingly enraged the figure raises its sword and charges toward him shouting "You bastard!", though the figure appears to be limping. [3] Quickly Groz snatched up a small ring and placed it in his pocket. The figure should reach him by next turn.
"Greetings, fellow flesh! Come to partake in the pickings? I thing I got everything I need here though; you can have the rest. Except for any shinies. Those are mine."
Search around for any rings, bracelets, necklaces, amulets, etc, that might be around here. Use magic to see magic items; collect those first.
Keep heading outwards. Keep Harquebus at the ready.[5] Derm hurriedly climbs back down the tree and begins moving his way through the forest once more, Harquebus at the ready. [4] Soon after, he finds a small nondescript trail.
Pat my golem on the head. You're such a badass dude.Atla pats his golem on the head while calling him a badass. [6] The golem raises his hand with his fingers splayed out, he seems to want a high five. [1] Atla is too preoccupied with his golem to try leaving the battlefield
Find a way off the battlefield.
Falvich will leave this battlegrounds! Looting on his way out, of course. Aim specifically for magical items/money/good weapons to replace his old, junky ones.Falvich ignores the voice calling to him and runs while he is running he grabs [6] 3 [5+1] exceptional daggers, dropping his other junky dagger on the floor. [4] He should be out of the battlefield in two turns.
Do I hear the thundering? If so, try to figure out what and where it is. If not, call out to the figure again.Gweg no longer hears the thundering, but it's too late to call out to the figure, it has already ran off. Suddenly, the booming returns. [2] He turns and looks around but fails to spot anything. [4] It seems to slowly be coming closer.
Onwards! To the left assuming I came at the trail perpendicularly!Derm turns and heads down the path to the left for some time [2] not making much progress, but progress nonetheless. [1] Derm sees absolutely nothing of note... except some trees.
"Oy...This can't be good...and there's that coward..."Gweg begins running toward the figure [2 vs. 3] but fails to gain any ground. Gweg calls out, "Identify yourself, I do not wish to kill you but I may have to if you do not respond!" [2-1=1] While running Gweg fails to grab any loot.
Chase the figure. Request that he tell me the phrase used to denote his identity, unless he is curious as to the structure of the Afterlife. Not in such fancy words.
If possible, grab loot, because my dedication to not grabbing stuff when it doesn't make sense to has left me under-equipped.
Falvich will push onwards, and get out of the battlefield!Falvich hears a voice calling out from behind him "Identify yourself, I do not wish to kill you but I may have to if you do not respond!" [4] Falvich continues running through the battlefield, [3-1] failing to get any loot as he does so. He should reach the edge of the battlefield next turn.
But, while doing so inthemeantimehe'llstopbyandgrabanyvaluables such as, but not limited to: Magical trinkets/scrolls, jewelry, coins of any kind/etc.
LOOT, man.
High five!! You're so cool. :D[3] You give your golem high five and begins searching for armor, [4] He finds no retrievable armor but he does find a nice halberd.
Search for better armour, even though I'm technically made of it.
"You need to walk the other way, fella."Calling upon his magic [4-1+1=4] Groz twists the figure's feet around at the ankle [1 vs. 6] the figure trips and falls to the ground and impales his heart on a nearby sword.
Reform figure's feet so they're on backwards.
Follow the tracks and continue gathering equipment.[2+1] Juba continues to follow the footprints and hears a voice calling out in the distance. [6-1=5] On his way through he manages to grab 5 sacks from some nearby corpses.
It was 9PM when you posted that.
Stuff every single item I find into the sacks as I go no matter what it is, find the ogre and very politely tell him to follow me then head straight off the battlefield as fast as I can whether I find him or he follows me or not.[1] Juba finds nothing as he [3] hurries along the tracks and spots the half ogre just as it begins to run off. [4] He begins sprinting through the battlefield after him glancing back, Juba spots several heavily armored figures lumbering after him.
Onwards![3] Soon, Derm finds the path leaves the forest out into an open plain. [3] In the distance, he thinks he can see what looks to be a stone wall.
Keep.[3] Gweg continues to chase after the elf who seems to have stopped and is now looting a nearby corpse. [3-1=2] While running Gweg only manages to find a sack. [4] He glances behind him and realizes he is being followed by a human.
Running.
FAST!
(Grab any loot I come across, I'm seriously in debt.)
Creepy. Just like the time when I was up in Oratay. That place was weird. Hang on to the spear for throwing and check out the halberd. What's it made of? Is it sturdy or just fancy? Anywho, attempt to discern the source or direction of the "thundering". Grab some armour while I'm discerning.Atla examines the halberd, [4] it seems to just be a sturdy steel halberd. Checking around him he notices several heavily armored soldiers heading towards him. [1] Too distracted by the approaching figures he fails to grab any armor.
Falvich just wants out of this damn place. But, wait...What's that? Is that a wizard's corpse? Oh em gee, it must be relived of it's objects of value! Who knows what would happen if a WIZARD ZOMBIE arose, shrouded in HIGHLY MAGICAL ROBES with DOZENS OF VALUABLE, ENCHANTED RINGS and a staff of +6 MURDERING? Gods above, this elf must SAVE all those poor, potential victims! By...Looting! By the way, he'll loot without running. He's far enough away, he can take his time. If that guy gets closer, just shout out something like "I'm just a poor peasant m'lord, trying to escape this gruesome battle which, miraculously, I survived! Please don't harm me!"Falvich goes utterly batshit insane and starts looting a nearby wizard's corpse. [6+1=7] He snatches up two unidentified rings and [2] a sack. He glances around and notices the half ogre hasn't gained on him but an old foe has. Three of the heavily armored figures from before are approaching from his left.
"My loot cries out for the vengeance of my other loot, which can only be repaid with at least twice as much loot! Or maybe three times as much loot! Like if you went to heaven, and it was full of loot, and that loot was on fire, and it was raining loot, then maybe that would be enough loot! Eh... but probably not."
Groz sniffs the air. "Storm's acoming. After looking for any other valuables - magical or not - he scurries away from the thundering.[5] Groz grabs a ring and a robe from a nearby corpse and begins to move away from the thundering, checking around he notices a couple of heavily armored soldiers moving toward him.
Find the survivors!
Catch the half ogre and shout at him to follow me then head off the battlefield as fast as possible grabbing any loot possible on the way without stopping. The half ogre ignores Juba so he just decides to run for it [4+3] He quickly finds his way out into the meadow from before, after grabbing a [3] a chipped dagger.
To the wall! Climb the wall!Derm [5] sprints over to the large stone wall begins the climb. [1] He leaps up to the first handhold but falls right down again, stunning him briefly.
Gweg turns to the elf. "Only one question really matters: Friend or foe?"Gweg turns to the elf, but is completely ignored as the elf puts on two rings and begins screaming wildly as his hand bursts into flames. Gwegs quickly checks his surroundings [6] and realizes 5 of the heavily armored soldiers are heading towards him from the left and front.
Attack anyone who attacks me first.
((I rolled for the weapon when I looked at it? Oh.))[4] Atla quickly drops down before any of the soldiers notice. [4] His golem quickly dives to cover as well as the soldiers bear down on them. The one in the lead stops just a few feet from Atla, searching for any movement.Turn towards the soldiers and ready my halberd, but don't wield it in a threatening manner. Address them and ask them what intentions they bear.Go to ground amongst the dead. Motion for my golem to take cover before they can see him.
"You ain't gettin' me! Use magic to move superfast away from the soldiers until they're far away, then eat the nearest edible thing (this includes corpses) to replenish reserves.[6-1+1=6] Groz conjures up a wormhole and dives through it. Within half a second Groz regains consciousness and falls several feet onto something made of rock.
Falvich will wear the rings, for better or for worse, and start fleeing again. This can't be good...This definitely can't be good.Falvich continues to ignore the half ogre and puts on the rings. [1] First off his right hand bursts into flame and begins screaming in pain. [4] The ring on his left hand starts to heal the wound.
Find and kill the survivors!
AGH OH GOD, TAKE OFF THE BURNING RING...Better. Now, shout a "Hail Mary", and get out of this blasted battleground.[6] Still screeching in pain Falvich tears off the ring and shouts to the sky [3] "THANK GOD THAT'S OVER!" and runs, completely ignoring the half ogre once again. [5] Falvich quickly runs through the battleground his hand no longer in pain. He should get out in one turn.
Up the damn wall.[2] Derm jumps up and grabs for the first ledge, but starts to fall [3] luckily he is able to hold on. He begins to climb again and realizes this may take a while. Soon, Derm comes across a spot where the nearest handhold he can see is 5 feet away.
Assess my surroundings then staying on the edge of the battlefield gather up as much equipment as possible from the bodies, keep an eye out for the enemy soldiers.Walking along the perimeter of the battlefield there are hardly any corpses nearby, [3] though Juba does manage to scavenge a sock. [6] Soon though he spots a fire in the distance surrounded by several small huts. It looks to be a camp.
"Who are you and what are you doing?"[2] Gweg calls out to the soldiers but they ignore him and continue to approach. Suddenly, one of them attacks [2 vs. 2+1+1=4] But Gweg rolls out of the way. Gweg quickly counters swinging his greatsword at [4] the knight's head [5+1=6 vs. 2-2=0] Gweg's sword crashes into the soldier's helmet full force. [1+2+1=4 vs. 5+?=?] But the knight merely staggers backward a couple steps.
Attack the soldiersifwhen they attack me.
Conjure a flesh golem directly behind them from the corpses littering the field, and have it attack them. If an INTACT GOLEM is successfully created, order it to attack them. All of this is done without leaving cover.[5 vs. 4] [4 vs. 1] Atla and his golem manages to continue blending in as Atla begins to conjure up a flesh golem behind the knights. [6] The flesh golem is quickly formed and it immediately charges the nearest knight. [2 vs 6-2=4] But the knight sidesteps the fierce attack and whirls his sword around to slash the golem in half [4 vs. 2] The sword [6+?=? vs. 6] cuts into the flesh golems side, but it is left mostly unaffected.
Assess surroundings(where I am, if anyone is there, etc). Put on the robe and check the ring for curses.[4-1=3] Glancing around, while still dizzy from his trip he notices he is sitting in the middle of a crowd of people who seem to be staring at him. Ignoring them, he pulls on his body part-lined robe and checks the ring. [4] It looks to be enchanted, not cursed.
Slaughter the survivors!
Falvich will continue to run out of here. And...He...Well, let's...I...He'll loot something on the way, -1 modifier be damned.[4] Falvich continues to hurry through the battlefield [2+1] snatching up an empty pack before bursting out into a forest.
Put my foot where my hand is now and leap upwards toward it.Derm [3] takes his foot up to his hand and leaps up [1] Derm flails around reaching for the handhold but misses and begins hurtling towards the ground [5] he quickly reaches out and grabs one of the handholds and by some miracle only strains his arm.
I have no armor, am outnumbered, and have no motivation past survival to fight...[1] Gweg stumbles and falls to the ground. The nearest warrior steps forward and stabs down at his chest [4 vs. 4] [6+?=? vs. 4] The blade pierces through Gweg's chest. The warrior withdraws his blade and as Gweg's vision begins to darken at the edges it seems that they depart.
Escape. I'm taller than these guys, right?
Is it an enchantment that will cause harm to me? If yes, don't put the ring on. If not, wear it.The rings seems safe so Groz puts it onto his right ring finger. He feels... something. [6] Groz gets to his feet and asks the nearest person, "Who are you?" they respond and tell him, "You just appeared out of nowhere in the market. I think the question we should be asking is who are you?"
Stand up and inquire as to who these people are.
Head towards the camp, be quiet and avoid being spotted, toss the sock away and keep an eye out for anything of value.Juba tosses the sock away and sneaks toward the camp, trying to stay out of sight [4 vs. 4] he reaches the edge of the first hut without being spotted. [6] A chalice sits in the middle of the camp beside a fire.
Count the soldiers quickly. If there are three or less, order your iron golem to join the battle and crush the skull of the soldier who is distracted by my flesh golem, then stand and get within a comfortable range before lobbing my spear at the next nearest soldier and attacking him with my halberd. If there are more than three, slip away quietly with my iron golem in tow while the flesh golem holds them off.[1] Due to Atla's angle from the ground and the chaos of the flesh golem in combat with the soldiers, Atla cannot keep track of how many there are. [4 vs. 1] Atla does manage to stay hidden though. His flesh golem leaps forward to attack the nearest soldier once more [5 vs. 4-2=2] the hit connects with the soldier [3 vs. 3+?=?] but does no damage. The soldier lunges forward with surprising speed [4 vs. 1] [6+?=? vs. 3] and impales the golem through the chest with his greatsword. The golem falls apart on the ground in front of him.
Slaughter the survivors!
Falvich, presumably clear o' this blasted battleground, will strike to the south; - Ye'll always find a village or sometin' to the south, people like the warm winds. As such, he'll try and find one such village, or more preferably, a town.Falvich heads south for a little bit and [2] fails to find any settlements within 100 yards.
Fake death.[6] Gweg fakes death so hard, that something SO THOROUGHLY CONVINCED HE WAS DEAD decides to take pity on him and patches up his chest wound. Gweg is no longer bleeding, though he will have to wait for the wound to completely heal. ((That was EXTREMELY lucky, rolling anything beside a 5 or 6 would have killed you. A 5 would have only delayed your inevitable death by another turn))
Make sure it stays fake.
Use luck magic thingy?
Onwards and upwards![4] Derm continues up the wall being careful to avoid using his left arm. He should reach the top next turn.
Groz will reply, "Why I'm me of course! No harm to you, and you are you of course! Merchants or something. Where am I, incidentally? Also preferred would be a short description of the land's history and any recent troubles and who I'd talk to about that. That's what nonadventurers do, right?Groz begins speaking with the man when suddenly [1] his eyes go down to the ground next to Groz and he exclaims, "Is that blood coming out of your robe?"
((What a waste. I didn't want to stick around and watch the flesh gol' get wasted, I wanted to get out of there! I should've added a provision in case my spot check failed.))[4] Atla summons another golem and makes a break for it with his iron golem [1 vs. 4] the warriors fail to notice and engage the golem. Atla, suddenly bursts out of the fog, finding himself in the middle of a small camp.
Summon another flesh golem near the soldiers as a distraction and bail quietly with my iron golem.
Check the huts and remain hidden, keep my hands near my weapons.Juba steps into the nearest hut and looks around [3] he begins pocketing a few coins when he hears something growl behind him...
Groz will reply, "Why I'm me of course! No harm to you, and you are you of course! Merchants or something. Where am I, incidentally? Also preferred would be a short description of the land's history and any recent troubles and who I'd talk to about that. That's what nonadventurers do, right?
Look around the camp and see if anyone is lurking about. Loot everything immediately in sight if I can't see any people wandering about. Ready my spear for a good toss should the need arise.Atla slowly walks into the camp with his golem behind him, [3] he checks the nearest hut and finds a group of ten, maybe twenty human men lying in small beds, they all appear to be wounded. [1 vs. 6] They don't seem to have noticed him yet.
Well get to it then.[3] Derm quickly pulls himself over the battlements and finds himself atop a thirty foot wall. He looks around and spots several human soldiers to his right and left.
Inspect self. If wounded, fix. If not, explain that it's just my insurance policy and repeat my query for information regarding location, brief description of recent troubles and who I'd talk to about that. Basically,Groz opens his robe [2] only to realize it was blood dripping from one of his many organs, and he's just showed his collection to the crowd in front of him. He pulls his robe around him once more and asks for information regarding location and a brief description of recent troubles. [2] The man just shakes his head horrified and runs.Groz will reply, "Why I'm me of course! No harm to you, and you are you of course! Merchants or something. Where am I, incidentally? Also preferred would be a short description of the land's history and any recent troubles and who I'd talk to about that. That's what nonadventurers do, right?
Kill the dog before it can bark.[2] Juba swings low at the dog, only to realize it isn't just a dog. [5+3 vs. 5+?=?] The blade [3+2=5 vs. 3] cuts into the creatures leg causing it to stumble briefly. The creature lunges at Juba [2 vs. 3] but he's able to roll out of the way.
Make sure the armored soldiers are gone. If so, sneak off the battlefield. The armored soldiers appear to be gone, so Gweg stands and hurries toward the edge of the battlefield, [5] within a few minutes he bursts out of the fog into a meadow.
Falvich is going to grumble, and try again...[2] Falvich searches another 100 yards to the south and finds no villages.
"Oh fer - YOU PANSIES! THAT'S JUST MY INSURANCE!"[2+1=3] Groz calls out, affecting only the man beside him who responds, "Ummmmmm, there really aren't any troubles, I mean, a dwarf recently came by with a robe full of human organs but..." [5] Groz hears a loud clattering of metal down the street.
Groz uses magic to enchant his voice so that commands made by him must be obeyed by all who hear it except him.
"Now, where am I have there been any recent troubles about, and who could I talk to about that?"
((I find it exceedingly funny that everyone else is/was fighting/running for their lives and I'm conversing with merchants.))
Search for a way down the other side.[5] Derm quickly spots a tower to his left with two guards beside it, to his right is another guard and tower, or he could jump and hope for the best.
Slaughter them all with my halberd. No one will notice a little extra screaming. Have my golem wait just inside the entrance to ambush anyone who walks in on me executing the wounded. Once they're dead, pile the bodies, loot them for armour or baubles, and create a flesh golem.[6] Atla swiftly slaughters [1d20=18] 18 of the wounded as his golem waits beside the entrance, two survive and begin screaming for help. Seeing as they are all in a hospital they are clothed in well, nothing and thus have nothing on their corpses. [1] Suddenly 5 human soldiers barge into the hut before the iron golem is able to react.
Finish it off, cut off it's head.[4+3=7 vs. 5+?=?] The creature dodges out of the way of Juba strike and lunges for his right elbow [6 vs. 2] [6 vs. 1] the creature latches on causing a jolt of pain up Juba's right elbow, the creature yanks it's head back, tearing a chunk of flesh off of his elbow.
VILLAGE. FIND. Continue on this epic journey![3] Falvich eventually comes across a cobblestone road, it looks like it may lead to a town or village of some kind.
Locate a village or something. A place with food and shelter.Gweg [6] searches around and suddenly finds himself in front of a town's gatehouse.
Keep attacking but use the pommel of my blades to incapacitate it without killing it.[6+3-1=8 vs. 2+2=4] [4+2-1=5 vs. 3] Juba bashes the pommel of his sword against the side of the hound's head. The hound seems stunned and falls to the ground, still breathing.
(( Wtf how big a bonus does that thing have and how did it's teeth just go through my mail armor? ))
Long, sharp teeth and/or magic.[4] Gweg hammers on the door and calls to the guards in the gatehouse above to be let in. A man peers over the parapets, "Who goes there?"
Ahem.
Knock on the gate and ask to be let in.
To the right![5] Derm runs to the soldier and tower on the right. The guard spots him, and places his hand on his sword hilt, "Who are you and what are you doing here?!
What did you expect? WALK THE ROAD!Falvich heads down the road to the right, [5] soon after, he spots a gatehouse in the distance.
Lob my spear at the closest soldier's throat, then come out swinging with my halberd before the others can react. Have my golem block the entrance and force the soldiers towards me by swinging at their skulls. See if I can't get another flesh golem up while I'm at it. If I manage to get a working flesh golem, instead of having him join the fight just yet, order him to kill and absorb the two remaining wounded soldiers into his mass.[6+1=7 vs. 4] [4+2=6 vs. 3] The spear stabs through the soldiers unarmored throat and he collapses with a gurgling cry. [2] Atla charges forward but one of the nearest soldiers attacks first with his sword. [5 vs. 6] But Atla jumps over the blade swinging his halberd as he does so. [5+1=6 vs. 1] [1+1+1=3 vs. 3+2=5] The blade clangs against the soldiers armor, knocking him over. Atla's golem ((You should give it a name)) steps behind the soldiers and swings for the nearest man, [1 vs. 2] but the man ducks the blow and stabs at the golems torso. [4 vs. 5] But the golem just steps out of the way.
Groz quickly throws a veil over himself, preventing him from being seen. He looks in the direction of the clattering to see what it is, and hides if hostile.Groz [3] ducks into a nearby cloth stand, hiding among the various silks and linens. Moments later a group of 2 guards charge out into the square. [5 vs. 5] One of the guards begins moving toward the stall.
"Oh me? There was a thingy over yonder. Wossname? Quarrel? Brawl? Battle? Battle, yes, that sounds right. So, there was a battle over yonder, I woke up in the middle with broken bits and no idea where I am or what I was doing there. Decided, 'You know what would be a good idea? Fix me broken bits!' So I scavenged a little, made a splint and a... ah wot's the name... big thingy, has little booms in it... ah yes! Harquebus! Made myself a magnetic harquebus which, I might add, is within easy reach. I could put a hole into four inches of solid lead with this. And then I thought 'Well this place is a bit morbid, let's go explore!' Then I wandered off into the mists, found a road, road led me to this wall, I spent a bit climbing up the wall, and now here we are. Hello, I'm Derm and I haven't the foggiest clue!"[4] "Eh, very well... Derm... care to follow me down to where you should be?" The guard motions toward the tower stairwell.
Look for some means of restraining the beast, check outside to see if anybody or anything is coming to investigate.Juba [6] checks his surrounding and quickly finds a nice thick rope, he binds the hound's legs and keeps it's mouth shut before going out to investigate. [6] The camp is completely empty from the look, and sound of it.
Groz magically throws his voice to come from another stall.[1+1=2] Groz call out from under the cloth, "Hey, are you guys looking for me?" [3 vs. 6] But by some miracle the soldiers hurry off in another direction.
"Gentlemen! Who are you looking for? Who are you?"
That voice enchantment thing still applies.
"I am a warrior of light fleeing from forces of darkness. I would like sanctuary and sustenance, and in exchange I will help around your fine town any way I can."[2] "And how do I know you're tellin' the truth? Don't see many ogres 'round these parts that just want a friendly chat. They jus' wanna rip yeh into tiny pieces!"
Hope I get in...
((Ooooh!! Good idea!! How aboooouuuuttt…….Hans! :D))Atla dodges backward before quickly swinging his halberd around [6+1=7 vs. 1] [4+2+1=7 vs. 2+1=3] He cleanly slices through the first guards mail coif parting his head and the nose, Atla quickly lunges forward once more and [6+1=7 vs. 1] [5+2+1=8 vs. 2+1=3] impales the next guard, Atla twists the halberd and yanks it from the man pulling most of his vital organs with it.
Back up some to get some room and whip my halberd around and catch the guard in the head with the blade, then follow up with a swing to the next one.
Bash some skulls and please his master.Hans jumps up [5 vs. 3-1=2] and crushes the the downed guards head beneath his foot. The final guard is easy prey as he is currently facing away from Hans at Atla, Hans seizes the guards head between his hans and [4 vs. 1] squeezes, causing the mans skull to shatter into several dozen bloody fragments.
Falvich will hail the guards, and if he enters, immediately head to the inn...Falvich hurries up to the gate beside a half ogre who he recalls from the battlefield and calls up to the guards. "Neither a' you are coming through this gate 'til the ogre leaves or you convince me you ain't the enemy!"
And find a comely wench to bed!
((Well damn, I'm just the luckiest dwarf alive, aren't I?))Groz waited several moments noting that the were headed off to his left before hopping out of the merchants stall. Heading to the right [5] you come across a merchant, "You look like a wizard! Come see what I have to offer, or maybe you could help me with something."
Groz waits until the soldiers are gone, noting which direction they go off in, and heads in the other direction, looking for a merchant or something to talk to.
"Oh whats the rush, whats the rush? I just got here, why should there be anywhere I should be? But I suppose I shouldn't be impolite, I just ruined whatever credibility you lot had as guards people when I climbed up the side of the wall in broad daylight so sure. Let's go!"[5] "We don't expect random people to climb our walls. Follow me." Derm follows the guard down the stairwell and upon reaching ground level, is shoved outside the tower by the guard. An iron bolted door slams into place behind him.
Search the camp, gather all equipment and valuables and put it in with the hound, investigate the chalice in the fire[4] Juba finds a pair of leather boots nearby and goes to inspect the chalice, [6] It seems to be an ordinary golden chalice, decked with many different gems and the like, it also seems to be engraved, but it's impossible to tell what it is in the fire. Juba starts to feel lightheaded.
Falvich will just...Uh...Explain that they're not the enemy. Then find a comely wench to bed![1] Falvich tries to explain to the guards but can't be heard over the half ogre beside him. The guard scurries off and several minutes later, the gates open. A group of 16 guards step forward and surround Gweg, one of them gestures to Falvich, "Go ahead."
Bloody high five! We are bad as hell man. See if I can't use the soldiers' armour to beef Hans up a bit, then summon that flesh golem I wanted. Tell the flesh golem to absorb the remaining wounded, bonus points if they're still alive while he does it. Grab my spear while I'm at it.[3] Atla manages to use a few pieces of armor to increase Hans' defense a bit. [2] Atla strains to create a golem from his victims but fails to do so. Slightly annoyed, Atla snatches up his spear.
"As a sign of trust, I will let you keep my sword and shield if I may have them returned once I leave. If you must, they may be returned once I have left the walls of the city.[6] "Fine, wait down there while I get a battalion to escort yeh into the city." The soldier scurries off and several minutes later, the gates open. A group of 16 guards step forward and surround Gweg, one of them gestures to Falvich, "Go ahead."
And incidentally, I am only half-ogre."
Hopefully this increases his true in me...
Blast the lock off.[1] Derm turns around and gestures at the door, congratulations, he added another bolt to the door. ((Just to confirm, you are aware you are outside correct? You aren't in a cell or something.))
"Well that was rude."
Take the chalice and return to where the creature is bound, using magic to heal myself, replace the lost blood and reinvigorate myself.[4] Juba quickly reaches into the fire and plucks the chalice out. His hand is only a little bit warmed. He stands and returns to the hut, upon entering the hound unleashes a cacophony of barks and snarls. Trying to focus, [6] Juba completely heals his elbow and is able to speed up his blood production.
Falvich will nod, and stick with Gweg. If the guards try anything phishy, he'll dig his friend out of trouble. And, if there's a magic shop on the route, Falvich will browse it's wares.Falvich nods and follows several feet behind Gweg watching for anything suspicious, [3] he spots a dwarf speaking with a merchant in the distance but is unsure if he should leave the half ogre.
((Maybe we should have the spell always create a golem outside of combat, and the roll would just be for quality and I could just find more of the same materials later to beef him up if I so desire? Might save a bit of time in the long run. Leaving it as is would be fine though, just something to think about really. :P))((That's a good idea, I suppose if you were alone you would continuously try to summon)) Atla conjures up a flesh golem from his victims. [3] It's sort of slow and loose at the moment, its seems that Atla put a little too much fat in his creation. Turning to the two wounded men, he tells them to stay quiet. The two of them just stare in fear.
Flesh golem. Tell the two wounded men to stay quiet or else.
Make sure I'll get my stuff back when I leave, then relinquish my sword and shield to the most trustworthy-looking guard. Or two, if he can only carry one of them.Gweg hands off his sword and shield to a nearby guard with a crooked smile. [2] "Thanks, I'll eh... keep these safe." The remaining guards all head off in different directions, no doubt returning to their posts. ((Dialogue Start with Falvich, You two can chat about whatever without using an action/turn))
Greet Falvich.
"Lemme see what you have first. Then burden me with your troubles.""Well... erm, that's sort of what I needed help with. You see I only told you I had something to get your attention. My wares were seized by a guard a few days back. Threatened to kill me if he said anything. Perhaps we could make a deal..."
Yes. But the guard shoved me outside without a word. That demands retribution unless otherwise distracted.[6] Derm locks the door bolt from the other side and further strengthens the locks. [2] Derm finding himself in a town, he heads down a nearby alleyway [1 vs. 3] a man lunges toward him but he ducks out of the way, leaving the thug to slam face first into the wall.
Shrug. Make the door bolt from the other side. Wander off in a direction.
Use rope or a strip torn from my clothing to bind the hounds mouth shut. then search the camp much more thoroughly looking for food and water.[2] Juba takes his torn clothing and tears it to shreds. He goes to tie it around the hounds muzzle [3 vs. 6] but it keeps moving it's head and barking making it difficult to tie. [4] Juba hears a booming in the distance.
I'm not the RP-ing type, so I'll pass on chatting.[1] Falvich calls out to a woman facing away, "I LOVE YOU!" She turns around... "FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-" It was a man.
Falvich will continue to hang out with Gweg, and if possible, woo some cute girls along the way.
Bed-time...
[2] Gweg approaches a young man and asks him where he can get some work. Seemingly frightened by his size. The man runs off. So he asks Falvich about the town."Hello, there. Been here long?"
Ninja'd.
Try to ask around for somewhere I can work to earn enough for room and board. Try to learn as much as I can about the town from Falvich while jot disrupting his attempts to woo girls on the way.
((Just watch, I'll roll a 1 and ruin his attempts! Somehow!)
Encourage my flesh golem's current shape by using the excess mass to make him stronger. Have him smother and absorb the two wounded men. Once we're done with that, head outside and count how many tents are in the camp.[1] Atla only ends up piling more fat onto his creation, now it's just a blubbery mass of flesh, he tells Hans to roll it over the now screaming wounded men. They are completely absorbed. Atla heads outside and counts 10 tents, the largest is also the farthest away from the fog.
((I only named Hans because he's made of metal and developed a personality right? My flesh golem is like a standard mook and Hans is like another character?))
"What kind of a deal would this be? Because I don't do prostitution.""Wha? No no no no no! I meant if you could retrieve my merchandise I could give you a few of my wares, no charge."
"Where is this merchandise? Because If it's in the local castle or something, I want two free items and one half-price, of my choosing. That beneficial?""Of course that's acceptable... um, I was taken by a guard... but I don't really know where he took it.
Bang the hound on the head again then tie it's mouth shutJuba [5] bashes the hound on the head, knocking it unconscious, [5] then quickly ties it's mouth shut. [4] The booming is getting closer.
"...That didn't work..."[3] Gweg doesn't spot anything that looks like a town hall so he continues to follow Falvich, he doesn't really learn much, because well, Falvich only recently arrived as well.
Head to whatever looks like a town hall after listening to everything Falvich knows about the town.
With my luck, I'll end up in a brothel...
Leave the flesh golem to its own devices and go check out the next nearest tent with Hans.Alta and Hans cautiously enters the nearest tent with his halberd at the ready [1] It's completely empty, probably where those guards were hiding.
Falvich is going to help inform our Gweg here, and show him some of the best this place has to offer!Seeing as Falvich doesn't really know much about the town, he tells Gweg everything he can remember from before the battle. The information mostly includes the locations of brothels and the houses of attractive women.
... How the hell did I do that? What alleyway?((You wandered off in a direction, so you wandered off into an alleyway)) [5 vs. 1-1=0] Derm, unable to level his Harquebus in such close quarters he just [5 vs. 2] smashes his face in with the butt of the Harquebus, Derm hears the distinct crack of the thug's nose.
Harquebus to the back of the mans head.
"Hello! Fine day, innit?"
Next tent. This time have Hans go in first and draw any hostile occupants into the open while I wait just outside the door in ambush. Repeat this strategy with each tent until we run into a fight.Hans charges into the the tent [6] and to his surprise trips on a massive chest of unknown contents.
"Right, so what have we here. Petty mugger? Thief? Cutpurse, thug, scoundrel, rogue... Oh the possibilities. Enough of that then. If you don't want to be shot you might want to stay down and answer my questions many, savvy?""Of... of... of course ummmmm... sir, I uh... I'll answer any questions you have. Just... just don't hurt me... please!"
Ensure the hound is securely tied then carry it with me and leave the camp heading away from the sound, keep an eye out for food and water sources, keep the chalice with me.Juba grabs the chalice and takes the hound [3 vs. 1] the hound writhes weakly but is unable to escape. Juba tosses the hound over his shoulder and heads out of the camp.
Falvich will head to the local pawn-shop, check the guy's wares, and maybe sell some of his own stuff.[3] Falvich finds a nearby pawn-shop and enters. "Hello there! Can I interest you in some of my wares? Or do you wish to make a sale yourself?"
"All right. What did this guard look like? Any distinguishing features?""Well... he had... a beard...... oh yes! And a great big scar over his right eye. I think he was blind in that one too. It was just like a milky white pool... really all I can remember."
Locate a large building that Falvich did not mention as a brothel and knock on the door. If someone answers, ask for work; if not, move along.((Yeah, I think so)) Gweg [6] finds himself in town square and heads over to a manor off to his left. He goes up and knocks on the door [1] the door opens and an old man clothed in nothing but a loincloth opens the door, "Eh? Whaddya wan..." suddenly the man collapses face first and immediately begins to snore.
((I know Falvich just arrived, but did Gweg?))
Look for any animals dead or alive and search for a safe place to rest.[5] Juba wanders aimlessly away from the camp and eventually comes across a large log. [1 vs. 6] Suddenly, the hound's bindings snap and it falls from your shoulder before whirling around and facing him.
Tell Hans to watch the door while I check the contents of the chest. Have him smash the lock open if it is in fact locked.Atla finds the chest is locked so he calls Hans over to smash it [4] The lock is easily broken open and Hans returns to his position at the door. Atla lifts up the heavy lid and inside is a massive collection of jewels, gems, weapons, and armor.
"Right! Jolly good, Jolly good, now, Where in Tamriel am I? This does not look like Skyrim. Where may I find the closest Dwemer city?""Wha... wha... what?!!? What is Tamriel or Skyrim?!?!?. I don't even know what a Dwemer even is!
((Um, let me think...((For the sake of what has already been written, Gweg assumed Falvich had been here before, which he had. And there was no one in the immediate vicinity to answer his question)) Gweg [1] seizes the old man by the throat and drags him into the manor before tossing him on the nearest bed.
Would Gweg have thought Falvich had found this town by accident and didn't already know about it? And did he have anyone else to ask?)
Help the old man back into his manor house. Try to find a bed or something to put him in.
An unoccupied bed.
"Is there a guardshousee around here, then? Somewhere where the guards congregate?""Yeah... It's over that way." The merchant points in the direction that the two guards from earlier had ran off to.
Uh...The merchant inspects the daggers, "I'll give you 93 gold pieces for the two of 'em or you can have these premium quality ankle shackles and 18 gold pieces."
Falvich will try and sell the unidentified dagger, and one of the others, and attempt to purchase anklets that boost the wearer's movements speed and reaction skills?
"Oh? Really? Interesting, interesting. I was right, those idiots should not have been playing with the heart of a god. Well then, that explains the chill I got earlier. Anyhoo, rips in the fabric of space and possibly time aside, what planet, country, region/state, city, and street am I on, what is the current temporal state, or as I would call it, 'year month day hour and minuiet' and where can I find the nearest metal scrapyard?""Er.... it's uh... the 5563rd day of Sun's Eve, I don't know what the uh... hour or minuiet is... ummmm... and we're in Thandor... please let me go!"
Check for traps and hostile enchantments in, around, under, within, and upon the loot, then, if satisfied there is no danger, stuff the jewels and gems in my pockets and check out the new weapons and armour. If I detect danger, have Hans attempt to disarm any physical traps, and disable hostile enchantments myself. One of us should be on the door at all times during the procedure.[4] Atla checks over the chest and loot and finds no obvious dangers so, he stuffs as much jewels, gold, and gems as he can into your compartments ((because you're a construct)) [6] Atla finds a exceptional steel morningstar as well as a steel club and a few assorted breastplates, gauntlets, boots, but there's too much too keep track of, but he does notice a large crucible steel ingot at the bottom of the chest.
"Well, I'd best be of then. If you see the guardshousesucked into a horrible dimension of eldritch beings, it was most probably me."Groz heads off in the direction the merchant indicated and soon comes across a large, stone building with two guards at the front both plated in steel and wielding longswords.
Head in the direction thequest-givermerchant indicated.
Crack it on the head again hard enough to knock it out for hours.[2 vs. 2+2-1=3] Juba swings for the creature head and misses. [1 vs. 2] It lunges for Juba but he's able to dodge out of the way.
(( This is insane lol I'm knocking it out and it comes around in all of 30 seconds. ))
Head out the door, and try to find work.Gweg heads out the door and looks around for potential work [5] eventually he comes across a poster on a billboard. It looks to be a wanted poster for some bandits in a nearby forest.
Falvich will take just the gold...But try and bargain for a bit more? A hundred gold won't even get you an hour at the Saucy Elves Bed, Bath 'n' Bubbles...[6] Falvich haggles for an additional 40 gold bringing the total transaction to 133 gold. The pawn-shop owner accepts and the trade is done. And he places it in his sack.
Bash it on the head, brake it's legs.[4 vs. 2+2=4] Juba swings at the hound once more but misses again, [3+1=4 vs. 2] the hound lunges forward aiming for Juba's throat [4 vs. 2+2-1=3] the hound misses his throat but bulls him over, knocking him to the ground. [2-1=1 vs. 3+2=5] Juba fails in every way to damage the hound. [3 vs. 1-1=0] The hound pounces on top Juba and lunges for his shin [1 vs 4-1=3] but the teeth fail to get to his skin.
If it's an application to be a bandit, report it to the authorities. It's a application about killing bandits, so he checks the location of the commissioner of the notice, noted on the bottom of the poster. It looks to be somewhere nearby... oh... it's that old man's house.
If it's an application about killing bandits, thank all gods I know and go apply for the job. Learn where the bandits are and such.
((I was expecting some boring job, but this is great!))
Take the ingot (crucible ingot? whats that?). Swap Hans' iron clubs for the morningstar and steel club, then see if I can't use the assorted armour to reinforce myself (in lieu of actually wearing better armour, I guess I can just have reinforcements, and better armour can be turned into better reinforcements? Does that make sense?). Use the rest of the metal to make Hans sleeker to improve his manoeuvrability, but without sacrificing his inherent durability. Once that has been done, see what remains in the chest.Atla takes Hans' clubs and sets them down beside the chest, before handing him the morningstar and steel club. Then, [3] taking a few pieces of armor reinforces himself. And helps to rough out Hans. Remaining in the chest is a large scroll.
Falvich will head to the local Magician's shop, and browse their reagents, trinkets, potions and scrolls.Falvich thanks the pawn-shop owner [4] and finds a Mage's Shop nearby. He steps inside and sees the Mage behind the counter examining something, [1] He can't figure out what it is though. He checks some of the shelves and notices a lot of the wares, are actually just scrolls.
Go up to the guards, though out of sword range.[1] The guards glance to each other, "What? Guards are strictly prohibited to have sheep. He has some?"
"Greetings, fellow meat! Is there a guard in yon stone scaffolding that has a beard and a blind right eye, big scar over it? I have to inform him about something that's come up with one of his sheep."
"Very well then! Thank you!"Derm begins to exit the alleyway, before turning, "Oh right. Second thing!" Raising his magnetic Harquebus and fires, [4+1=5 vs. 2-3=-1] the thug's head blow apart. ((Yeah the helpless and terrified negative bonus is -3)) Derm strolls over to the corpse once more and grabs the thug's pack, weighing it in his hand, it seems to have a hefty sum of gold inside. Derm turns and heads onto the street. [6] He whistles like he's never whistled before and a man runs over and tosses him a few coins.
Walk down the alley, pause.
"Oh right. Second thing!"
About face, blow his head off. (Should I get a bonus for having him helpless and terrified?)
"Nobody mugs a Dwemer. Toodles!"
Take his stuff and stroll on down the street. Whistle.
Brake the hounds damned legs(Why would you want to stop them?)
Brake the hounds damned legs with the hilts of my swords or my mailed fists, bang it on the head if I get the chance.[2-1=1 vs. 4+2=6] From Juba's downed position, the hell hound is easily able to evade his futile attempts to attack. [4 vs. 3-1=2] The hound leaps onto Juba once more and attempts to bite his throat [4 vs. 6-1=5] Juba lucks out once again and his throat remains intact. Juba swings [2-1=1 vs. 6+2=8] for the hound's head but it dodges out of the way and attacks once more [3 vs. 5-1=4] The hound's tooth snags in one of the links of the chain and pulls off most of the chain links surrounding Juba's throat.
See what all this caravan to Harraspor business is about. Check out what all is in the city.Derm looks around and [4] discovers a map nearby. There seems to be most things that would be expected of a city this size. A blacksmith, mage's shop, barracks, pawn shop, town square, message board, etc. But no scrapyard. Derm decides to go to the town square's message board to look for information. [4] He's in luck! They're looking for one more person to protect the caravan.
Of course.Gweg finds a nearby sheet of paper and copies down the info, then he goes to the barracks and briefly acknowledges the dwarf at the front door, he avoids the encounter and asks another guard for his weapons, the guard from before comes of the side door. [3] "Erm... I'm going to have to ask that you exit the gates, then your weapons will be returned to you."
Find a piece of paper. Copy down the info on the sheet. Head to the guardhouse place to get my sword and shield back. Leave town, find bandits.
"Are the townsfolk not the sheep, and you the shepards? If you want me to vocalize it in your lingo, there's been a complaint against him and I mean to see if it's true. Is the guard here, perchance, because you just confirmed his existence."[2] "Of course, and on who's authority?" ((Remember talking is no longer an action. You can chat as long as you want then choose your action once the conversation is over.))
See if I can detect any hexes upon the scroll. If there are hostile magics upon the scroll, toss it back in the chest and move on. If there aren't any traps on it, have Hans open the scroll, and if he doesn't explode, thank him, grab it, and read it myself.Atla doesn't detect anything, though that doesn't mean nothing is there. So he orders Hans to open the scroll, [3] there's a small shower of sparks and a note pops out, nothing more, perhaps it was just meant to ward off any fools who thought it would be a good idea to read it. Atla retreives the note and scroll and begins to read the note.
Falvich will ask the shop-keeper if he can see the..."Specially reserved" wares.Falvich asks the shop keeper, "Hey, where are your, Specially reserved wares?" [1] Visibly startled by Flavich, the mage spins, "What are you talking about, elf! You think I am some black market dealer?!?! Or is that what you had hoped, Spawn of Vemalaaz?!?! Hoping to learn my secrets?!!!!?! Do you wish to steal from me?!???! HMMMMMMM!?!!?!?"
Keep an eye out for scrolls Hans old buddy. Move on to the next tent, using our strategy of bait and switch until we encounter something useful, conspicuous, dangerous, or alive.Atla, heads into the next tent, [6] immediately inside, there is a table, a scroll on top of it alongside a few other shiny trinkets.
(( Uhm why do I have a -1 to attacking? ))Juba begins to stand and the hellhound attacks, [2 vs. 1-1=0] [5 vs. 4+1=5] The hound scrapes Juba's boot but is not damaged significantly. Juba [5 vs. 4+2=6] stomps where the dog's leg was a few moments ago. The hound lunges for Juba's throat once more [4 vs. 5] but Juba steps out of the way.
Get up and cripple the damned dog.
Go apply for caravan duty.Derm checks the address on the sheet and heads off toward the town's east gate. Eventually he comes across a covered wagon surrounded by 3 armed men and another clothed in a gaudy tunic, this looks to be the caravan Derm is looking for.
"Fair enough."Gweg exits the town and turns, the guard tosses his sword and shield to him and Gweg heads for the bandit's camp.
Head to the gate with the guard carrying my gear. Exit gate, retrieve gear, bid the guard good day and head for the bandits.
Falvich will mutter[2] "I REFUSE TO NEGOTIATE!" The mage whips his hand around and a bolt a flame strikes Falvich in the chest, the flame dissipates on contact and Falvich remembers his ring.
"I know about the incident. We know about it. If you want to keep every limb on your body intact, I highly suggest that you give Our agencies...A bit of lee-way. We don't forgive twice.
"Ah, time, always opening one door or another."The guards step aside and Groz enters the barracks. [4] Upon entering, he immediately notices a hooded man, with a beard reaching to his waist, the hood conceals the rest of his face.
Go into the guardshouse, look for the guard.
Continue attacking, shatter it's legs or knock it out.[3 vs. 5+2=7] Juba lunges again but the hound continues to evade him. The hellhound lunges for his throat once more [6 vs. 3] [5 vs. 3] the hound bulls Juba over and locks his teeth into his throat. Juba [6-1=5 vs. 6+2=8] swings at the hellhound, but is too disoriented to hit anything. ((Juba is bleeding lightly right now, but if the hound is able to make another attack successfully, consider his throat gone))
Reach the bandit camp.Gweg hurries along until he predicts he is about 1 mile away, and begins to sneak toward the camp. In the distance approximately 1500 feet away he spots the camp just as the sun begins to set.
Stealthily.
Falvich will draw his blades, and ask one final time: "Do I gut you here, or do you leave immediately? The choice is yours."Falvich draws his blades but the mage is no longer listening to what he is saying, [5 vs. 6] the mage flings a bolt of lightning at Falvich, but he artfully dodges out of the way.
"Sounds good! When do we leave?"Derm sets off with the caravan at sunset. ((Because some of these turns will basically be filler to keep all of the players' times relatively in sync, talking will be a turn for you. Is that okay?)) One of the other guards draws near him and asks, "So, where do you hail from friend?"
Travel time!
Have Hans touch and hold each object on the table in turn for a few moments to check to for physical traps, then sweep for hostile magics myself. Once satisfied, have Hans open the scroll before handing it to me to read.Hans touches all of the objects on the table, [4] nothing seems to occur, so he grabs the scroll and opens it. Several moments later, he hands it to Atla to read. The writing is in some language you do not understand. Several arcane, but unrecognizable symbols seem to twist and writhe on the parchment.
"Greetings, bearded sir! Might i trouble you to remove that hood so i can see your face?"[1] "No."
"Oh, I come from a far away place called Tamriel. Very large continent surrounded by ocean, divided into, say, nine countries. I used to live in Skyrim, snowy country in the north, underground in the city of Blackreach! The capital of the Dwemer in that particular area. We had an artificial sun powered by a dragon, did you know?""That sounds quite impressive! What is this Tamriel or Skyrim you speak of, I've never heard of it?"
Try my best to translate the scroll, then stow it and all the baubles on the table in my inventory and move on to the next tent. Same tactics.Atla examines the scroll, he's never seen this kind of writing before and places the trinkets into his Jewels/Gems/Gold compartment. Atla then heads to the next tent, [3] The tent appears to be deserted. Only the final, and largest tent remains unchecked.
Continue trying to disable the dog.[5] Juba escapes the hell hound's grip and [4+3=7 vs. 3+2=5] [6+2=8 vs. 2] whaps it on the side of the head with the flat of his blade, the hell hound is knocked to the ground unconscious.
(( Well I'm dead next turn, this hound never rolls below a bloody 4 on it's dodges so I can't even touch the bloody thing it's luck for evasions is insane. ))
Falvich will now gut the Mage like the pig he is.Falvich [5] leaps over the counter and thrusts his daggers at the mage [2+2+1=5 vs. 4] [1+1+1=3 vs. 2] the daggers slices into the mage's belly but doesn't go deep enough to do anything vital. [4] The mage conjures up another lightning bolt and [4 vs. 1] shoves his hands against Falvich's chest [3 vs. 6] The blast dissipates before doing any damage.
"Truth be told, I expected that to be the case. Who did he steal them from, pray tell?Groz casts a lie detection spell and asks, "Truth be told, I expected that to be the case. Who did he steal them from, pray tell?"
Cast a lie-detection spell while we're talking.
Camp out. Don't light a fire. Prepare to ambush the bandits at night.Gweg settles down, gathering his equipment and waiting for night to come.
"These dogs don't deserve honor."
Tear long strips from my clothing and use the remnants of the rope used to bind it legs and mouth so tightly and securely it can not get free, then carry it while I head in a straight line towards the sun searching for a town or a source of food and water, attempt to use my magic to calm myself as I go, don't forget to collect my neck armor and put it back in place.[5] Juba binds the hell hound and heads towards the sun [2] Finding nothing, he does find himself on a long stretch of plains.
(( Sorry I'll be more specific with my moves from now on and also, YES IT'S ABOUT DAMNED TIME i GOT THE LUCKY ROLL NOT THE DAMNED DOG. ))
"Ah! Skyrim is a country in Tamriel, which is a continent located on the planet Nirn, in the plane of Mundus. There are quite a lot of intelligent races, including the Khajiit and Argonians, cats and lizards that walk like men. I rather suspect that, seeing as I've never heard of Harraspor, this means that I'm on a different, unknown continent. Or planet. Or plane of existence. You wouldn't happen to be lorded over by a Daedra, would you? Usually a big black and red spikey fellow, tends to be inscrutable and more or less chaotic evil?""Eh... no... anyway... we should reach Harraspor in a few more hours" ((3-5 turns unless interrupted))
Falvich will slash the Mage's throats with both daggers.[1+2+1=4 vs. 5] Falvich slashes at the mage's throat, but he ducks out of the way. "Who are you!" the mage thunders as he hurls another lightning bolt [6 vs. 5] [4 vs. 1+1=2] ((By the way, if you weren't aware, unenchanted armor can't protect against magic)) the bolt slams against Falvich's torso, he shakes around for a couple seconds [6 vs. 2] but recovers quickly and slashes at the mage's throat once more, [6+2+1=9 vs. 2] [6+1+1=8 vs. 2] The blades cut into the mage's throat and he collapses to the ground with a near silent gurgle. [2] The mage makes a symbol with his hand but nothing happens.
Wait a little longer, then incapacitate the sentries.Gweg waits a few more minutes before heading off toward the closest sentry [6 vs. 2-2=0] He quickly grabs the bandit around the neck and chokes him out before swiftly moving on to the next. [2 vs. 1-2=-1] and does the same. He approaches the last sentry [6 vs. 1] and chokes him out as well. The sentries have all been non-lethally eliminated.
Lethally, if needed.
Follow the man.Groz follows the hooded man, and finally realizes he is a dwarf now that he is stood, and is of a similar height to himself. He exits the barracks and begins down the street toward the merchant's stall.
Have Hans wait at the door for my signal. Cut a small hole in the side of the tent and peek inside.Atla moves as stealthily as a hunk of metal can and cuts a small hole in the side of the tent with his spear. Peeking inside, he sees it's occupied by approximately 20 men, all standing around a large table, he hears a few bits of conversation usually relating to what is to be done about their crushing defeat, this is probably related to the battlefield.
Continue walking and looking for a town or some source of food or water, attempt to use my magic to relax my body and calm my mind a little.[5] Juba eventually stumbles upon a small stream. [3] Juba is able to think a little more clearly! ((Not sure what ingame effect, relaxing the body/mind would have))
(( Gotta develop this magic, being able to put people to sleep or influence them by messing with emotions will be invaluable later. ))
Falvich will now LOOT THE STORE! ELVES. NEED. LOOT.Falvich checks the room he is currently in, and as mentioned previously, it's full of scrolls... and some inkwells, and quills. Nothing much more advanced than that. So he takes a few and puts them in his pack. [5] But, he does discover a trapdoor behind the shop's counter. The mage makes some gurgling sounds...
Good thing I can enchant stuff! I gotta use my magic more often, huh.
Address the merchant. The merchant turns and jumps in fright as he sees the hooded dwarf, "He is a liar! He has no evidence against me!"
"Ho there, friend! Turns out my fellow dwarf had a rather different tale to tell. Are you a crook, perchance? I'm a bit interested in finding the loot now."
See how well they are armed. How many generals and officers present? How is the room furnished? They all appear to be generals/captains/officers, all of them at least higher ranked than your ordinary soldier. [3] Atla isn't able to identify precisely how well equipped they are, but judging by their rank, probably pretty well equipped. [3] All of the soldiers are standing around a large table but he can't quite tell what it is they are looking at. He also spots 4 guards at the entrance of the tent waiting on the inside.
That went well. Let's see if the rest does.Gweg sneaks into the camp. [4 vs. 6] But three bandits surrounding a small campfire spot him and stand as quickly as they can, drawing their weapons, one of them seems to be intoxicated, but none of them look to be well enough equipped to be the leader.
Sneak into camp. Try to find the bandit leader. Kill him/her.
*Blink slowly*Derm and the caravan continue, but, Derm feels something is watching them.
Uh... keep going?
Fix this accursed wound on my neck,[4] The mage manages to stem the bleeding slightly. But he's still bleeding alot.
Take a drink then focus my mind on the hound and work to make it as calm as possible so it won't attack when it wakes up, double check it's binding's and make sure they are secure.Juba takes a drink and attempts to calm the hound then double checks it's bindings. [4] They seem to be secure enough.
"Mmm well, that's nice, I suppose. I've got a hunch somethings going to happen soon. Always does, always will. Narrative causality at work, you see. Upshot, we're probably going to be attacked in some arbitrarily small amount of time."Derm unholsters his harquebus and makes sure it is fit for use, before standing by and waiting for the supposed enemy to attack. Suddenly 9 figures on horseback appear over the horizon to his left. They look to be approximately 900 feet away.
Unholster harquebus, hold at relaxed standby.
Attack and kill the three bandits.((You can't really kill them silently seeing as they have already spotted you. Unless you mean silently to anyone who hasn't seen you yet.)) [6+1=7 vs. 1] [1+1+2=4 vs. 1+1=2] Gweg slashes open the first bandit's stomach and he stumbles to the ground beside him. [1+1=2 vs. 5] [5 vs. 1+1+1=3] The next bandit nicks Gweg's shield arm, but he continues his assault and [5 vs. 1] [6 vs. 5+1=6] blocks the second bandit's attack with his shield [4+1=5 vs. 2] [4+1+2=7 vs. 2] before impaling him through the stomach. The last bandit begins to [6-1=5] run [1-1=0] wailing like an idiot.
Quietly if possible.
Remember my traits, please!
Falvich will sigh, and then slit the mage from ear to ear.See Mage's Turn.
"Well, he has his face. Anyhow, would you care to tell me what happened between you two?"The merchant exclaims, "He seized my wares! Just as I told you!" The hooded dwarf stares him down, "He stole it and I'm trying to find out where he got it!" Groz detects nothing from either of them.
Cast lie detector spell on both of them to determine who's telling the truth.
((How many have I missed?))((It's a secret :P)) Atla seems to have entered mid conversation and hears one of the men around the table exclaim, "We have failed repeatedly but you," he says pointing toward another, "Keep sending us to die against an unstoppable enemy!" The man defends himself, "Well maybe if our captains' were more competent!" The first speaker storms out of the tent.
Listen in on their plans.
Fix this accursed wound on my neck and defended myself!Falvich sighs and walks toward the mage, he hurriedly waves his hand around [6] and his throat begins to close. Mage frantically stumbles to his feet but is barely able to keep his balance [2-1=1 vs. 5] and flings a spell past Falvich. Falvich lunges forward [3+2+1=6 vs. 5-1=4] [5+1+1=7 vs. 3] and slices the mage's face open diagonally and he collapses to the ground writhing and twitching in his death throes.
"Right, well that's them I suppose. I'll just start firing unless anyone has any objections?"Derm lines up his Harquebus with the nearest horseman and fires, [2+1=3 vs. 2] [3+2=5 vs. 1+1=2] The blast knocks hims from his horse, but he is able to stand and continue the charge albeit at a slightly slower pace, one of the other bodyguards nocks an arrow and fires at one of the men still on horseback [6+1=7 vs. 5+1=6] [6+1=7 vs. 2+1=3] The arrow lodges in his chest but he tears the arrow out and continues riding. The two other bodyguards, one armed with a sword and shield, the other with a long spear take up positions nearby the caravan itself. The horsemen are closing fast, they are approximately 500 yards away.
Weapons free!
Falvich will now loot the mage's shop of everything worthwhile. If there's something that will stabilize/let the mage live until help arrives, apply it to him, otherwise leave him to die.Falvich [2+1=3] grabs some more random scrolls and finds nothing else. The mage, quietly coughs, choking on his blood as it pours from his mouth and stops breathing.
I...I didn't want Falvich to be a cold-blooded killer. What have I done? I shouldn't have been reading that horror-mystery...Good book though, was based from the killer's view, not the detectives. And no cheesy romance!
Follow the river looking for a town of some sort.Juba follows the river and eventually comes across a lake amidst a small forest.
"Dragonshit."[4 vs. 5-1=4] Gweg reaches the bandit at what looks to be the entrance of a cave and [1+1=2 vs. 6-1-2=3] buries his greatsword in the dirt just behind the bandit who quickly sprints away into the darkness. No one else seems to be outside the cave though.
Kill the last bandit as quickly as possible, then be quiet and figure out if anyone has awoken.
"Ladies, please. Stop arguing and let the mage think."Many different people! I wrote out my own scrolls, purchased hides from various hunters, purchased food from local farmers, that sort of thing." You sense he is lying.
... Aha!
Merchantman! I have decided through logic that you aren't telling me something. Where did you get those wares and how did you get them?"
Cast yet another lie-detection spell.
Let Hans KO that man as he leaves and drag him off a ways before finishing him by pulling his armour off and ripping his heart out/punching him in the chest with his clubs until he dies. Put his armour back on to cover the wound as best as possible and then reanimate him.[5 vs. 2] Hans sneaks up behind the man successfully and clubs him on the head [6+3=9 vs. 4-2=2] The man's head shatters into millions of pieces and he collapses to the ground. No one inside the tent seems to have heard though.
"WRONG ANSWER![3] The merchant winces slightly but repeats again, "I already told you!" You sense he is lying.
Groz telekenetically bitchslaps the merchant - it won't hurt him, but it will sting like hell.
"Now where did you get the merchandise? No lies."
Just have a lie detection spell on until indicated otherwise.
"There's more bandits to slay."Gweg returns to the campfire. He sees nothing unusual, besides the two bandits' corpses.
Head back to camp. Stop if activity is sensed.
Falvich will grumble, and head to the secret cellar area or what-not, and loot it!Falvich heads over to the cellar's entrance and reaches for the iron ring, a ball of flame shoots at him from behind [4 vs. 2] but he yanks open the cellar and dives in just as the fireball sails by. He falls several feet before landing face down on a cold stone floor, he pulls himself up but it's too dark to see anything.
'All around the trading post, the dwemer chased the bandit, the dwemer thought t'was all in fun, Pop goes the bandit!"[5+1=6 vs. 3+1=4] [1+2=3 vs. 2+1=3] Derm fires at the nearest horseman. And merely knocks him off balance, but he quickly fires again, [4+1=5 vs. 3+1=4] [4+2=6 vs. 3+1=4] The second shot hits his head, knocking off his hat and shatters one of his eardrums. The archer nocks and fires an arrow as well [4+1=5 vs. 3+1=4] [5+1=6 vs. 2+1=3] which thunks into his stomach. He fires another at a different horseman [4+1=5 vs. 4+1=5] [3+1=4 vs. 2+1=3] which lodges in his stomach as well, albeit not very deep. The horsemen are nearly upon the caravan.
Tell Hans to drag him away somewhere out of sight and take up his position again once he's finished. Keep listening and watching all the while.Hans drags him off while Atla continues to listen. "How do you think we can best such an army? They aren't even people for Andraste's sake! They are created in some hell pit by Vemalaaz, armed with unnatural weapons and the thickest armor in the world! They cannot be beaten!" Another captain pipes up, "What about the Dwarves of Akasha, surely they've thought of something by now?" "Perhaps, but if they have, how do we contact them?"
Search around the lake, look for any kind of road leading to a town or village.[4] Juba searches in the vicinity of the lake, eventually he finds a road leading south. The cobble seems to have been covered by many booted feet and is in quite terrible condition.
((Holy posting, Batman!))The horrified look on the merchant's face swiftly leaves as he starts talking as fast as he can, "I got it from a smuggler who comes to the city every week he told me no one could find out but, clearly that didn't work! That's all I know, please let me go! I'm just a poor merchant who needed some extra income!"
"Now, now, I didn't know we were allowed to threaten the lives of the sheep. If so, this will make it much more interesting. Groz turns to address the merchant.
But you should probably do as he says. If you don't, he'll probably cut your throat from the look of it, and I won't do much; just turn your blood to acid so it corrodes you from the inside out and you die lying facedown in a pool of your own acidic blood, sreaming as my friend here holds your face down into the blood and your flesh is stripped away and you die in horrible agony. Then I'll raise your corpse and use it as a toilet for a year, then practice my combat spells on it. Then I'll probably contact a god, say you blasphemed, and send you into eternal torment.
Or you could just tell us where you got the merchandise."
Groz smiles pleasantly.
"Your choice."
Falvich will cast a minor light enchantment on one of his daggers. Temporary, of course; - Just to make it glow, to lighten the room.[4] Falvich manages to light up one of his daggers. (It should last 3-4 turns) Lighting up the room, he looks around, on one side of the room lies a row of bookshelves. on the opposite, more bookshelves, to his right, a long table and to his left is a peculiar stone wall he can't place what makes it odd though.
Summon as many earth golems as I can/the largest earth golem I can within the tent from the ground beneath their feet. Once that has been done, collapse the tent on them and bash and stab it with Hans until everything beneath it stops moving.[3] Atla summons the largest earth golem he can under the table, it quickly grows in size and the table breaks as the surrounding men stumble backward to avoid it's growth. [5] Atla then hurries to each corner of the tent slashing the ropes keeping it in place. The tent collapses. and Atla and Hans jump on top of the tent [1] seeing as the tent is still moving wildly due to whatever is happening down there Atla and Hans slip and fall, but they each here something crack underneath them. 2 soldiers wriggle free and run off into the night.
Fire until they come right up to us, then flip the gun backwards and whack one right off their horse.Derm fires [3+1=4 vs. 6+1=7] But the shot flies past his target's left shoulder before quickly dissipating. The archer runs off to reach a high point, the man with the spear braces it on the ground in the path of one of the enemy horsemen. The swordsman prepares to swing for the nearest passing horseman. Derm flips his Harquebus and swings it for the nearest horseman [6 vs. 4+1=5] [4 vs. 2] The horseman falls back and Derm puts his Harquebus against the fallen horseman's head and takes a shot. [3+3=6 vs. 6-3=3] His head explodes in a gory mess of brain matter and blood. One of the archers fires an arrow aiming at an enemy's head [1+1=2 vs. 3+1=4] Though the arrow misses. The braced spearman's spear shatters as it impales the horseman in the chest, he flies backward with a wail as he lands on the ground. The swordsman swings for the nearest horseman [5+1=6 vs. 2+1=3] [5+2=7 vs. 5+1=6] The blow does indeed knock him off his horse. So the swordsman lunges forward and stabs him through the chest. ((By the way, unimportant characters' deaths are not added to the casualties section on the bottom of the post.))
Then fire again while he's down.
Follow the road in to town, keep checking to make sure demon Fido is still out cold.Juba follows the road for a few hours but fails to spot any signs of a town. The hellhound is twitching a little bit.
Sneak into a tent.Gweg sneaks into the first tent out of two and [5] slashes the bandits' throat. He exits and heads into the other [1] Gweg somehow manages to bury his sword in the ground beside the bandit who quickly stands and unsheathes his sword.
Kill whoever is inside.
Repeat until discovered.
"You fellows aren't very good at this, are you?"[6+1=7 vs. 4+1=5] [6+2=8 vs. 2+1=3] Derm fires and hits the horseman with an arrow in his chest. The man falls from his horse unmoving. The [2] horseman pinned behind him flails and fails to do anything as Derm lines up a shot and fires [1+1+3=5 vs. 3-3=0] blowing his head apart. The spearman unsheathes his short sword and runs up the hill to assist the archer. As he does so, another horseman rides up on him. The spearman turns and stabs at him with his shortsword [1 vs. 5+1=6] but the horseman rides right by towards the archer, but is stopped when he looses an arrow at the horseman's head, [6+1=7 vs. 1+1=2] [5+1+1=7 vs. 1+1=2] the arrow pierces the horseman's skull and he slumps against his horse. The swordsman lashes out at a passing horseman [5+1=6 vs. 5+1=6] [4+1=5 vs. 4+1=5] the blade nicks his horse but nothing more. The man with a fractured leg moves toward the caravan as fast as possible but stumbles and falls to the ground. The other horseman charging at the archer swings at him [4 vs. 2] [4+2+1=7 vs. 3] and lops off his arm.
There aren't actually very many ways to spice up the action of 'Keep shooting till shits dead'.
Falvich will loot the bookshelves! There must be magical tomes there, to learn more magic from!Falvich hurries over to the bookshelves and grabs the first book he sees, [6] suddenly the bookshelf swings around bringing Falvich with it and he finds himself in a different room. It is lit in the center by a hovering crystal, the walls, lined with thousands of different books of many various shapes, colors, and sizes. In one corner of the room is a small wooden chair with another book atop it.
((Go ahead.))Gweg yanks on the sword [4] and it pops out and he immediately swings the sword around [6+1=7 vs. 2] [6+2=8 vs. 3-1=2] shearing his head from his shoulders.
Try to remove sword. Kill the bandit with whatever is in my hand(s) at that point. If nothing's in my hands, grab the bandit and kill him with that. Or punch him, something lethal.
"Name? Location he arrives? Any soldiers with him? Info. Now.""He, uh.... he should be here tonight. I don't know about any guards. If they're there I've never seen any. He usually waits behind the Golden Fig Tavern." Groz turns to the hooded dwarf, and asks "I've decided to help you a while longer, friend. We'll find this smuggler, perhaps take care of him, and then perhaps you could take me to the lord of the city as a favor?" the dwarf grunts and turns around heading down the street.
Turn to guard.
"I've decided to help you a while longer, friend. We'll find this smuggler, perhaps take care of him, and then perhaps you could take me to the lord of the city as a favor?"
(( Wow my luck sucks at finding towns....[6-1=5] Juba believes he has put the dog to sleep and continues along the river looking for signs of civilization. Eventually, the road begins heading up a large mountain. On one side of the path he can see a small hole in the rock.
I'm good with more players. ))
Use magic to put the dog fully to sleep again, continue following river to find a town.
((I'm fine with more players.))6 guards wriggle free as Atla slaughters 6 more. There seem to be approximately ten figures left. Hans runs off to chase the eight fleeing men. He manages to catch two of them and bash their skulls in but the rest make it away. So Hans returns to Atla.
Finish off anyone who is still alive under the tent. Tell Hans to see if he can track down those soldiers before they get too far, and to come back if he can't catch up to and kill them within a mile or two.
Sneak into a tent.
Kill whoever is inside.
Repeat until discovered.
((There were only two tents, the first was empty and you just killed the occupant of the second))
"Hah!"Derm fires a shot at another horseman [5+1=6 vs. 6+1=7] but it flies past him as the rider turns his horse to Derm who is all alone beside the caravan. The swordsman and spearman on the hill [6+1=7 vs. 1+1=2] [5+1=6 vs. 2+1=3] [4+1=5 vs. 3+1=4] [6+1=7 vs. 1+1=2] slaughter the horseman and hurry over to try to treat the wounded archer. The horseman riding towards Derm swings for his head as he passes by but misses as Derm spins and fires again [5+1=6 vs. 2+1=3] [4+2=6 vs. 3+1=4] The shot connects with his back and he falls off his horse coughing up blood as his impact drives the arrow further into his chest.
Finish them!
Falvich will check the book on the desk, and then proceed to examine the shelves...Hopefully these tomes will be in order!Falvich checks the book, he grabs it and flips through the pages, the writing is illegible so he sets it down and checks out the bookshelves. They both extend upwards a few hundred feet. You see no way they could possibly fit so low underground. You surmise it to be an enchantment of some kind and examine a few of the books. It seems they are all lined up at random and many seem to be in long forgotten languages.
Tell Hans to help me slaughter the remaining soldiers in the tent.Atla and Hans continue to pummel the sheet until it stops moving. No one else seems to have escaped.
Xarius stands up. Wait, where's Chuckles? Xarius tries to summon his familiar. If he has time after that, look around.Xarius conjures up Chuckles and places him on his shoulder while examining the room. He is in a small room measuring about 24x24x24. There is a man, no doubt another prisoner sleeping in the corner. There is a set of steel bars that leads into a dim hallway to one side. The rest of the room is bordered with stone.
((I kind of forgot this bit during the backstory. Chuckles is a rabbit of about 3:4 in size compared to a basic rabbit, so six inches long, two wide, four tall not counting ears. His form is constant but the edges seem to flicker. His entire body is midnight black, but his eyes are a pale pink. He has as much impact on events as a cheerleader has on the score of a sports game. Basically all he does is sit on Xarius's shoulder, it's sentimental value. Your first time torturing someone to madness then trapping their soul in a physical form and bending it to your will was a memory Xarius wanted to cherish.))
"Best get going then; I'm late!"Groz hurries off in the direction of "Hood" when he reaches the alleyway, he scurries off into a corner, but the hooded dwarf is nowhere to be seen.
Turns to the merchant.
"Oh, and if you happen to come across any other useful bits of information, bring them to me. I suspect if you turn to smuggling again my hooded friend here will kill you. Good day."
Groz and Hood will go wait in ambush positions behind the tavern what the merchant named.
Attempt to kill the deer. Skin and butcher it, then observe my surroundings with my eyes and ears.Calenmiriel nocks, then looses an arrow [3+1+1=5] [5+1=6] it's flies straight and true and pierces the deer's head. She hurries over and [6] manages to skin and butcher the corpse without causing any additional damage. She looks around and listens but notices nothing besides the rustling of the trees and the serenity of the forest.
Sit down, check the dogs bindings are secure then using strips of clothing bind all 4 legs together and lay the dog on it's back. Once done wake up the dog then attempt to use magic to influence it's mind and make it loyal to me.Juba takes a seat and checks it's bindings just as he touches them [1] they crumble into nothing, [5] but the dog is still unconcious. [6] Juba quickly and efficiently rips apart his torn clothing and binds the dogs legs and lays it on it's back. Once he finishes he shakes the dog around a bit [2] but it doesn't wake up.
Oh.Just as Gweg heads over to the first tent [1] he hears a cry as 9 more bandits come sprinting out of the cave from before.
Loot the oddly small camp. Cut off the bandits' heads to prove I killed them.
Wait until the smuggler gets there, then break his limbs with magic and nicely ask him where he keeps his stash of items.Eventually, [5] Groz hears someone walking through the alley. As he prepares to cast the spell [5] a figure flies off of the roof and lands on him before standing, there is a corpse lying there with an axe lodged in his head.
Continue to try wake the dog, once it is awake attempt to tame it, use magic to assist by influencing the dogs mind and making it loyal to me.[5] Juba wakes the hellhound and attempts to tame it, trying to use magic to influence it's mind. [4-1-1=2] Due to the fact he has nearly no practice in using his magic on other creatures, and the fact he has no experience with animal training, Juba fails to tame the hellhound. He learns a tiny bit more about it though.
[4] Calenmiriel pulls the arrow out of the deer, and takes as much meat and hide as she can. It had no antlers so she heads off to the east.
Collect the arrow from the body, the meat and hide, as well as the antlers if it had any and put it away. Look for the clearest path through the woods and follow it, keeping to the shadows cast by the moon.
Kill ALL the bandits! [Meme Image][5+1=6 vs. 6-2=4] [5+2=7 vs. 2+1=3] Derm fires a shot at the man limping towards him, the force applied to his face manages to knock him backwards 5 feet. He seems to no longer be moving so Derm sights in on the final horseman still lying on the ground coughing up blood. Just as he is about to fire, the bandit shutters and stops moving altogether.
"Oh, boy..."[5] Gweg runs backward before turning:
Kill bandits. Start by running backwards so they get separated, the fastest in front and the slowest in back. Then kill the fastest before the second-fastest can catch up, and so on until I've killed all nine or my plan implodes.
Cautiously remove the sheet and see what lies under. Grab everything of value and gtfo.
((PM:)) I meant grab as much non-equipment loot as was available to stuff into my "pockets". While I'm at it I'll gather the weapons into a pile to see what we can use.Atla [2] goes through the corpses quickly and grabs as much as he can, he's in a hurry though so he doesn't examine every item closely. He gather the (unbroken) weapons into a pile and sees if there would be anything of use. [3] Most of it seems to be standard soldier tier weapons nothing really better than what he and Hans has at the moment.
Falvich will look for two things: Something to read any language, such as magical glasses or what-not, and/or any books written in English or Elvish.[2] Falvich fails to find something that probably doesn't exist. [5] And looks through the first few shelves, he finds a few but the majority are all written in languages unrecognizable to anyone than a scholar or highly experienced mage.
Xarius will try to check the other prisoner's pulse, trying not to wake him/her. If alive, try to kill him. If dead, resurrect. With the resurrection having more focus on looking normal rather than on power or longevity.Xarius lightly probes for the prisoner's pulse [4+1=5 vs. 5] but his head rolls away before Xarius can check and the other prisoner starts to groan. Seizing his opportunity Xarius attempts to break his neck [3-1=2 vs. 5] But he only turns his head a little, he is staring right into Xarius' eyes and asks, "What are you doing?"
Attack the bandit in front of me![1+1=2 vs. 2] [2+2+1=5 vs. 3] Gweg swings at the bandit with his greatsword and slices his chest. The bandit howls in rage and swings a shortsword [2 vs. 2+1=3] but misses. Gweg swings again [3+1=4 vs. 3] [3+2+1=6 vs. 4] and slashes him across the chest. This time though, he backs away clutching his chest as blood pours down. [4 vs. 5+1=6] [4 vs. 4+1=5] The next two bandits in line swing but Gweg blocks both with his shield.
Cut off his head if possible; slash across the chest if not.
Move through the woods as quickly as possible, keep an eye and ear out for people, roads, towns, camps etc.[5] Calenmiriel hurries through the woods while keeping low as to remain stealthy. Eventually, she comes across a road, perpendicular to the direction she had gone.
Cast a shield that will absorb the kenetic energy of any projectile that contacts it, effectively stopping it, before calling out to the figure from the shadows, using magic to cast my voice so it comes from the shadows opposite me.[1-1=0] Groz fails to conjure even a sliver of the shield, and attempts to displace his voice as he calls out [2-1=1] His voice comes from the shadow beside him. The figure pulls a lantern off his belt and quickly lights it before checking the shadows. [6 vs. 1] He spots Groz and he realizes it was the hooded dwarf. "It was me, troll-dung. Who else!"
"Nice work there. Who might you be?"
GTFO.[6] Atla successfully gets the **** out, running away from the camp.
Draw my sword and keep it ready, attempt to tame the hell hound again, first naturally then if that fails with magic.Juba draws his sword, [3-1=2] [3-1-1=1] and fails to tame the hellhound by natural and magical means.
"What's all the fuss about, then?" Investigate!Derm hurries over to where the archer is lying, his arm is sitting on the ground amidst a large pool of blood. The archer seems to have gone into shock by now and the other two guards are attempting to staunch the bleeding. [1-2=-1] [5-2=3] one of them tears off his cloth tunic's sleeve and wraps it around the archers bicep [4] he ties it as tight as he can and the blood flow slows slightly. The merchant hops out of the caravan and hurries up the hill.
Falvich will search for some sort of list, magical or not, detailing what books are kept well! Er, did I say search? I MEANT LOOT, OBVIOUSLY!In a cabinet beside the chair [2+1=3] Falvich manages to find a list, detailing a few books, these notes seem to have been written by the mage Falvich killed.
'Blast! This would have been so much easier if he had just been dead....'[2] You chat for a while with the other prisoner but no opportunities arise. He tells you that you are in the prison in a town called Ferovale, it is ruled by Earl Roland, a vassal of King Kemar.
((Apostrophes meaning internal monologue if accompanied, and muttering if alone.))
"Oh! I was just checking for lice. I'm a doctor, you see. Just woke up. Where am I, exactly?"
((Purple meaning lie.))
Keep up conversation until an opportunity presents itself, then try to drain his strength. Slowly, of course. Imperceptibly, if possible.
"I would've thought we were supposed to interrogate the fecker, but I suppose what's done is done. Remember, I get first pick of his valuables."[1] Groz checks the smugglers pockets and doesn't find anything useful. He checks the cart [1] and it turns out to be empty. The hooded dwarf checks as well, "A decoy," he mutters. "The smuggler is going to find a different location once he doesn't return," he puts his boot against the corpse and wrenches his axe from the "smuggler's" skull. "And why should I take you to the Earl, when you haven't done anything useful at this point?"
Search the smuggler and anything he had that could've contained loot. Can't remember if he arrived in a cart, but if so, search that too.
"Also, I'd be much obliged if you could lead me to the lord of the city once we're done here."
(Can you update my location, GM?)
Look up and down the road for anything notable and if I notice something head towards it, off the side of the road in the woods, be sneaky. If I don't see anything, look carefully at the road and look for footprints or wheel tracks, head in the direction that the most recent prints or tracks are heading.[5] Calenmiriel looks up and down the road and notices a wagons tracks, so she heads off in that direction.
Continue trying.[4-1=3] [4-1=3] Juba fails to tame the hellhound again.
Keep waiting for an opportunity. If nothing else, try to burn out his organs, I need the exterior intact.Eventually [4] he spots something of an opportunity and [2] Xarius slowly begins to drain his strength. The other prisoner looks around and yawns.
'It would be oh so convenient if he were to take a piss in the corner about now..... A pox on luck.'
Keep killing bandits.[3+1=4 vs. 5] Gweg swings at the bandit to his right but misses as the bandit to his left seizes the opportunity. [4 vs. 4+1=5] But Gweg is able to duck out of the way and counter attacks [2+1=3 vs. 2] [1+1+2=4 vs. 6] But the attack was too slow and merely sliced a bit of fabric off of the bandits tunic. The Bandit attacks [3 vs. 3+1=4] But Gweg avoids the attack as two more bandits step in front of him
"Push off, let me look at it."[5] Derm shoves the other guards out of the way. [6+1+1=8] He manages to pull all the bandit's weapons into his arms and creates an arcane chainsaw using Magitechnology. And holds it up.
I'm a doctor! *Holds up chainsaw*
Look around.Atla spots what looks to be a town in the distance.
Falvich will hunt down and read the "On the Recent Notables of the Territories"![1] Falvich spots the author's name and grabs the book without checking the title, upon opening the book it appears he accidently grabbed The Sex Life of The Cockatrice Falvich is scarred for life.
Falvich, now scarred will go back upstairs and loot the mage's body!Falvich finds his way upstairs and checks the mage's corpse for anything that may be of use. [3+1=4] He finds a note and a small sack inside the robe, as well as a few vials of colorful liquids. The sack is sealed shut but there is nothing to keep it closed, perhaps it is an enchantment.
Continue taming.[4-1=3] [1-1=0] ((You're getting very unlucky)) Juba fails to tame the hellhound again.
Practice chainsaw based medicine[6] He lowers the Arcane Chainsaw and......... ??? shears a long strip of cloth off of the archers tunic and covers the wound? I guess?
'This is getting me nowhere!'Xarius, unable to find any blunt object pulls at one of the legs of the bed [1] Pulling as hard as he can, his hands slip and he falls backward hitting his head on the stone floor. The other prisoner stares at him, quite clearly confused.
Try to find a blunt object. If that fails, pry one of the legs off the bed. Proceed to animate it. If that fails, simply beat him over the head with it.
((Well, it's do or die. If I fail those actions, it's a slow death byrapestrangulation for Xarius.))
Follow the tracks quickly until I sight it on the horizon, if I reach it within this turn, check my back to make certain nobody is watching before enter the woods to approach and scout the wagon and its accompaniments.[6] Eventually Calenmiriel enters a desert, she can barely see the wagon on the horizon but it's there. She gets closer and the wagon seems to have stopped moving, suddenly a riderless horse comes racing towards her.
Approach it. Once I reach the outskirts, leave Atla behind and bury him in a shallow hole for safekeeping (unless golems are a common sight in this world, in which case i'll bring him along).[4] Atla approaches the town, which seems to not be hostile at the moment, and buries Hans relatively nearby beside a signpost.
Retreat some again, trying to separate them again.[4] Gweg turns and runs off, he checks behind him:
"Very well, my testosteronized friend. Let's go, shall we?"The dwarf walks over to the smuggler's corpse and grabs the cloak, pulling it over his shoulders before heading off with the cart. Groz follows from behind.
Proceed with plan.
"Right, that worked. Lets go!"The other guards pick up the archer and place him inside the caravan. The merchant returns to the front of the covered wagon and reins in the horses as they set off on their merry way once more. As they travel a while longer, a town appears in the distance.
Onwards!
Meditate to focus my mind and increase my control over my powers temporarily then tame the hell hound...... again.[6] Juba sits and focuses, feeling more capable in general in his magic abilities, ((Level Up)) feeling newly invigorated Juba attempts to tame the hellhound, [1] and the hound begins to growl under it's breath. ((Well that was anticlimactic))
.......Xarius stands and calls out to a guard, [6] almost immediately, a guard with his helmet covering his eyes bumbles around the corner and knocks his head on the wall before mumbling, "Wha- What is it?"
Whatever is necessary. Whatever is within my power. Leave this painfully lucky creature alone. Call for a guard.
Falvich will leave, and explore the city for fun.Falvich exits the mages shop and explores the city, walking along the streets, [1] when suddenly, the grate he stepped on collapses [5] Falvich is able to catch himself though and is now hanging an unidentified distance above something...
((Just had to try this)Calenmiriel [4-1=3] is able to mount the horse, omitting any spectacular moves and struggles to gain control [4-1=3] she struggles to gain control but the horse suddenly bucks, [6 vs. 1] though she is able to hold on.
Attempt to mount the horse Legolas style, and then gain control.
Continue to the gates. Be wary of guards, and try to be as inconspicuous as possible until you can duck into a public shop.Atla heads over to the gates [3] when one of the guards calls down from the battlements, "What in god's name are you?"
Attack bandit in front. Whichever is easier to hit.[2+1=3 vs. 5] Gweg swings his greatsword at the first bandit but he ducks and stabs at Gweg's chest [5 vs. 3+1=4] [4 vs. 6+1+1=8] but Gweg deflects the shortsword with his shield [3+1=4 vs. 4-2=2] [5+1=6 vs. 5-2=3] seeing the opportunity of the bandit bent over beneath him, Gweg strikes him on the back of the neck with his shield and he flops to the ground. [2 vs. 3+1=4] The other bandit swings but Gweg merely steps out of the way.
...Continue with plan, I guess? Ready some magic shields to stop arrows and weapons around me.Groz prepares a few [3] relatively weak magic wards, probably enough to stop 2 or 3 weak blows. Eventually Groz stops outside a large five-story building, moves the cart into the alley beside it and heads inside. [5] Groz notices a ladder in the same alleyway the cart is in.
'Much better! This moron seems impressionable.'[6] Xarius speaks with the weak minded guard for some time and learns that he was forcibly conscripted and when the minotaur sympathizes, the guards asks if he can help Xarius in any way.
Charm the guard, if I can't do that. Just kill him with a bolt of dark magic to the face. Reanimate his corpse and command it to open the door.
To town.Derm walks along the caravan the rest of the way, upon a sign from the merchant the gates open and the caravan is let into the city.
Falvich will empower one of his Gold Coins with a strong light, and toss it down the hole!Falvich continues grasping for the ledge with one hand as he reaches for his pouch [2-1=1] the exertion on his arm is too much and he slips. Falling further and further for what has seems like several minutes when finally, he crashes into a 5 foot deep pool of water, the impact [1] knocks him unconscious, as well as... other wounds. ((You'll find out what they are if he ends up surviving))
Tame the dog...... again.[4] [2] The dog's breathing becomes rapid and it tries to stand, the hellhound itself becomes scalding hot to touch. ((This wasn't caused by your rolls just so you know))
((Do a better job this time.))Gweg runs back full speed [6] and swings for the nearest bandit [5+1=6 vs. 2] [4+2+1=7 vs. 2] decapitating him.
Run backwards to separate bandits again. Attack any bandits who manage to keep up with me.
For a few minutes, ensure I have the horse under control and calmed, maybe by speaking to the horse gently or stroking the mane. And then observe it, determine whether its male or female, what does it look like ect. Before beginning to ride towards the wagon I saw before.[6] Calenmiriel calms the horse and determines it is a male chestnut arabian, she then grabs the reins and rides towards the wagon. Eventually as she crests a small hill, the wagon is gone, and in it's place is a large city.
"That seems fortuitous."[4] Groz sneaks up the ladder and spots three presumably hostile figures, they are sitting in the middle of the roof trying to start a fire. Unsure of exactly how to kill them stealthily, he strengthens his shields [4] they seems to be about as strong as he can make them as of now. Blocking 3 or 4 ordinary blows.
Go up the ladder, quietly killing any hostiles up there, then go and find a vantage point that can see the hooded dwarf. Attempt to strenghten the shields and keep an eye out for enemies.
Stand still menacingly.[1] Unsure of Atla's intents, the men on the wall head out of sight. Several minutes later they come back with a large siege crossbow they work to crank it and fit the bolt before aiming at Atla's head.
Falvich will, uh...try to realize it is a dream and create infinite loot piles?
Collect earnings!"Of course!" The merchant responds, he hands Derm a sack of 80 coins. He notices the guard he had spoken with on the way here beckoning him over. ((Spaced out and forgot this would effectively be a talking action. Sorry.))
Hit it on the head with the flat of my sword to knock it out again then continue using magic to influence it's hormones to make it loyal to me.[2] The bindings on the hound incinerate from the heat. [6+3=9 vs. 6+2=8] [6+1=7 vs. 4] But Juba is able to stun the hound with a quick knock on the head before it is able to react. Suddenly, [1 vs. 4] An large axe embeds itself in the ground a few feet away. Coming toward him from the direction of the camp he had taken the hellhound from, 10 heavily armored warriors are marching toward him. They look like something similar to this (http://media.giantbomb.com/uploads/1/17166/1249089-2j2eohi.jpg).
'Well, well, well. It appears this country's federal employment requirements are more lax than I expected. Good.'[2+3=5] "Errrr... well I... um.... suppose so." The guard hands Xarius the keys, which he uses to unlock the door. He closes it behind him and tosses the keys to his cellmate. The guard pipes up, "Errrr, can you... um... help me get out of the uh... the city? If... the other guards find... um... that I let you free... they... they would probably kill me."
"Can you give me the keys to this cell? I have a vested interest in freedom."
If given the keys, escape. Close the door behind me and throw the keys to my cellmate. He didn't try to screw me over as badly as I tried to do to him, so I suppose I owe him this much.
If I don't get the keys, kill the guard. Reanimate him, and make my thrall give me the keys.
A large city, in the desert, my favorite......she thinks to herselfCalenmiriel pulls up her hood as she rides toward the city. The area outside the gates there is nothing but the desert. [3] Judging by the guards, they are approximately the size of a human. While there is no stable outside, there may be one within the city walls.
As I ride towards the gates of the city pull up my hood. I'd rather not draw to much attention to myself. Observe whats around outside the gates, specifically determining the race who hold the city or whether or any unusual events of people around, and if there is a stable. After I make my observations Drop off the horse at the stable if there is one.
"Well, outside forces, it's easy! All you have to do is do this:Groz works his magic very effectively [5+1=6] and causes the fire to burn incredibly hot and large, successfully incinerating all of the presumed hostiles.
Groz causes the fire they're trying to start to flare up at temperatures hot enough to turn them all to ash. He then directs the resulting fireball at any who survive, incinerating them instantly.
((+1 to magic rolls, right?))
Attack another bandit!Gweg [5+1=6 vs. 3] [2+2+1=5 vs. 3] slashes open the already wounded bandits chest and he collapses to the ground, writhing in pain. [5+1=6 vs. 2] [2+2+1=5 vs. 1] Gweg quickly decapitates another. Fearing for their lives, the remaining bandits drop to their knees in surrender. When finally, a man armed with a sword & shield, wearing primarily chainmail armor steps out of the cave. "I challenge you to a duel ugly one!" he calls out.
Falvich will, uh...Dream?[1] Falvich, floating facedown, unconscious in the pool of sludge, dreams of rainbows and women. Before finally, the life ebbs from his broken and suffocated body, and he leaves to... a happier place.
ATTACK!Atla charges at the walls intent on scaling them, [1] but slams face first into the wall, causing a large indentation in the stone. At least the guards can't see him anymore...
Behead the hellhound then run for it up the mountain.[6+3=9 vs. 1+2=3] [5+2=7 vs. 2] With a swift stroke of his sword, Juba beheads the hellhound and makes a beeline up towards the mountain. [1 vs. 5-2=3] Despite their slowness the warriors seem to be catching up to Juba.
Accept duel, then kill the bandit before he can prepare himself.Gweg accepts the duel and the bandit leader, known as Noser, raises his sword and shield, [4] Gweg gets a good look at his equipment, and recognizes the shield as Afigi. ((info in the enemies spoiler, also, you didn't get this info before the fight because you failed the "appraisal" check)) [1+1=2 vs. 2+1=3] Gweg is unable to attack before the bandit can prepare himself. The bandit leader approaches slowly, having to close the distance due to his shorter weapon. [2] Gweg fails to act immediately when the bandit comes within range, and the Noser, uses this opportunity to charge forward and attack [4+1+1=6 vs. 4+1=5] His shortsword slips through your defenses [5+1+1=7 vs. 1+1+1=3] and Noser stabs his steel shortsword into Gweg's belly. [2+1=3] Noser clumsily yanks the sword out of Gweg's stomach. Gweg swings his greatsword, noticing his foe's imbalance. [6+1=7 vs. 5+1-1=5] [6+2+1=9 vs. 6+2+1=9] But the bandit leader casually bats the sword away with his shield.
"Now of course those could've been vagrants, but ash is so hard to tell apart. Besides, that's what they get for being near me in a danger zone."Groz spots a potential viewpoint and walks over to it [1] suddenly, the wooden boards beneath him crack and break [4] but Groz manages to catch on to the ledge [1] unfortunately he slips almost immediately, luckily, the drop was only about ten feet. The down side though is he just made a ton of noise. The room he fell into is unoccupied. It's a simple room, just a cabinet and a bed with a closed door behind him.
Groz looks for the aforementioned viewpoint where he can see Hoody and any hostiles near Hoody.
"Hrm, good enough. I can find it later. I will take you up on your offer then!"Derm walks through the streets alongside the man, whom he learns is named Felfen. The city is small compared to most, the walls are stone, and is built around two main roads used to bring goods in and out of the city. The economy is based around mining, and incredibly stable. Eventually, near the center of the city, lies an averaged sized, oval shaped arena, Felfen tells Derm it is primarily for gladiatorial fights and races. The walls are a sheer black stone, which your guide tells you is obsidian. The two men pass several statues of rulers, Felfen tells Derm a small bit about them, but really nothing more than a name. As they pass several back alleys, Derm notices men scurrying off into the shadows, as well as a man in the process of being robbed. Derm gathers crime is quite rampant. Eventually, the pair returns to the front of the Colosseum, the a common meeting place and market by the looks of it.
Tour 'de [City Name]!
"Why not. Come along. If anyone gets in the way of our escape, keep them at bay for a moment. I'll handle the rest."As Xarius and the guard attempt to leave [2] they are stopped by the warden, "Where are you taking him? He is a prisoner!" The guard who freed you steps in front and responds, "He was captured by a friend of mine and he gave him to me... as a gift."
Make my escape. Find a store to acquire new clothing at.
Go inside and repeat the same actions besides the hood part as I've already done it :PCalenmiriel spots a stable nearby, she takes her horse in and gets off her newfound horse, the stablemaster, a rather tall and nondistinct male elf, strolls over, "I am Mae'oal, do you merely wish to board your horse here? Or is there something else I can do for you?"
The animated armor awaits commands from the spirit possessing it.After an hour of Atla lying in the dirt next to the wall, several guards exit the castle and pick up Atla, they take him inside the city toward the castle keep.
Run!!!!!! Run like a band of insane murderers are chading you.[1 vs. 6-2=4] No matter how fast Juba trys to flee, it seems as if he is making no progress. Glancing back, he realizes the warriors are closing in on him rapidly.
"I swear I will find the carpenter who made those and make him have pain. Now, what have we here?"[2] The cabinet has a few torn clothes and the like inside, nothing useful. Groz then turns to the door and [4] warps reality, there is no one behind the door, it is a rectangular shaped room, to the left is a staircase leading down, on the right are two closed doors.
Look in the cabinet, collecting anything useful or interesting, and then magically make the door transparent to me. Make sure nothing is on the other side.
"Ah, mysterious shadowy group, possibly illict! Perfect, seems like my week is planning itself out. I'll check that out later, need to invent me some gizmos!"[5] Derm hears a few people talking about the scrapyard, and so he follows them, eventually, he reaches a small hut at the corner of the town, behind it is a massive field of metal junk.
To the scrapyard!
"Great."Calenmiriel follows Mae'oal, as she walks through the city, [3] she hears small blips of conversations, the city is called Harraspor, apparently there are gladiatorial fights that anyone can join, as long as they have an endorsement. She also hears a rumor, about a wealthy guild leader with more enemies than allies. Rumors also say that he has great admiration for the nobles and officials of this place. He stays at home most of the time. Eventually, after a few failed attempts of conversation by Mae'oal, they reach the butcher. "I'll be waiting out here for you," the stable-master says as he points you to the door.
Follow the stable-master, as we walk, learn what I can about the city, preferably without talking to anyone.
What's Afgi? You promised info on it in the Enemies spoiler, but there wasn't any.[4 vs. 2] [6+1=7 vs. 3+1=4] Gweg swings his arm out and catches the bandit leaders shield arm in his grip. [1] Noser fails to take the initiative as he trys in vain to pull his shield arm free. "YOU WILL NOT TAKE IT FROM ME!"
I knew I should have skipped the honor crap...
Grab the human's shield arm.
'Not bad, newbie. I might just keep this guy around.'Xarius flings a bolt of [5] black magic at the warden, [4 vs. 1] it strikes him in the stomach, searing his insides. Reacting somewhat slowly for a guard, but still quickly enough, Xarius' devotee pulls out his sword and swings at the guard [2-1=1 vs. 5-2=3] unfortunately he misses completely, clanging his sword at the wall. [1] The warden falls to his knees, clutching at his abdomen as his face twists in pain. "Please spare me!" he wheezes.
Blast the warden with a bolt of shadow/black/arcane/necromantic magic. Resurrect him, try to keep his face intact.
((I personally would call it any of the last three, but up to you.))
??????
I suppose Krzcewski will start in Harraspor, currently undercover as goblin manservant-for-hire, seeking employment with a wizard in order to investigate the Bronze Edict as instructed by his superiors (preferably greater than local authority, but up to you).Krzcewski walks into "The Laughing Lad Tavern" It's an nice, average sized tavern, it's chock full of people and very loud though, it's hard to determine much else in the poor light. Almost as soon as he enters, Krzcewski is greeting by the barkeep, "Hello there my good man! Is there anything I can get you? The house special perhaps? Or," the barkeep winks at the goblin, "are you looking for someone?"
Look at drunken, singing wizard for a bit. How important and competent does he look? Analyze his likely material status and how likely he is to know anything about the Bronze Edict. Look for any telltale signs of what kind of magic he does if the barkeep doesn't tell me.[Dice Roll Hidden] He looks to be nothing greater than an ordinary member, he looks to be quite incompetent and lacking in his knowledge of The Bronze Edict. There are no signs of what kind of magic he is experienced with.
"No, me not go to him yet. He look very important. He be weezard, after all. Do you know what kind weezard he be? Shooty-flamey, see-things one? Glowy-shieldy? Ooh, can he fly? It be great if he fly!"
Walk inside with the meant and hide in my handsCalenmiriel enters the butcher's shop and asks the butcher, "What can I get for this?" The butcher looks up from the headless chicken with a scowl on his face, "Another!" he exclaims, how are these people finding so much game in a god forsaken desert! I'll give you 25 pieces. Just so long as you don't waste my time."
"What can I get for this?"
Keep running, use magic to enhance my endurance and speed.[3] Juba slows down a bit to focus, the warriors are just a few steps behind him, when he feels a sudden briskness take him, [4+1=5 vs. 2-2=0] Juba sprints ahead, feeling strong and powerful, after a mile of running, he checks his back and the warriors are gone. Only then does he realize it has started snowing.
Poke head into shack.Just as Derm reaches the door, it is opened, a gnome covered in unusual tattoos steps out, "Hey you, you... eh... you wanna get in one some of this scrap? I can give it to ya... just 32 gold for as much as you can carry. You aren't a guard are you?"
"Helloooo? Anybody home?"
'Better than expected, oddly.'[4] Xarius' black magic consumes the guard fully, and his corpse falls to the ground. Xarius takes the surcoat [2] but in the midst of removing his gloves, another guard enters the room from another hall of cells, "What do you think your doing!" The guard lunges forward at Xarius' devotee [3 vs. 4-1=3] [4 vs. 6] but the attack is blocked. The minion [6-1=5 vs. 4] slashes [2+2-1=3 vs. 1+1=2] at the guard. The flat of the sword smacks the guard in the head. Giving him no more than a slight bruise.
Strip the Warden of his armor after killing him, wear it and walk out. Hide the body in a dark area, closet, or dark room, first. Anywhere guards are unlikely to go. Too bad there aren't any hay bales.
Rip shield arm out.[3+1=4 vs. 5+1=6] Gweg pulls on Noser's arm but nothing happens, [4] Noser quickly retaliates and swings his sword at Gweg's arm hoping to free himself [6+1+1=8 vs. 3+1=4] [5+1+1-1=6 vs. 3+1+1=5] but due to the difficulty of his position, only lightly cuts Gweg's arm. [5] Gweg maintains his grip and tries once more to wrench the arm off [4+1=5 vs. 6+1=7] but it does not move.
If successful, say "Yes, I will."
Walk out of the door and use my see-through spell on the two doors. If anything interesting/valuable in, enter the rooms and get the items. If enemies are in the rooms, pick through the rooms without enemies (if any) and bust into the room with enemies if there are 3 or under, them pick theough the room once they're dead, then go down the stairs. If there are 4 or over, go down the stairs.[6] [5] Groz uses his ability to see through the doors, each has a bed and a small dresser, Groz enters the rooms [2] [3] and finds nothing of value or interest. Exiting, the second room, Groz hears voices downstairs.
Continue up into the mountains, use magic to boost my bodies temperature to counter the cold.[1] Progress up the mountain is slow and grueling, eventually Juba finds himself at the bottom of a cliff. [1] Juba actually ends up managing to cool himself down. Juba is getting colder.
"Huzzah for buisness! Now let me see what we have here... as much as I can carry, you said?"Derm opens the wooden gate and enters the scrapyard. Inside, are many piles of assorted metals.
Into the scrapyard!
Listen to the voices, if I can't hear them, magically enhance my hearing.[6] It sounds like the hooded dwarf is conversing with some of the smuggler's, "So where exactly is it?" "My cart is in the alley beside the building." "Will you take us to it?" *A large argument ensues* There sounds to be 6 distinct voices.
"Uh... you look... busy, yeah, busy! I leave now!"Krzcewski hurried gets out of sight and attempts to sober the wizard, [2] the wizard continues his song and seems no better.
Step out of sight, then try to telepathically sober up the wizard.
'Why is this place so full of guards? And why are they all in patrols of one!? I'm beginning to become frustrated, mooks will not appreciate my disposition whence I become frustrated.'[5] [6 vs. 5] [6 vs. 1] Xarius directs another bolt of dark magic into the guards face. He dies! Xarius takes the boots and gloves and puts them on. Xarius exits through the nearest door and finds himself in a courtyard.
Kill the new guard. Continue looting the Warden. Leave.
((</Badly_Thought_Out_Hulk_Joke>))
"Perhaps you're right...in the short term."[2+1+1=4 vs. 4+1=5] [5+1+1=7 vs. 2+1=3] Gweg wrenches Noser's shield arm as hard as he can when suddenly, there is a loud crack. Noser shrieks in pain as his limb dangles loosely at his side. Noser falls to his knees helpless and weeping over the loss of an arm to hold Afigi.
Grab his other arm with my other hand. Then, break either arm.
"Perfect"Calenmiriel takes the coins and leaves, giving 12 of them to the stable master. [3] She wanders about the streets listening for rumors of work, there are a few mentions of people wishing to join the arena as a fighter. Not much else is heard on the streets.
Take the coins and leave, give 12 to the stable master, look for a job.
...The soul of Atla is banished by a mage, and the armor melted down.
Cast spells to make me invisible and silent, then follow behind the group, but stay out of méelee range.[4] [3] Groz casts two moderately powerful spells and begins to follow the group, [1+2=3 vs. 6] One of the smuggler's spots a small shimmer in the shadows, "Hey! Who's there!" He slowly approaches with his weapon drawn, the rest of the group turn to wait.
By the way, how do you spell 'melee'?
"Allllriiight.... Lets do some MAGISCIENCE!"[1+1=2] Derm attempts to begin fusing pieces of metal together for several minutes but can't get the pieces to stay in place without them falling apart.
First off, build a fiendishly difficult puzzlebox for the shack owner. Put a piece of paper with the words 'A WINNAR IS YOU!' on it inside.
"Heh. Never say stuff like that, rookie."Gweg manages to wrench the shield off of Noser's arm. He raises his greatsword and [4+1=5 vs. 1-3=-2] strikes the bandit leader's head from his shoulders He turns and says "Is this one of those bandit clans where killing the leader makes you the new leader?" before realizing the rest of the bandits have vanished. [5] Gweg does spot a distinct trail leading down the hill toward the forest.
Take Afigi, kill the bandit leader. If he dies, say: "Is this one of those bandit clans where killing the leader makes you the new leader?"
Return to the room with the wizard and keep watching him. When he leaves, follow him. When Krzcewski returns to the room [1] the wizard has fallen unconscious. This may be a while. While waiting, Krzcewski hears a rumor about a wealthy guild leader who is, apparently on everyone’s guest list.
Cast spell again to warm me up, look around.[1] Juba actually ends up managing to cool himself down... again. Juba is getting colder. He looks around and sees a cave to his left. Every other direction, besides the way he came just leads further up the mountain. One of the directions leads to a steep cliffside. A much, faster, way down the mountain.
"Hey, are you coming?"[4] "Of course," the guard hurriedly follows Xarius as he hurries through the courtyard [1] one of the guards at the gatehouse beckon him over, "Hey! What have you heard about that damned minotaur?"
Check if the guard that sort of helped me is still following or if he left. Either way, leave the complex and head off into the wilderness. The armor should keep me hidden until they start checking faces, which shouldn't be long with two dead guards.
Playing with the small amount of gold I got from the butcher, I go to the arena. It could be a quick way to make a lot of coin, and nobody will miss me if I'm dead. On arrival, get some information about how the fights are carried out. Do I use my own gear or is it provided, when can I join a fight, what kinds of people would I be fighting.Calenmiriel moves through the streets and quite easily finds her way to the arena. From what she gathers from the rumors, the rules on fights vary depending on a poll gathered from the people, the fighters don't know the parameters until they commit to fighting, to keep it interesting. Anyone can fight, including children, slaves if they are granted permission by their masters, criminals, nobles, guards, mages, the list goes on. Finally, it seems fights are done constantly throughout the day, it is all just a matter of signing up.
Locate a nearby tool station and try again.[4] Derm spots a decent looking tool station to his right placed against the shack and tries once more, [3+1+1=5] he manages to work several hunks of metal into one, fusing them together in a box shape, he then takes another chunk of metal and forms an eleven number combination lock whose combination changes every 6 hours. Being careful not to close it yet. Derm scavenges a small sheet of paper and a inked quill and writes, "A WINNAR IS YOU!" Derm places the sheet in the box and closes it.
Equip Afigi. Follow the trail.Gweg drops his tower shield to the ground and fastens Afigi to his arm, and heads off along the trail, [2] the trail is sporadic and splits off in several directions, to the east, northeast, southwest, and straight ahead the path continues.
"Do all bandits have such nice toys?"
Search the cave.Juba slowly enters the cave [5] and notices the glow of a fire farther down the pathway. A trail of blood leads toward it.
'In the name of the seven hells, can something go right?'Xarius casually walks over to the guard [4 vs. 1] shielding his face and as soon as he comes within range, flings a shadow bolt at the guard [3 vs. 4] but the guard dodges to the left, "Hey! It's the...!" The guards shout ends in a choked gurgle as Xarius' devotee stabs him in the throat with his longsword [5-1=4 vs. 2] [6+1-1=6 vs. 1] Xarius and his ally break into a sprint as the run from the courtyard. [4] Without further trouble, the two eventually reach a deserted alleyway. There are no signs of pursuit.
Walk over to the guard, kill him. Shadow bolt, of course. Leave the corpse for the scavengers and the guards and run for the hills. Or at least away.
((Note to self, don't give the GM any ideas.))
Cast an illusion spell to have a human-height Groz with a knife appear out of thin air directly behind the guy in front, saying in a French accent, "Right behind you."[6] Groz casts a spell and summons a real, physical copy of Groz at human height with a knife. "Right behind you." it says as the bowman looses an arrow in his panic [3 vs. 3] [4+1=5 vs. 1] The arrow thuds into the copy's head, and it falls to the ground unmoving. "You think there's more of 'em?" the guard who is now 5 feet in front of Groz calls to his comrades. "Maybe, we should be wary."
Be amused as the bowmen kill thier own comrade.
Krzcewski walks up to the barkeep.[5] "As I said, I don't meddle in the affairs of wizards, he did rent a room though. Seeing as he's drunk out of his mind, you seem like a nice enough fellow, could you take him up there for me? Here's the room key." Krzcewski figures this is good enough and drags the drunken wizard who has begun shouting expletives in his sleep, up into his room.
"Hey, you know where mister sleepy weezard live?"
Find out where the wizard lives and pull his sorry carcass over there.
Try my luck, lets sign up for a fightCalenmiriel walks over to the signup area, and asks to sign up. "You... really? Well it's your life I guess. Anyway, do you have a sponsor? Eh... I presume not. Go on through that door over their and wait. The next fight shall begin shortly."
Pretty much just start me out in a forest.Evaliss is in a forest... the small camp of wood elves she has been searching for is approximately 50 meters ahead.
Draw both my swords then follow the blood trail towards the fire, attempt to remain unseen.Juba draws his swords and begins moving toward the fire, [1] suddenly, his foot lands in a large pool of blood and Juba slips falling to the ground in a loud clatter. "Who's there!" A gruff voice ahead calls out.
Shrug, return to camp. Decapitate bandit leader's corpse, then grab head and tower shield (I can probably sell it) before searching the camp for loot.Gweg returns to the camp, decapitating Noser and grabbing his tower shield. [2] There isn't much else in the camp, besides what the dead bandits are wearing. Which couldn't reasonably all be taken. There is still that cave that the bandits came out of though.
"Well, thats done. Now for the fun stuff."[1+1+1=3] 5 turns remaining.
Amass just like... a fucking gigantic pile of scrap. Start building a fantasy clockwork exosuit slash ironman suit slash giant mecha. Use knowledge of magic runes and mechanics to supplement the building.
Question, can I spend multiple turns on one thing to make sure I get a good end result without the random chance affecting it? Liek taking a twenty in DnD?
"That went well. We only had to kill four guards. That's about half of everyone on the morning shift; better than my usual record with impromptu jail-breaks. So, do you want to enjoy your new freedom and go our separate ways now, or continue to be my faithful equal partner in brutal combat, complicated acts of black magic, and perhaps even apprenticeship in those very same black arts? You've done amazingly well thus far, saved me twice in those encounters back there, and not tried to sell me out or stab me in the back even once.I can admire such loyalty. So, what do you say?"[2] "You know, I don't really think I should leave, you know, I have family here. But if you ever need anything here, come find me." [3] Xarius makes it out of the city without any further encounters with the guards and finds himself at the fork of a road, branching off to the left and right. [3] There is a sign, pointing back the way he came that says Ferovale. To the right it says, Stingard. To the left, Milturn.
'I can probably fix the lack of evil in him later, having a slightly demonic spirit take up residence in your soul can really fix your goodie two shoes perspective.'
Pet/scratch my familiar while talking to the guard without breaking eye contact. Attempt to recruit the guard, whether or not he comes along, find my way to a sheltered and secluded hamlet, far from the city or any nearby castles. As distant from organized society as possible, while still having a population of around ten to thirty. What type of people populate it is completely unimportant, so long as they aren't directly hostile.
*Nods quietly*Calenmiriel walks over to the door and is quickly ushered inside into a dark room. Soon after the ground shakes, and she feels the room rising. Finally it reaches the top and Calenmiriel is bathed in the glow of the sun. On the opposite side a humanoid stands in a similar cage. [2] She cannot discern anything about him as the cages open.
Go over to the door and wait.
Climb a tree 25 meters from the camp and observe.Evaliss quickly sneaks through the forest and [4] scales a nearby tree. This is a good vantage point. There are two elves walking around the camp, it seems to be a small family, a husband and wife. Due to the glow of the campfire the shape of a third humanoid can be seen inside one of the two small closed tents.
Drag the wizard to his room, then take a look around. See if there's anything suitably suspicious-looking around.[1] Krzcewski drags the wizard up into his room, successfully bashing his toes against any nearby walls. Upon reaching the door, he uses the key and pushes the door open. Krzcewski drags the wizard onto the small bedroll and begins investigating. [4+1=5] Krzcewski quickly spots a letter on top of the small dresser. It is still sealed though so it seems the wizard has not read it yet.
"Hood! Move!"[6] The hooded and disguised dwarf rolls away from the group and pulls his axe from his belt. Meanwhile Groz raises his hand and directs it toward the bandits. [1+1=2] Groz's hand fizzles [2] luckily for him, the smugglers are unsure of what exactly is going on and are unsure of who is friend or foe.
Give Hood time to start running, then chain lightning the bandits.
Juba continues toward the fire as the voice begins to mumble, [4] he eventually reaches the source of the fire, it's coming from a torch set on one of the walls. He can no longer hear the voice.
"Juba."
Shout my name and continue towards the fire looking for the source of the voice.
As soon as I can leap/run out of the cage and take a shot at my opponent with my bow, if he/she has a shield perhaps aim for the legs. Fire a second if he/she hasn't reached me yet aiming at the upper body if the shot at the legs connects. Make use of my agility to dodge attacks as they come, make use of the arrows as stabbing weapons if he/she gets in close. An average sized, unarmed man slowly exits his cage as [4+1=5] Calenmiriel leaps out of the cage, nocks an arrow and sends it flying toward the man [3+1+1=5 vs. 3] [1+1=2 vs. 4] But several vines erupt from the ground and slam the arrow onto the ground. Seeing as the man is still walking, Calenmiriel fire another, [2+1=3 vs. 2] [3 vs. 4] Once more several vines erupt out of the ground and bat the arrow away. The other man, now standing at approximately the middle of the arena slings his hand forward, two vines burst from the palm of his hand headed right at Calenmiriel [5 vs. 2+1] she rolls away but one of the vines still manages to catch her leg, thus negating any advantage in agility she had, the man in the center of the arena crouches down.
Gweg:The bandits seem to have been rather poor, the only items found were a few coins in a couple of the tents, [2] most of the swords on the ground are quite flimsy and quite frankly, not useful as weapons, more as letter openers. Gweg is starting to feel a bit fatigued, maybe he should patch up the hole in his belly. Regardless, Gweg heads into the cave, the cave is completely bare besides a small pool of shimmering purple liquid inside of something best described as a bird bath.
Take small, valuable items (eg coins or something), a sword the right size for it to be a large knife or dagger to me, and head to the cave to search it.
Chain lightning them once more! If that fails again, cast an explosive fireball towards the center of the group.[5+1=6] This time, the bolt flies full speed into the enemy group, the lightning only jumps to one of them, but the two that were hit were quite unlucky [1] They continue to be oblivious to Groz's presence and instead are focusing on the hooded dwarf. So, [5+1] he conjures a fireball which hits one of them straight on in the back, he quickly incinerates. [4+1=5 vs. 1] [3+2=5 vs. 3] The hooded dwarf dismembers one of the smuggler's legs at the knee with his handaxe [3+1=4 vs. 3] and rolls to dodge the other before swinging his axe at the other smuggler's face [6+1=7 vs. 6] [2+2=4 vs. 6] But the smuggler easily parries the blow and counter attacks, [1 vs. 6+1=7] The hooded dwarf rolls the side once more.
Evaliss nocks an arrow, compensating for distance, height, and wind, and releases the bowstring [6+1+1=8 vs. 2-1=1] The arrow soars across the clearing and finds its way into the elf's throat [5+1+1=7 vs. 1] He collapses with a throaty gurgle. As the woman screams and runs into the tent.Wait until night and fire once atleast 2 of the elves fall asleep.
Screw that.
Fire upon the male elf.
Follow the road to Milturn.Xarius takes the road to Milturn, strangely, the road is completely empty, there are rustles in the bushes to either side occasionally but they usually happen to be ordinary wildlife.
((Hoping naming conventions are set to Realistic and not Ironically Opposite.))
Grab the letter, then leave the room, making sure to close the door behind me, then head someplace less... populated. Open the letter and read it there.Krzcewski grabs the letter and leaves the room closing the door behind him. Then he goes over and tosses the door key to the tavern keeper, who thanks him. He opens the door and quickly finds himself under the harsh rays of the desert sun once more as he scurries into a nearby alley to read the letter. He tears it open and sees only three words, Arena Night Match.
Search the area, keep my weapons drawn. Once done move close to the fire to warm up.There are no obvious oddities in the nearby area, seeing nothing, Juba walked over to the fire to warm himself up.
Telepathically contact Hood. The hooded dwarf rolls backward once more as [6] a massive pillar of flame completely incinerates the remaining bandits. Unfortunately a fire now rages toward Groz and the hooded dwarf who now stands across the hall.
"A bit further away, please."
Once he's sufficiently far away, call down a pillar of fire on the bandits.
Analyze the three words. What exactly might they mean? A night match at the arena or something else? Is there an arena in Harraspor?[3+1=4] Krzcewski recalls that there is indeed an arena in Harraspor that does have night matches. Unfortunately it is going to be a few more hours before the first begins (6 turns) There may be clues already in place at the arena. Or perhaps he could listen for rumors on the street...
Considering that the message does not come with a time and does not look like a flyer, it does indeed seem like this may actually be a clue. But does it lead to an arena, or something more insidious?
Investigate any leads I can think of.
Treat wound, investigate liquid. Dip one of the crap swords into it.[5] Gweg wraps his wounds with strips cloth he tore off the dead bandits clothing, they should start healing now. Easing to his feet he grabs one of the "crap" swords and dips it into the liquid. Nothing obvious happens.
Stab the vine holding onto my leg multiple times with an arrow, in an attempt to break free. If my attempt fails, allow the man to drag me towards him if he tries. When I get closer attempt another shot with the bow.[3-1=2] Calenmiriel stabs at the vine repeatedly but it is in vain. The man in the center of the arena continues crouching, she can hear him mumbling.
Climb down the tree, and cut down ropes holding the tent up.[5] Evaliss gracefully slips down the tree and quickly walks to the tent and [4] slices the ropes with a small hunting knife, causing it to collapse. The occupants seem to be attempting to escape, but, they probably won't anytime soon.
The next thing that rustles the bushes, so long as it is at least fifty pounds in weight, kill it and reanimate it.[1] The only creatures among the bushes seem to be tiny rabbits, and Xarius wouldn't want to make Chuckles jealous would he. [4] Xarius hears what sound like a group of soldier marching along the road ahead in his direction.
Bump?ARG forgot about this. Yes, bump.
